If you actually understand chinese, The developers never mentioned anything even remotely close to sexual references, I don’t know which translation website/software they used, but if was off by miiiiiiles. Black Myth Wukong is really really great game, I highly recommend getting it!

I will but I will do what I do with every game wait for it to go on sale.
I have not paid ‘full price’ for a game since I got OG CoD BO2 for PS3 on launch.
Plus I have a ton of games in my steam library to play.
So I will get round to it eventually.
I have to wait until the end of the year to finish my computer build, thanks to inflation, i gotta budget everything responsibly. Save money for emergency. But once i get the parts i have my eyes on, this will be one of the first games i get to test it out. I have a backlog built up already but this is still up there on my list. Priorities... Next year, probably during the spring, I even plan to upgrade my video card again.
I haven't kept up with this stuff like i used to, really everything is so expensive now, and there's so few games i even remotely look forward to. This game needs to get the point across. Make it worth upgrading again. I will not pay $70 to be lectured by unhinged commie "activists", in fact, they couldn't pay me $70 to sit through their slop.
@@lordomacron3719 I do the same, there's so many sales throughout the year, and decades of games to keep me occupied in between. I have a massive backlist of games right now, probably enough that i won't get to them all. Classics, certain indie games, and I've become very interested in the modding and translations of games now. There's some cool stuff happening there, texture packs, games that never left Japan that i thought I'd never play, are now fully translated and by actual FANS who care about accuracy.

This game is actually based on a very diverse and woke ideology if you read the book of journey to the west. The content in the book is even more diverse than the video game where there is entire story line involving a Queendom a land where only women resides in and they run the country as soldiers, officials and everything else. Wukung and his gang got pregnant for drinking their water 😂 btw none of the portray is evil in anyway it was one of storyline that doesn’t really involve in evil monsters. My bf is foreign and the way you 'literally' translate things is...odd...A common phrase they use as a greeting (like what's up, what's going on) is "what's the fart" but you don't LITERALLY translate it, they tell you what they mean, not the actual wording (should you ask). Also, the use of "mother" is a huge insult in many forms, but they never mean women or an actual mother (being vague cause I don't speak the language so I don't know fully). they also use "fatty" as a term of endearment. We're not in their culture, we have no idea what's commonplace, and what entitlement and privilege this lady has (who I am sure didn't play the game) to stick her western understanding of humor and offense in a place it doesn't belong. At the very least, it has nothing to do with the game. At most, you are just holding up a mirror and deciding to look at the sun instead. Insane.

Black Myth Wu Kong is a success because the game developers understand how to make a quality game.
It's none of the over promising and under-delivering that we see in modern gaming.
No need for in-game purchases, or 50 characters with 6 different genders like in Western games.
It's simple really, stick with the theme. A game doesn't need to suit all audiences, eg: boy, girl, young, old, gay, lesbian, Black, Asian, White...list goes on.
In fact, FF16 failed because it attempted to try something new, but lost identity in the process. Too many borrowed ideas and the battle was bland.
Black Myth Wu Kong just stayed on track and had a clear direction. Ignoring all the bs every other game companies were trying to do.

Basically having the corporate press run hit pieces that make your company look based will be the gold standard of what every game dev will want if they want there games to sell … but new media will erase the corporate press as it is in everything else … the only problem is you have to be a actual good journalist to make money on substack … and the ones left working for minimum corporate pay at the corporate press are just the worst of the worst are the government paid press to promote the governments agenda in certain areas.

To be fair, not all of their employees are like that. These ones (and many others) woke journalist are to blame. I've met some of the reviewers and they are actually really chill. Too bad their company constantly pushing woke agendas to their employees. I mean, what can they do? Resign? Sure, but are they guaranteed to get a new job after leaving IGN? Not as easy as you may think. When they complain that there aren’t enough female characters, what metric do they use to determine that? How do they know which npc’s identify as male or female? They can’t even define a woman. It would be perfectly valid to say every single character in the game is gender fluid for all we know according to their standards.
