This was after the South Carolina Show, The Doctor Put A Shot In His throat for Strep. I Remember because he said he didn't mind kissing you if you didn't mind getting Strep, NOBODY MIND. LOL
I have been an Elvis fan forever.I have read all the positive and negatives written on here and elsewhere. No matter what it was a tragic loss to his family, friends and fans.
I love Elvis and this is one of my favorite songs by him my name used to be Moody before I married and I use to pretend he was singin this song to me. I think he is dynamite, a wounderful , magnificent man and I loved him then and I love him still. He is awesome and I will forever and always love, respect and admire him. There will NEVER, Ever, be another like him not even close on the best day of their life. He gave everything he had and it was all or nothing he never did anything half way>
Before Elvis came on stage you could feel the show room starting to change. Everyone new that they were about to be entertained by the biggest singing star in the world. When he walked onto the stage you were transfixed. No other singer will ever match him.
This is my favorite Elvis song!!! Sometimes I wish the "National Enquirer" is right, and Elvis is indeed in hiding, I do not accept he is no longer with us.
I was at this show as an 11 yr old. I remember the excitement he caused just standing there but also how he didn't look or act like the Elvis I knew from TV. I am lucky to have seen him at all. The ticket is still in a frame on my wall.
There's been a lot of things said about Elvis but he was the most generous individual. Yeah, he had faults but who doesn't? He could sing like nobody else. His voice could take you anywhere. And you can feel the emotion in his songs. Even his films have a certain charm. I've just got the last filmed concert from 1977 and the manners and respect he had are still there. How many artists can be recognised by saying "thank you, thank you very much?" The man was a genius.
I am a "massive fan"........some would say a FAN-"ADDIC". Elvis could sing any song even cover a song and do it better than the original performer. I will love him forever...............
A twisted colon, swell his body from the waist up. As I said the list goes on and on.. But with all the pain he was going through he still went up on stage and sung his heart and soul out. It takes a very special man to do something like that. Yes he paid with his life but I think it was out of depression. Elvis never knew how to fight back. His mom protected him, that he loved so very dearly, and after she passed away, it was the Memphis Mafia he thought was protecting him, but they just used
Wow. this wasn't long before we lost him and altho he was looking a little rough by this time, the amazing talent and music knowledge still all there. Thanks for sharing this wonderul bit of Elvis
Elvis worked so hard that he use to get so dehydrated and sometimes he would wear hisself out so much where they would have to help him off the stage The only mistake he made was wanting to satisfy all his fans to much he loved his fans.and he paid for it terribably Drugs did not kill Elvis Don't beleive all the crap they write about him. He was one terrific human being,A total sweetheart Elvis loved everyone It is so sad that he went so young. he's in the arms of God now I miss him like crazy.
jangraceland One of my all time favorites because my maiden name was Moody before I married. Thank you E loved it then, love it now always will. Just breaks my heart I never got to see you sing it in person. Thanks E for the song, never will forget you!
Elvis and MJ were both great artists... and both had great people like Sam Phillips (with Elvis) and Barry Gordy and Later Quincy Jones (who produced the brilliant Off the Wall and Thriller albums with MJ) to harness that talent. So thank you Sam Phillips and Barry Gordy for discovering 2 talented artists.
Man.....I love Elvis, but you could definately tell he was in bad shape just by listening to this. He had a severely impacted colon and I think thats a big reason why his voice went. My favorite Elvis era was 1968-1970. Comeback special and the Thats the Way it Was concert special. We miss you Elvis! RIP
On this day in 1977 {February 6th} "Moody Blue" by Elvis Presley peaked at #2 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Easy Listening chart, for the two weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Love Theme from 'A Star Is Born' (Evergreen)" by Barbra Streisand... "Moody Blue" reached #31 on Billboard's Top 100 chart... Between 1961 and 2008 the Tupelo, Mississippi native had forty-two records on the Easy Listening/Adult Contemporary chart, thirty-five made the Top 10 with seven reaching #1... Two of his posthumous charted records were duets, "I'll Be Home For Christmas" with Carrie Underwood {#14 in 2008} and "Blue Christmas" with Martina McBride {#22 in 2008}... Sadly, The King passed away at the young age of 42 on August 16th, 1977... May he R.I.P. And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the Easy Listening Top 10 on February 6th, 1977: At #3. "Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow" by Tom Jones #4. "New Kid In Town" by The Eagles #5. "Lost Without Your Love" by Bread #6. "I Like Dreamin'" by Kenny Nolan #7. "You Got Me Runnin'" by Gene Cotton #8. "Year of The Cat" by Al Stewart #9. "Save It For A Rainy Day" by Stephen Bishop #10. "Dancing Queen" by Abba
This is sooooo sweet hearing Elvis having to read the words to the song. I was too young to know who Elvis was when he died but I do remember this song on the radio and it's stayed with me always.
ELVIS FACTS - 114 top 40 hits, 40 top 10 hits, and 18 number 1 hits at pop billboard USA - Over 1 billion albums sold world wide -1 billion viewers watched him live in 1973 (1st ever satellite concert) - Hits and grammies in all genres ranging from rock, soul, country, blues, ballads, pop ... - Had a 2 1/2 octave range - Graceland has 600,000 visitors/year (2nd most visited residence in the USA after the White House - starred in 31 movies - was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood
After his movie career ended, Elvis almost soley recorded covers of country songs with a rare rock nugget, for example "Burning Love" or "Promised Land" thrown in.
Elvis was never fat. He got very bloated due to the steroids and cortisone medications that the doctors gave him. Elvis was a very sick man and he continued to perform. He had bad glaucoma, an enlarged heart, hepatitis, fatty liver and a twisted colon amongst other very serious medical problems. If he had received the appropriate medical treatments, he would be alive today. If someone cared about him instead of treating him like an ATM, he'd be alive today. Same goes for MJ.
as Bank of America. Elvis was like a very young man trapped inside a man's body, he just didn't know how to fight, his depression just got deeper and deeper. Elvis was the sweetest most gentle human being I had ever meant. He did not deserve the things he had to struggle with. I hope one day before I die I can erase all these rumors about him dying of prescription drugs. He deserves that..
This is a cool glimpse into a great concert moment in The King's last year of life! This was actually performed the day I was born and I discovered when looking for the top song when I was born. Very neat, thanks for posting!!
You speak for all of us Pokechoppah93, who are Elvis fans, I often wonder about this, always got to be some people who can't stand seeing others speaking about something they like.
I bought the album when I was fourteen I still have it to this day only played it once the blue album it's like brand spanking new. Seems like yesterday
thats why many take comfort from the holy scriptures...for me it is comforting to know that one day elvis will live again but this time without the health problems and drugs...but i know what you mean about the sadness of a man dying like that..it brings to tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
I'm with you on this one. This was just months before his death tho and while I don't think he sounded bad, it still wasn't the hot on fire Elvis of just 9 years earlier..
the simple fact is Elvis could have made the phone book sound good...Nothing before, nothing since...Miss You
It's so sweet how he apologises for making mistakes before even performing
He recorded the song six months to a year before this, it became a hit. He had never performed live before. This is history!!!
No matter what Elvis sang he sang it better then anybody outthere. He is truely the King of Rock-n-Roll Thanks for sharing
FANTASTIC SONG ELVIS!!!
The fading King still could sing his ass off. Elvis still had his magnificent voice. That's why his was the Man. The Undisputed King of Rock.
This was after the South Carolina Show, The Doctor Put A Shot In His throat for Strep. I Remember because he said he didn't mind kissing you if you didn't mind getting Strep, NOBODY MIND. LOL
I Love this man...#amazing#amazing#amazing#

This is my favorite Elvis song!!! Sometimes I wish the "National Enquirer" is right, and Elvis is indeed in hiding, I do not accept he is no longer with us.
What a beautiful soul this Man has ! Love listening to him speak ...just as much as I love listening to him sing. God Bless Elvis ...ALWAYS.
I was at this show as an 11 yr old. I remember the excitement he caused just standing there but also how he didn't look or act like the Elvis I knew from TV. I am lucky to have seen him at all. The ticket is still in a frame on my wall.

É tão maravilhoso ver como ele encantava a platéia!!! Todos simplesmente enloqueciam!!!
I am a "massive fan"........some would say a FAN-"ADDIC". Elvis could sing any song even cover a song and do it better than the original performer. I will love him forever...............
The one and only! Love it! Thanks!

Súper alegre canción y brillant interpretación.Gracias.✌👑👼🌹❤
Part of Elvis' charm was his informality, vulnerability, and depricating humor. Bet new performers could learn a thing or two from this!
Only Elvis could sing this song! Thankyou for posting!
jangraceland One of my all time favorites because my maiden name was Moody before I married. Thank you E loved it then, love it now always will. Just breaks my heart I never got to see you sing it in person. Thanks E for the song, never will forget you!
I went to this concert in Charlotte when I was little. I still remember it...

Huh? Elvis did a ton of country music. Post-1968, he did more country than anything else.
Elvis is and will always be the best!

Elvis el mejor, en America, Europa y en otras galaxias..
Oh i know it. My response was to a person who said he couldn't sing deep baritones. Elvis's range was huge.:)
E' triste questa Canzone perche' x me segna la fine di un Grande...Artista...il piu' Grande di tutti i Tempi......

Great song, and you can tell as it went along he felt more comfortable with it.
A shame that he didn't attempt it again.
After his movie career ended, Elvis almost soley recorded covers of country songs with a rare rock nugget, for example "Burning Love" or "Promised Land" thrown in.
@The2Fool Thanks....love this version and hearing Elvis talking...

He should have taken a couple of years off and gotten himself together.
Those around Elvis kept pushing him.
What a shame.
He didn't have to die.
