I had such a fun time transitioning from iPhone to canon. iPhone told me “storage full” all the time and it ruins my streaming. I so love the camera and it’s the best!!!! It’s so much fun vlogging now.
When I go to try to find my pc to connect to it my camera can’t find it both are connected to the same internet I called canon support they could not even figure it out
For the "wifi connection setup" type it in as "wi-fi connection setup" . It popped up for me, i was just typing it as "wifi connection setup" and it didnt show up. As for the camera option showing up to connect, close out of the " add device" and reopen your control panel, click add device and the camera option should pop up now if you had entered the correct password for you router. Hope this helps everyone!

Hi, I have a question. I’m about to buy this camera. For the import model, are you still able to connect to the WiFi in the US? And if it breaks, can u still get it fixed in the US?
Hi Angela! The PowerShot G7 X Mark II should be the same outside the US, so it should connect to Wi-Fi networks in the US the same too. It may even still be repaired here in the US. However, the warranty is for the region/country from which it is purchased. We hope this information helps!
Hi Anthony! Clicking on the Import Photos and Videos option will use Windows own method for importing photos and video from the camera rather than Canon CameraWindow. We hope this answers your question!

Why must it be so convoluted? I want to use a cable to transfer my images - not use the much slower Wi-Fi. (Edit: Oh joy, I can transfer one image before the Wi-Fi crashes out and I have to reconnect all over again. I have approx 2k images from vacation to move to my desktop.)
Hi, Angela! The Wi-Fi connection with your PowerShot G7 X Mark II should be much more robust than what you're describing. If you've already followed the steps shown in this video, we recommend contacting our US-based tech support team and letting them troubleshoot the issue with you. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666). We look forward to your call!

Hi Pearl! It should work, but here at Canon USA, we only have information about operation here in the US. We recommend reaching out to our friends at Canon Australia for more specific information about operation in that region. They can be reached from their website at www.canon.com.au We hope this helps!
Hi Olivia! This sounds like something our camera support agents can help you set up. You can reach them at 1-800-652-2666 Monday-Friday: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm ET, Saturday: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm ET, excluding holidays. We hope this information is useful.
Hi! You'll find the serial number on the bottom of your camera. It should be a 12-digit number consisting only of numerals and no letters. Hope this helps!
Hi, Jana! When you're prompted for your network password as shown at 3:39, you'll need to enter the password for your wireless network. This will be the same password you use to get other devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets onto your network. Hope this helps!
Hi Abhi, Please check that you are entering the correct number. The serial number is usually printed in a gray box with black letters, on the data tag on the camera. The serial number should be 12-digits long and will contain no letters. You can also find the serial number on Canon U.S.A. warranty card that was provided with the camera. If you have correctly entered the serial number, and still get the error, please contact our camera support team. They can be reached at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm ET; excluding holidays. We hope this resolves the issue.
Why is this so confusing? There needs to be a simpler way of downloading your photos and videos. But this is ridiculous. You had a great concept but your software is not ready to be user friendly. Get your team to revamp this nightmare.
Hi, Yasmin! I have also downloaded the software 3 separate times and it refuses to work. should be pretty basic to connect your camera to computer I really don't know why it so hard. Would we be able to view live, to be able to record and have the computer as our viewfinder?
Hi, Lauré! The Canon CameraWindow software is designed primarily for transferring existing images and videos onto your computer. If you want to control the camera remotely, you can use the free Canon Camera Connect app to use your smartphone or tablet as a remote control and as a live viewfinder.

Hi! The method described in this video works for both still images and videos. Hope this helps!
Is ther a way to record a video for more than an hour without the camera turning off?
The PowerShot G7 X Mark II will only record until the file size reaches 4 GB or the card is full. After this, you'll need to start a new movie recording.
i have no recommended downloads

I know this video is old but I’m just now downloading and using this software however, I am having issues with it. The setup is complete and the two devices are connected but soon after I connected my camera to my laptop, CameraWindow app opens and then closes with the message “the camera has been disconnected. The software will now close.” Without me doing anything, didn’t even touch either device. Could you help?

Hi there! Your PowerShot G7 X Mark II can be connected to your laptop either using Wi-Fi or using a USB cable connected to the Digital Terminal that is just above the HDMI port. Once connected, you can use the Canon CameraWindow DC application you installed on your laptop to connect to the camera and download your images.
If you're still unable to connect to the camera to download the images, our support team can help you with this. They can be reached directly at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666) weekdays between 10 AM and 10 PM ET. We hope this helps!
Canon, it is long past time to update your Windows software. Microsoft has discontinued Silverlight and it is no longer acceptible for you to require its installation to support your Windows applications.
my camera says start dedicated app on target device??? Why is my camera set up different than your tutorial Canon? This is the type of thing that makes you lose customers.

How about telling us how to find our serial number?
Hi, Tim! You'll find your camera's serial number on the bottom of the unit. It should consist of numerals only.
Glad we could help!
MAKE SURE TO ENABLE WIFI CONNECTION SETUP
How do you do that, please?
4:59 if i click import photos and videos on my windows laptop, will the cannon camera app open with my vidoes?
Hi Anthony! Clicking on the Import Photos and Videos option will use Windows own method for importing photos and video from the camera rather than Canon CameraWindow. We hope this answers your question!
Thank you
thank you so much

@@CanonUSASupport wow cant believe you got back to me. Thank you so much. Hopefully itll be a breeze once i cantact the 1v1 support
Hi! You'll find the serial number on the bottom of your camera. It should be a 12-digit number consisting only of numerals and no letters.
Hope this helps!
What is The network password ???
Hi, Jana! When you're prompted for your network password as shown at 3:39, you'll need to enter the password for your wireless network. This will be the same password you use to get other devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets onto your network.
Hope this helps!
Showing error when enter serial number 😭
Hi Abhi,
Please check that you are entering the correct number.
I can't connect the camera to my hp printer 4518..
Where do I find this stupid serial number?
Hi Laura! The serial number is located on the reverse-side of the LCD. We hope this helps!
Laura Sardinha 😂😂
Why is this so confusing? There needs to be a simpler way of downloading your photos and videos. But this is ridiculous. You had a great concept but your software is not ready to be user friendly. Get your team to revamp this nightmare.
