Beating DARK SOULS 1 With Only Crystal Weapons - FINAL

- The final part of the crystal-only challenge run in Dark Souls Remastered!
At this point in the run our power level is quite high so it's more of a themed run than a challenge - interestingly the beginning of the run was much harder and more complex than the ending. I really enjoyed replaying dark souls remastered, it's been amazing to see everyone else enjoying it as well! - Ігри
Vagrants are such an exciting moment when you find one
Wait they're uncommon? I've already found 2-3 and i'm on my first run. No evil ones though.
@olivewooled1297 that's crazy I've finished the game 6 times
But just now found out they existed😂
i found two on my first run leading up to gwyn, was so confused on why there was two evil crabs shooting me and then i found out they're super uncommon
I'm on the unremastered edition so I don't think I can find them :(
@@olivewooled1297its like the stars aligning because another playernin their world has to lose a lot of humanity or souls (i cant remember which) and that makes the vagrants spawn. (feel free to correct me if im wrong)
>Coolest armor set
>Cool weapon and aesthetic
>Cool moveset
>Amazing damage
>Easy to obtain
Wow, I love crystal weapo-
>Barely any durability and cannot be repaired
>Can buy some infinitely (I think?)
@@FloaydiYes, but it limited and it does not make up for the anonwance of farming
@@guilhermegaspar752 anonwance💀
@@themustardman219 forgot how to spell that
@@guilhermegaspar752 annoyance?
Fighting Gwyn legitimately instead of freehand parrying? Impressive.
have you tried doing it with a crossbow or just by poising through the attacks while 2 handing a long sword?
I thought the same when he didn't drop ceaseless discharge
@@k.m.m.a81 I've slain Gwyn with one weapon of each type. Sorcery was stupid easy, catalyst was not. That run is like using a slow, weak spear with only one attack.
Honestly I find that easier than parrying.
@@luna7157 I've killed Gwyn with a Black Knight Halberd in my left hand (shield hand)...was not fun :D
(I did an an entire run with left hand only)
I don’t think I've ever seen anybody genuinely kill Ceaseless!
I did, obviously the first time playing you shouldn’t (and I didn’t) know how to cheese him
@@Ruggi21 i actually cheesed him by mistake the first time believe it or not. So this is the first time i saw someone fight him legitimately
It's so easy to kill legit I didn't even consider there was a cheese.
I have a question! If I was to do the DLC with this character in NG+...
how would you like me to do it? Keep it as is with crystal-only? Lmk :]
I think it's definitely worth attempting
give it a try with crystal only for sure :D
Yes plz
yes absolutely! i was a little dissapointed you didnt mention the dlc in the video, but i did have a fun time watching your playthrough!
Yeah do the dlc with only crystal
6:55 not sure why, but the Titanite chunk drop celebration danse followed by the arrow to the back + the cut is peak comedy timing
😂
I agree 100%. It was so perfectly timed in a way that would be near impossible to set up on purpose.
I had a Vagrant in my first playthrough as well which was an enormous surprise as I knew them to be extremely rare. There's been an effort by the community to help increase the spawn rates of these enemies by dropping items around the world as you play that eventually turn into Drift Bags. If you have a Drift Bag spawn in your game and leave it alone long enough it can pass on to another person's world where it might eventually turn into a Vagrant.
Please do the DLC! I loved watching this playthrough and would love to see more!
The Age of Mythology soundtrack in the background really takes me back. very good choice
What a great way to start my Saturday 😊
Your run through Tomb of the Giants reminds me of my Sorcery-only playthrough. I made a point to clear out and explore as much of the area as possible (something I had never done up until that point) with the help of Homing Crystal Soulmass. Such an op spell lol
A painful request but... any chance for a similar gimmick/themed run for souls 2?
This series was so much fun to watch.
First person to actually fight Ceaseless Discharge legit in a challenge run ever
I love the vagrants, I was in Dukes Archives the other day helping randoms with Seath and when I came back to my world a evil vagrant spawned on the left bookshelf and shot me in the back with all the spikes. Gave me a good scare and laugh after it killed me.
Can we just appreciate the age of mythology music in the background? Love it.
A shorter runback for four kingsis from the darkroot bonfire. After the second elevator, jump the gap (skipping the stairs), and then roll 2-3 times (once to dodge thes ghost, and the rest to drop off the ledge). And then you're there!
Illusory wall actually did a video on the rarest enemy types! Vagrants are number two, with the gravelorded chaos eater taking number one.
I know that you already finished this run, but:
slumbering dragoncrest ring is your friend, if you wear that Seath can't hear you since he's blind, so you can attack him from anywhere and he'll just blindly attack trying to hit you.
It also works for avoiding Nito's giant buddies they don't aggro when you wear the ring. You can go further into the boss arena than just the front door.
imagining manus vs this build is already entertaining to me lol
please do the dlc too
\[T]/
the crystal set helm is my favorite looking armor so this is a gem of a vid
I’m glad you chose the link the flame ending, because now you’re cooking crystal.
the age of mythology music in the background
This was a really chilled and enjoyable challenge run to watch.
Take my like!
1:44 The first time I got to ToTG I had no idea sunlight maggot or skull lantern existed, so I did the whole thing in pitch darkness. I fell to my death dozens of times and got jumpscared by every giant, crawling skeleton along the way. Good times.
So glad to see the finale!! Let's goooo
These games age so well. I still rock a playthrough roughly every 18 months.
The sheer variety of weapons/armor makes them so much fun to replay. And they're short enough that it doesn't feel like a slog to get through.
I've played through DS2 almost a dozen times myself.
@@Hiushisan Nice!
@Hiushisan I just got the ds2 platinum and started getting burned out towards the end not my favorite but overall enjoyed the journey. Going for ds1 now && I've never actually played ds1 so I'm excited.!
Heck yes I have been waiting for this!!! The second I saw it I clicked it!
Ahhhh the Super Mega ULTRA RARE enemies of Dark Souls 1 haven't seen those in quite a while congrats on beating the main game with Crystal Only gear
Through out all my years playing souls games, I've never one seen a Vagrants. So this is definitely an eye opener for me. Thanks for showing that.
8:00 if you go on the right, jump over the lava, there is a small area which is more open for the player to confront the Sentipede Demon. You will take enough damage but if you manage to jump at the right time (it´s not that difficult) you will survive. Just don´t forget to drink an Estus afterwards.
I just wanna say...I love you, SunlightBlade. I watched you since 2015, when I sit in the blackout and watched your top 10 videos at night because electricity has been turned on at nights. Thank you for your content even 8 years after.
I genuinely like the two Crystal only videos keep it up
@@eightbitgameing3109 I did a crystal only run of the DLC as well in case you're interested! 🙂
Second rarest thing in dark souls: legitimately fighting ceaseless
You beat seaseless discharge LEGIT!?! Mad respect
Love the "mythic" music in the background ;D Took me back to a good nostalgia trip (lovely vid as always ofc
I adore you using AGE OF MYTHOLOGY background music!!
Do it... if for no other reason then being able to fight Artorias. A boss that always has a soft spot for me because that was the fight that things went from "Yeah, I understand these games now." to "OMG, I love these games."
Literally just learned about vagrants I have never seen one in my life and knowing there's still stuff i don't know about dark souls is pretty cool
That sif fight hits the feels more when you do the dlc before the fight.... Good doggo remembers you
Gwyn is a really hard, fun and cool boss... unless you parry, then he's just some old guy
Well done on completing the challenge dude! Must've been so hard mainly cuz of the various restrictions and the fact that you can't repair the actual Crystal Weapons (not the infused weapons). Very well done.
SunlightBlade: "It's been years since I completed a playthrough of Dark Souls 1."
Me: It's been years since you finished a video series. (Still waiting on Episode 2 of Spooky Bone Wheel Build you made in DS3.)
Aw sweet i watched part 1 yesterday and now i get to see part 2!
This video gave me flashbacks to farming titanite chunks, hours of my life I had happily forgotten
with AOM music in the back ground, its just perfect!!
0:10 skeleton jumpscare attack.
On my first playthrough I encountered many vagrants on my journey and never knew they are pretty rare to find
Love the Age of Mythology music, I've never heard anyone else use it in videos
Hey Sunlight, have you checked out InfernoPlus's Dark Souls Remastest mod? Crystal weapons are now catalyst hybrids!
Oh yeah, I saw his recent update video on it looks amazing!
Playing Dark Souls as I watched this video and not 4 minutes in I found an Evil White Vagrant of my own.
I was then promptly killed by it and the Anor Londo archers, but that doesn’t make it any less sweet
“Out of the darkness into the light”
Homeboy be rocking some mad Pantera.
Age of Mythology music is always pleasing to hear.
I so wanted to make a similiar run and seeing you do one made me want to go back to that idea. Also both the videos are great, congratulations!
This looked to be a really fun challenge! I might be misremembering but I'm surprised you didn't get invaded during this run at all.
I did in the first episode, wasn't human as much in the second part!
@@SunlightBlade So I *was* misremembering! Still, awesome run, Sunlight Blade! Always enjoyed your content and hope to see you in the DLC!
That was great. Even your voice is DarkSouls nostalgia ...
The first time I found a vagrant was at the beginning area in the asylum demons boss arena I was so excited I had never seen one before I beat the game dozens of times and put hundreds of hours into dark souls and that was the only and last vagrant I have ever saw
Ooo sunlight! You planning on doing a unique challenge like this for the other dark souls titles?
Would be a fun trilogy
okay, really wouldnt mind seeing the dlc beaten with this challange. really great video. :)
sunlight maggot
skull lantern
cast light
only sources of light in the game
>staring at a prism stone 3 feet away " are you sure about that?"
*The king has returned, BOYS! OUR SAVIOUR SUBLIGHTBLADE HAS RETURNED, OH REJOICE BOYS, HES BACK!!!*
The Age of Mythology music is a wonderful touch sir :)
I can hear that age of mythology music in the background lol
fighting gwyn no parry is one of the best experiences in all of Dark Souls
Yessss, join the ranks of Lemon as a patience elemental!
I don't know why my body said mask of the mother but I definitely pogged out when you got it.
Never seen a vagrant until the two I saw this week. Never seen them on any of my play throughs but I’ve seen the one on this video and the one on the most recent oneyplays dark souls 1 episode this week.
That background music brings back memories
Nooo!!! dont kill the poor vagrant, let him move to a new world for someone else to find
I've only ever seen 1 vagrant, and it wasn't until a couple years later i think till i even knew it was special
If you played it yesterday, then I left alot of stuff around before I died
I am really enjoying this challenge run. I hope we see the Crystal Knight in the DLCs as well
It's always funny to me to see people say that vagrants are super rare (which they are) even though I got 9 in 2 years on Nintendo Switch of all platforms
They are ridiculously rare. I have found like 6 myself but so many people have never found a single one and i feel sorry for them
The Vagrant sorta looks like the egg gywins youngest daughter is holding in the Ring city DLC just before Geal.
“Bone-wheels are so weak and pathetic in future souls games” red albinaurics would like to have a word
First time I've seen someone fight ceaseless normally
I met a vagrant for the first time today. It had the red invader hue and was very agressive
I just found my first Vagrant a week or so ago in Undead Asylum. I had no idea what it was lol.
Great run, would have been nice to see the Crystal Ember used, but great regardless.
I know its gonna be a good day when sunlight blade uploads
My first evil crab I got was in Anor Londo on the top part with the broken glass, I love Dark Souls I play 1 on my Switch lol
Kudos for beating Ceaseless the normal way.
The Hank Shrader build. They're minerals Marie
Guys don't tell him that crystal spells and weapons are pretty much the best dmg type in the game. Don't make him feel bad.
Can't believe you used a song from the Age of Mythology soundtrack! Fkn legend!!
I was playing this weekend and got 2 vagrants in less than 30 min. one white one in blighttown that disappeared before I could get to it, and a red one in ash lake that I got a screenshot of. never had 2 in one playthrough before.
I later walked blindly through the tomb because I knew the route. that was funny with the skeletonjumpscares xD
Eat your heart out "Can you beat DS with a [Normal Weapon]" people.
This. Is how you do a weapon challenge video!
Thank you for your hard work! \[T]/
0:32 never seen that creature in my 300 hours
Excellent video, thank you for finishing this! ❤❤❤
When I saw a vagrant, I had no ideas what I found. It wasn't till years later someone told me about them and I was like ohhhhhhh
I’ve seen two vagrants in 200 hours of play. One red that killed in me in the dlc (it fired it’s ranged attack from the darkness and I never saw it coming) and one white that I killed and got like 10 humanity from.
Age of Mythology music spotted! Sunlight u are a man of culture
Evil or not, rest in peace, fellow vagrant
First guy i see that fought ceaseless discharge legitimately
Gwyn has a move set reminiscent of crucible knight, most notably his stab attack when u heal
Super nice Video keep going with themed challanges like that
Lightning blade back at it again haha
having humanity in the top left corner actually increases item discovery (up to 10 humanity), so farming can be made easier with that + gold serpent ring
I was playing and ran into a vagrant I was like wtf is this thing because the video guide I was following didn't have it
awesome I have been waiting for this one 💪🏻
These two videos were great, with good commentary and footage. I think you probably could have done a little more to top and tail them though; the cutting in at the beginning and end ferls quite abrupt!
Let's good another crystal only vid
Nice video as always, cheers from Germany
