I will always remember my first vagrant encounter. It was my first playthrough and my friend was telling me where to go. I climbed the tower in the taurus demon boss room and there it was, right behind one of the hollows. It killed me instantly with that ranged attack. I thought it was a normal enemy until my friend told me that he had never seen it before in his original playthrough.
I had a Vagrant in my first playthrough as well which was an enormous surprise as I knew them to be extremely rare. There's been an effort by the community to help increase the spawn rates of these enemies by dropping items around the world as you play that eventually turn into Drift Bags. If you have a Drift Bag spawn in your game and leave it alone long enough it can pass on to another person's world where it might eventually turn into a Vagrant.
What a great way to start my Saturday 😊 Your run through Tomb of the Giants reminds me of my Sorcery-only playthrough. I made a point to clear out and explore as much of the area as possible (something I had never done up until that point) with the help of Homing Crystal Soulmass. Such an op spell lol
If for the crystal run he had to beat ds1 with the crystal set on, for the blidfold run he just has to beat ds3 with cornyx's headpiece... logic checks out
this is such a fun video, i really love when people do challenges around less used items, they can often be some of the best! or at the very least look really cool!!
I love the vagrants, I was in Dukes Archives the other day helping randoms with Seath and when I came back to my world a evil vagrant spawned on the left bookshelf and shot me in the back with all the spikes. Gave me a good scare and laugh after it killed me.
A shorter runback for four kingsis from the darkroot bonfire. After the second elevator, jump the gap (skipping the stairs), and then roll 2-3 times (once to dodge thes ghost, and the rest to drop off the ledge). And then you're there! Illusory wall actually did a video on the rarest enemy types! Vagrants are number two, with the gravelorded chaos eater taking number one.
A vagrant! My first ever playthrough I ran into an evil vagrant under the red drake without knowing what it was. Only months later did I figure out how rare they are.
The sheer variety of weapons/armor makes them so much fun to replay. And they're short enough that it doesn't feel like a slog to get through. I've played through DS2 almost a dozen times myself.
@Hiushisan I just got the ds2 platinum and started getting burned out towards the end not my favorite but overall enjoyed the journey. Going for ds1 now && I've never actually played ds1 so I'm excited.!
I just wanna say...I love you, SunlightBlade. I watched you since 2015, when I sit in the blackout and watched your top 10 videos at night because electricity has been turned on at nights. Thank you for your content even 8 years after.
8:00 if you go on the right, jump over the lava, there is a small area which is more open for the player to confront the Sentipede Demon. You will take enough damage but if you manage to jump at the right time (it´s not that difficult) you will survive. Just don´t forget to drink an Estus afterwards.
Well done on completing the challenge dude! Must've been so hard mainly cuz of the various restrictions and the fact that you can't repair the actual Crystal Weapons (not the infused weapons). Very well done.
I know that you already finished this run, but: slumbering dragoncrest ring is your friend, if you wear that Seath can't hear you since he's blind, so you can attack him from anywhere and he'll just blindly attack trying to hit you. It also works for avoiding Nito's giant buddies they don't aggro when you wear the ring. You can go further into the boss arena than just the front door.
Do it... if for no other reason then being able to fight Artorias. A boss that always has a soft spot for me because that was the fight that things went from "Yeah, I understand these games now." to "OMG, I love these games."
Playing Dark Souls as I watched this video and not 4 minutes in I found an Evil White Vagrant of my own. I was then promptly killed by it and the Anor Londo archers, but that doesn’t make it any less sweet
1:44 The first time I got to ToTG I had no idea sunlight maggot or skull lantern existed, so I did the whole thing in pitch darkness. I fell to my death dozens of times and got jumpscared by every giant, crawling skeleton along the way. Good times.
The first time I found a vagrant was at the beginning area in the asylum demons boss arena I was so excited I had never seen one before I beat the game dozens of times and put hundreds of hours into dark souls and that was the only and last vagrant I have ever saw
I just found my first Vagrant a week or so ago in Undead Asylum. I had no idea what it was lol. Great run, would have been nice to see the Crystal Ember used, but great regardless.
Never seen a vagrant until the two I saw this week. Never seen them on any of my play throughs but I’ve seen the one on this video and the one on the most recent oneyplays dark souls 1 episode this week.
having humanity in the top left corner actually increases item discovery (up to 10 humanity), so farming can be made easier with that + gold serpent ring

I feel like you could have *technically* used the Moonlight Greatsword as it's clearly a sword made out of a giant crystal. Nevertheless, cool run! I enjoyed seeing that.
Vagrants are such an exciting moment when you find one
Wait they're uncommon? I've already found 2-3 and i'm on my first run. No evil ones though.
@olivewooled1297 that's crazy I've finished the game 6 times
But just now found out they existed😂

how would you like me to do it? Keep it as is with crystal-only? Lmk :]
I think it's definitely worth attempting
give it a try with crystal only for sure :D
Yes plz
yes absolutely! i was a little dissapointed you didnt mention the dlc in the video, but i did have a fun time watching your playthrough!
Yeah do the dlc with only crystal
Fighting Gwyn legitimately instead of freehand parrying? Impressive.
have you tried doing it with a crossbow or just by poising through the attacks while 2 handing a long sword?

I don’t think I've ever seen anybody genuinely kill Ceaseless!

6:55 not sure why, but the Titanite chunk drop celebration danse followed by the arrow to the back + the cut is peak comedy timing
😂
I agree 100%. It was so perfectly timed in a way that would be near impossible to set up on purpose.
First person to actually fight Ceaseless Discharge legit in a challenge run ever
The Age of Mythology soundtrack in the background really takes me back. very good choice
This is the best dark souls challenge I have seen in a while

Pretty sure the darkwraiths drop titanite chunks quite commonly, and so are the best place to farm, rather than the sentinels in Anor Londo.
