Aaahhh …. I wish you had made this video two days ago!! I had to make a crown two days ago and it was awful! My peaks fell too far down. Ugh! Awful. What a good trick to “tape” it down with Crisco!! Thank you for your videos. You teach me so much and you are never confusing! Just please keep making videos.
Thank you for this! Such a coincidence, I just started watching crown tutorials for a lion cake I am making this week. You explain everything so well and give me all the details I need! Thanks Karolyn!!!
It appears you had so much fun doing this cake 👑 I was watching UA-cam on my TV and I had to go find my phone so I can give you a thumb up ! you are simply the best the greatest 🏆🎉 continual Blessings. Thanks for sharing 💜
Such beautiful and fun work. But wow! It’s time consuming. I do this for fun. Actually just starting. I’m always amazed at how much work goes in to each piece
You inspire me SO much!! Don’t remember what I was searching for and happened upon you. SO glad it happened! I’ve been binge watching your videos!!😂 2 requests: Looking for link to the black rolling pin that you use. And, I need to make a lacrosse stick. Saw the one that you did on one of your sports cakes. If you make another one anytime soon, please hit record!😂 Thank you for all that you do! You rock!!❤
Wow thank you so much for sharing your ideas and beautiful crown 👑 plus good explanation and I am amazed with your recipes of Doctorate box mix plus what a clean icing edges 👏👏🥰 love your work and special 🤗🤗 for you *to reply me briefly and quickly * God Bless you and your talent 😊
Dear Karolyn, I love you work. Thank you for you art 💕 During your video I came up with an idea …Would ist be possible to make a crown without backround. Like from the first mould only. That would be pretty 🫠 Hope you know what I mean 😁 Have you ever tried? Thank you, Helena
@@KarolynsKakes Thank you for your response. I ordered the Rolkem super gold yesterday from sugardelites. I actually spent over $100 in different products 🤣 . The cake at the end of the video. Thank you !💜
What if it's not too dry or too wet, but when it's kneaded out it kinda of tears? Not fall apart, but rips. Almost like it doesn't stretch. I remember you saying the corn syrup helps with the stretch, so is it too late to add a bit more or is there a different problem? Edited: Never mind, I just watched your "Don't Be Scared" video and turns out I did it right, just overthinking as always. See my problems aren't related to decorating, but instead with making things homemade. I'm use to using Wiltons buttercream and fondant, box mixes with a little extra somethin somethin here and there, and just plain Crisco for everything. You've encouraged me to try my hand at making things from scratch. Thanks for your help 😊.
Beautiful!! Do you have a video on your letter’s? They look great. I looked at “sweet stamp” but expensive. I know “my girl” (I feel like your a friend from the block)Karolyn has a inexpensive way😊

I really appreciate or if you have video can you plz give me link thank you in advance Waiting for your reply 🤗🤗
Water works for some decorations. Here's a video where I explain 5 different ways to stick decorations to cakes: ua-cam.com/video/gfc0heeMRmY/v-deo.html
You can, but the lemon extract will flavor the buttercream. So if people don't mind that taste, then it should be fine. I also feel like fondant gives a smoother finish than icing. Sometimes you can see the tiny imperfections in the icing when you paint it.
@@ROSHELLHOT28 When it's hot and humid here, I have the A/C in the house and the car (on deliveries) on BLAST. Like I'm freezing and need a sweater all the time! That keeps the environment cool enough where the cakes won't really sweat.
I don't think people really eat the decorations like this, maybe kids do. I mix the gold with lemon extract, so the crown will have a strong lemon flavor. It's edible, but I personally wouldn't eat it!
@@sherryforshee8274 Thank you!! I actually looked up horizontal lines roller and they have that too, that one is more like the one I use. I linked it in the description. I really appreciate it!

Hi Karolyn can u explain what a 3 D cake and cups are please
Will this crown taste good? After the added Crisco, after the corn starch. After sitting for a few days. Is it meant to eat or mainly for decoration?

Yes! You can do it plain and not have the details on there, I have done that before too!
Bellísimo
I love it! Would gold airbrushing work as well? Also, how did you make the lettering on the cake? Thank you in advance. Love your NJ girl lol 💜
Yes, I would also like to know what FONTS were used. Thank you… Beautiful Crown 👑 very well explained. Thank you Karolyn 💖
Which cake? I showed one in the beginning and one at the end.
And I don't like how gold airbrushing looks. And it clogs the airbrush so I don't prefer that method!

Will the water act as a glue for the fondant? Will it hold for a period of time? I bought the edible glue. Does water work the same?

Can you use the lemon juice/glitter method on buttercream??
You can, but the lemon extract will flavor the buttercream. So if people don't mind that taste, then it should be fine. I also feel like fondant gives a smoother finish than icing. Sometimes you can see the tiny imperfections in the icing when you paint it.
@@KarolynsKakes fondant definitely looks better and smoother! Thank you for taking the time to reply! You are the best!!
I know you did this 14" in length but how tall is the crown and what size is the top tier you put this on
It's about 5-6" tall on a 5" cake 😊
An oatmeal box is just the right size and height for the crown to dry on. It is 14 inches around.
This is wonderful, thank you!!
Do your cakes be cold when you put fondant on them or room temp?
Always cold so I don’t mess them up!

Vertical lines pattern decorative roller. 7" impression roller on Amazon.

Hi Karolyn, it looks like a spaghetti roller, the only difference is that the ones I saw were wood and had handles.
why dont you cut it off with a palette knife while it is in the mold?
Hi Karolyn, it is a P M E Smocking rolling pin.
