Great choices for shadow work and deep diving decks. I always find it funny when a deck looks cute and adorable but it ends up being a very blunt deck with a sense of humour.
Spot on for the Gaia tarot, and I have one suggestion you may be interested in!! 🌀Dreams of Gaia Tarot~ READ THAT BOOK!! It's there for you when you need it, and I highly recommend it!! As a reader I have to say, I do not pull cards from this deck for anyone but myself. I use this deck as a means of asking for clarification from my Guides on complications or issues I personally have, and I'm always guided to read from the book. I have yet to leave a 'conversation with Spirit' with a dry eye with this deck. Because of that book. The cards are a doorway to help you peek into your subconscious, and reading their meanings in that book blasts a hole through any blocks you have between yourself and the truth at the root of the inquiry.. I once asked about an experience I had in a meditation where something strange happened.. Something I couldn't process without the assistance of my Guides.. I was guided to shuffle until one card jumped out, and found myself looking at card #13 a few seconds later - "Union". That particular card and the meaning in the book not only directly explained my strange experience, it changed my entire perception of many things ....forever. Try the book sometime 💝 🌀I HIGHLY recommend~~~ 'MARY-EL TAROT, Landscapes Of The Abyss' by Marie White. I don't use the books usually because I read intuitively, but this is the one other deck that the book has had a profound effect on my perception. This deck and the book has altered the way I look at my spiritual development in many deeply profound ways. If there's another word that can describe the impact this deck and book have had on me and my shadow work, it eludes me. 'Profound' is the only word I can come up with. I have the second edition of this deck/book set, and I hold it so close to my heart because it's my visual and literary guidance from Spirit.. Directly. When I feel lost/broken, alone.... I pick up this deck. It's a straight line from point A to point Soul, and I've read every page in this book at least 3 times over. The meanings in the book make me cry almost every single time, and I feel so grateful I was guided to purchase it when I did. The images on the cards are cryptic, intimidating, somewhat dark, and a bit scary- much the way you would feel when thinking about diving into dark water... I guess that's what it feels like to stand at the threshold of your human consciousness and contemplate the truth of who we really are.. To contemplate ones subconscious self and our Souls truth. It's scary, and it's like staring into an abyss.. Thinking about whether we should dive or not. At one point or another, I've held each card and cried on it while reading the book. It pulls from somewhere in my heart that feels so vastly beyond my physical body. It's highly spiritual in nature, and brings balance between ones light and shadows in a way I can only describe as 'profound'. I leave each inquiry with a deep self acceptance I didn't have before. And I suggest only pulling 3 cards at a time... Maybe 5 if you have the time to really sit with yourself and think about how these cards and their meanings are illuminating something within that you didn't recognize before. Many blessings to you, thank you for this video 💝💝💝💝
*On the fan side of Osho Zen.* (And, I've vacillated with this deck too.) Have brought it in as both an Oracle and a tarot. These days, it has reworked it's way back into being a regular workhorse deck. I do note though, that if you don't pick it up often, it takes a little bit to re-familiarize with the suit symbols and renamed cards. All in all though, 3x ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
I'm about to embark on "a bit" of shadow work and was looking for tarot advice. Your video was one that came up on my search and, truthfully, the one that immediately saved. Your advice has been spot on, for me, previously and I knew that this would also be excellent. Thank you very much for this video.
The first deck that comes to mind is the Wicca Oracle and the Witches Tarot that really get me to think. I’m always amazed by the readings. Then the Enchanted Map, Joie de Vivre really puts a spin on things for me. I think partly because there’s a short paragraph/story about the character in the card. Similar to the Mystic Faerie Tarot. The Faerie Tarot by US Games is another one that really speaks to me. I was surprised how much I connected to it. Lucy Cavendish did an Oracle Tarot that I love. It gets right to the heart of things. - There’s no court cards. The Goddess Guidance cards also really kind of give me the kick I need when I’m in a low place. The decks I have but haven’t used yet that I think will be good for this are: The Osho Zen, The Wisdom Keepers, Vintage Wisdom, The Psychic Tarot Oracle Cards, The Star Tarot, The Chrysalis Tarot. Funny story about the Lucy Cavendish deck. I used to live in a valley that really only had one little shopping center and if I wanted anything special I had to drive over the hill about 20 minutes. So I wanted this certain kind of chocolate bar and drove over the hill to this sort of underrated gourmet grocery store. Inside it had combined a health food store, toy shop, and then the groceries. I loved walking through there and was doing that on this night when I spotted a section that had decks of cards, candles, oils, incense etc. I was immediately drawn to the Lucy deck but it was opened/unsealed. So I wrote down the name and drove home. Looked online and people were selling it for A LOT of money and I was so disappointed. Back in the car I go, back over the hill to look at the deck again. (Same night). I looked at the price $22 and took the box up front. I asked the cashier if it would be ok if I counted the cards since the box was open and they let me. ALL THE CARDS WERE THERE and I happily left with my Lucy deck all because of the chocolate bar. It was meant to be and a powerful deck for me. ❤️
AngelicMichele oh I should’ve included the Enchanted Map! And you’ve piqued my curiosity with your description of the Joie de Vivre! And that story of the Lucy deck is amazing! Sounds like it was definitely worth that second trip!!
Katey Flowers if you want to have a look at the Joie de Vivre you can buy it in the App Store for most phones/tablets for about $3.99. I sometimes do that first because you can explore the cards and the book or in this case the LWB and see if it all resonates.
My favourite decks for shadow work are still the Golden tarot of the Tsar, Ludy Lescot Tarot, and the Book of Shadows tarot Volume 1. Looking to get some more new decks which can however be balanced in its energies without feeling too feminine.
In the last 3 months I have watched pretty much all of your videos which are very good the first deck you're showing in this video was my first Tarot deck ever definitely tell the truth especially with the card with the lightning strike in the face in the mountain of a sleeping man. Great video ♒💜
Thank you so so much for your such a beautiful explanation about your decks...im new to tarot...just today I have purchased 2 oracle deck...thank you again !! Sending hugs and love !!,
So many I haven't seen yet, great picks. I tend to go with really dark ones for shadow work but it would be fun to try it with a lighter one to see what comes out. Cheers! =)
Great choices, Katey! I love Tarot of Transformation and the Fifth Tarot for deeper soulwork and the Weaver‘s Oracle too. My beloved Tarot of the Hidden Realm works for both, deep & shadow work. Thank you for sharing. Haven‘t seen the Liminal in a while ... You look lovely btw xxx
Tarot of Transformation and Fifth Tarot look so interesting. I’ve heard others say similar things about the Hidden Realms, too! Thanks for adding to the list, and thank you, too, for your very kind words! ☺️
I used to work with the book for Dreams Of Gaia tarot till I saw one of your videos. So today I asked it the three questions you suggested. It clearly said use my intuition. The book will give me some answers but if I use my own intuition, I will get so much more out of it.
Really great choices. I was waiting for the Crone on this list, haha. And I agree with Every. Single. Word. That you said about it. Hoo boy, yes. And for me the Dark Goddess Tarot, also by Ellen Lorenzi-Prince, is similarly deep-diving. It's hugely empowering for me too - all those images of absolutely kick-ass goddesses from so many cultures. ✊ I turn to it when I need a big kick up the backside to get me going. I don't have the Liminal but oh, that Sun card! 😍😻 It reminds of Where the Wild Things Are. 💕 Also, you look extra pretty in this vid! 💖
Oh I'm glad I made sense describing Tarot of the Crone! Sometimes I worry I just sound a bit silly! But it is such a powerful deck, words can feel a little insufficient, you know? And thank you! That is very nice of you to say! :D xx
Hello! New here and am very curious. What’s the “Which Lilith?” Book?? I’ve seen a few videos and each one my eyes keep going to that book.. also wanted to say I love your videos you’re very helpful so far and your voice is very soothing? lol and I understand you very well and what you’re saying which is rare usually I have to rewatch or relisten cause it doesn’t stick but what you say does stick c: so thank you for making videos and helping others understand tarot 💕 glad I found your channel ☺️
Hello! Lovely to meet you :) I have done a review on Which Lilith? which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/npuluOJAt2I/v-deo.html Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos :)
I think the Osho Zen would be perfect for shadow work. Thanks for the recommendation. I am doing a shadow work course and will be sure to do a VR to let you know how it went.
I bought both the Dreamtime cards and Dreams of Gaia cards last month. Absolutely love both for the artwork. Still learning how to use both of them though.
Both are powerful and deep decks, so it can take a while to really get into them. But the time has been totally worthwhile for me, so I hope it is for you, too! Enjoy your new decks!
So, I've just added 6 decks to my wishlist after watching this - lol. I only have the Dreams of Gaia and Wisdom Keepers. They are both intense but wonderful decks. The Tarot deck that I go to the most is the Druid Craft Tarot, but that's probably because it's my "home" deck. I also use Les Vampires and The Oracle of Shadows and Light for shadow work.
A few people have mentioned the Wildwood in response to this question, so it’s interesting you mention the Druid Craft! And a lot of people have mentioned Les Vampires, too!
how does sitting with a deck look like? say you pull a card you said you sat with one for a year. Do you journal daily? do you start with own thought and build upon it? does the meaning change for you often?
I like the tarot of transformation for diving deep and doing introspective analysis of my shadows and weakness and you know I love your videos and I think that the liminal tarot looks really beautiful. How lovely 👻🧛♀️🧝♂️🧟♀️🧞♂️🧜🏽♀️🧚♂️🧚♀️🧜♂️👒🦁🦋🐿🍀🍄🥀🌈☔️🌶🥒🥐🥨🍭🍩🌰🚀🗽🚬🔮📿🧡♐️☮️🕉⚛️☣️⚜️🇦🇺🏳️🌈

Not tarot related, but you look really lovely in this video. I love the colors of the flowers on that shirt. They look great on you!
steph merr that’s awfully kind of you to say! ☺️❤️
I agree! Love the pretty blouse, but also thought your hair looked great. *Clearly, your inner radiance shinning through, Katey. * ♥️
I agree 😍🤍🦋
I agree!
Great choices for shadow work and deep diving decks. I always find it funny when a deck looks cute and adorable but it ends up being a very blunt deck with a sense of humour.
I think those are my favourite kinds of decks!! 😅❤️

Hi Katey, I came back to see a previous video just because I like your topics so much.

Hello! Lovely to meet you :) I have done a review on Which Lilith? which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/npuluOJAt2I/v-deo.html
Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos :)
Thanks for the video. Happy fall equinox. Its spring in the USA finally.
Thank you for sharing this video! It really helped me 🙏🏻❤️
I think the Osho Zen would be perfect for shadow work. Thanks for the recommendation. I am doing a shadow work course and will be sure to do a VR to let you know how it went.
I look forward to hearing about how it goes :)

Both are powerful and deep decks, so it can take a while to really get into them. But the time has been totally worthwhile for me, so I hope it is for you, too! Enjoy your new decks!
I dont have many decks in my collection yet, but I find myself picking up Thoth when I want to focus on shadow work
Psycho-spiritual. Thanks for that word!!! My psychology is always spiritual and my spirituality is always psychological. Lol

Thank you for the great analysis

Random and off subject but love that shirt! It's gorgeous on you! :)
Thank you, Steph! It is a new favourite of mine - so summery! :D
Why thank you for sharing !!
Spiral Tarot (and all of her decks) are so wonderful. The Devil is one of the creepiest but also awesome lol.
It is rather creepy, isn’t it?! I don’t have any of her other decks at the moment, but I’m hoping to pick up the Celestial Tarot soon!
Katey Flowers I can’t recommend her decks enough. Her Oracle is also amazing (especially if you’re into Greek pantheon). They are all my go to’s.
Is it just the three she has? I might have to look into the oracle deck!
Katey Flowers Yes, just the three :)
Awesome! I might have to look into getting the whole set the, eh? 😊

I have been hoping to find the Next World Tarot - But it's sold out. I guess it's being released soon.
Yep, it is OOP, but I've heard that the creator is investigating reprinting options, so fingers crossed!
With the water sprite tarot does it not include the wands/cups/swords/pentacles in the pictures in the minors? It’s so pretty.....
It does in some, but not in most. It is very pretty, I love it :)
Thank you - I think it’s going on my wish list 🦋
Osho zen kinda looks like an oracle deck too.
Hi Katey
Where in Oz are you?
I’m in Melbourne.
Katey Flowers I’m in Perth, I’d like to see your collection when next in Melbourne, I’m jealous!
I made a video sharing my tarot deck collection recently! 😊
