Love your honesty, admitting to small mistakes. ALL of my successes have built in mistakes - just makes them more realer! And, good to hear an Aussie on YT!
Thanks mate. I think as hobbyists we need to give ourselves a bit of a break. I know I’m never going to be a “this old Tony” or even a “blondi hacks”. For me it’s the adventure that draws me to making stuff.
This style of tap wrench is deceptively complex. It makes sense to make a proper detail drawing to catch the fit and proportions. I made a series of 3 wrenches of this design from small to large and purposely did not include knurling on the "working" ends of the handles. The idea being that I did not want to be holding onto a file. If you do any amount of heavy tapping you will quickly understand why. A pretty good first effort all the same.
All true. But I love the look and feel of a finished product in stainless. AND I was pretty sure I could build it in mild steel, so wanted the challenge of stainless.
Hindsight is always 20-20 vision. If we could see the future with the same clarity, we’d all be lottery winners. Nice build sir! 🤘😎

Nice work.
Thanks mate. Appreciate you commenting
Would you be able to share what drawings you made?
Best I could do is suggest you screenshot the drawing. UA-cam doesn’t give me the ability to share files.
Its a functioning useful tool, use it proudly! I would. cheers

Thank mate. Good observation on the knurling.
Why insist on stainless when you know how tough it is. ,One mistake and you bust a $50 tap………it just ain’t worth it!!
