Thank you for bringing this back to light! The bias against the Dagestani fighters is insane. I can’t believe there were so many salty fans about Volk coming up short against a depleted Islam. Anybody can rewatch that fight and see that Islam had the control, takedowns, and some stuns as well as having Volk drop to a knee in one of their exchanges. I love that you brought up evidence that Volk was the heavier fighter during their fight and Volk’s team tried desperately to make this excuse that Islam was this weight bully beating up a 145er.
Volk is a 200-lb. rugby player fighting 145ers. He even called the other 145ers "tiny" back when he was fighting Max for the first time. Idk how he ever escaped any weight bully accusations. Idk how Oliveira could literally get stripped for missing weight, but Islam gets called the weight bully instead when he never missed weight. How did Tony win a WW tournament, move down to 155, and no one ever said a thing when he walked around at 200 pounds?
People lied about Khabib being scared of welterweight, when all the top WW's at the time were either failed LW's (Masvidal, Chiesa, Burns), decision wrestlers with submission losses who gave up takedowns to lightweights or strikers (Usman, Covington), wrestlers who rarely used their wrestling offensively (Woodley), other decision fighters (Edwards), or never-champs with double digit losses who lost to mostly wrestlers (Maia, Masvidal). But when Islam wants to move up, now he's somehow scared of a FW he just beat?
Tony was the last to pull out because he tripped, and Khabib actually showed up but gets criticized because his original opponent couldn't be bothered. He then gets attacked again when stupid Tony takes a meaningless fight he ended up losing rather than just waiting a few extra months. Similar thing when Dariush pulled out against Islam.
And then there's people trying to meat-ride Volk, Oliveira, or Usman as super-active champions at the expense of the Dagestani champions, even though Volk only starting fighting twice a year as champion for the first time just last year, Oliveira has just one defense, and Usman rematched back-to-back guys who didn't deserve it and essentially padding his reign. Islam hasn't even been champion for a year yet, but people are already crying about him being inactive, as if it's his fault challengers can't get ready for him.
These Dagestani haters have steady been getting exposed since the aftermath of UFC 229. That was like their 9/11 lol, and they've been coping ever since.

It was the worst I've seen Islam in cage, even as he walked-in, in terms of health. Islam still defeated the P2P king on his worst weight-cut. I'm sure the Aussies timed the weigh-ins in a way that suited the guy coming up. They went above and beyond to use the home turf to their advantage. All this "we got receipts" is just them doing more of it. If anything, I was surprised by how Volk didn't even look tired for a second in there after 25 min of defending wrestling. If you guys are not familiar with Australian sports, they're notorious for cheating in international sports. Just look into cricket, for example.
