God, this record. I can't understand those who dismiss this album as 'too cerebral, too avant-guard blah blah'. If that trumpet at 3:32 doesn't make you tear up you can't be my friend.
Fragment Two so has to be a reference to fragment 2 in Parmenides, just looking at the way the video was shot in one long take, reflecting a single unified reality( crudely, the Parmenidian position). Smart guys, the puritans.
Wonderful music and video, it's a masterpiece! I love when the bottle is broken. That sound of it combines so much with all the music and this part is different from the album :)
Starting at 2:57, I mean. The beginning of the video looks to be showing the northeast side of the valley, then swinging south, cutting for the interior shot, then coming almost full circle and ending up facing north-northwest.
Incredible video. Would it be possible to re-upload it with the clean audio from the album version? There’s a lot of popping in this audio. For instance 0:59
Interesting that you call it that. Those are the Grand Tetons in the background and the peaks you see to the left, from that vantage point they are called "the Cathedral Group" for resembling the spires of a cathedral. Where the band itself is standing would be near the shores of Jackson Lake, directly across from Mount Moran. The city lights are photoshopped in.
I think one reason why it's similar to Radiohead is because it doesn't follow the standard sequence of a song, it just sounds like a composition, where they've just added any instruments they want. It doesn't really sound like a particular Radiohead track, but I reckon it's as ambitious as them.
I was very lucky to live in Jackson, and the view is so distinctive, especially Skillet Glacier on Mt Moran, it draws the eye. Sadly not many know about Grand Teton National Park, even though it is only 60 miles south of Yellowstone. I have seen some of the Secrets in Plain Sight on Google Earth, my favorite is the gila monster south of Juarez Mexico. For the tracking shot I want to say round, but the hills on the east side of the valley are not nearly as distinctive.
These guys sound is immense. I had to wiki transposition. I hear it now. I guess I heard it before but never knew what it was. Do you feel knowing the melodic, structural, etc, processes and techniques of music enhance your listening experience? I don't make music, but i am an avid listener. Like most I notice links but I tend to choose to stay ignorant to the processes in fear of becoming too (for lack of a better word) critical or logical maybe is better . Am i missing out?

The drumming and trumpet duet outro in this song is so legendary
@@balloonfiesta15 The transition to the double pianos is severely brilliant
the way they change the piano tunes at 2:43 , and THAT trumpet in the end. So amazing

Seriously, been thinking the exact same thing for months. Good ear.
+cameron pagett
One of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard.
Des frissons tellement ce morceau est beau...
Beautiful ending...i dunno why, it sounds like something that would play in my head as I was accepting defeat.

Sweetly beautiful.

THE PERSON ON VIBES I AM SCREAMING
Sorry, I play that, marimba, and xylophone, and they're never used in stuff--at least, not so explicitly.

Around longer, it was beautiful

COLL LA CHANSON
impressing
My 15 yo son said, it sounds like Nirvana😂😂😂
Avant Guard Ars Nova Nouveau, couldnt be any finer diviner you know, do you know?
It would be good Thom Yorke from Radiohead to sing this
haha it actually does.
Why does Allah have to wear a pushup bra?
i see what you did there :D
the songwriting/orchestration are good but the singer's voice is a bit too Thom York-ish
Weird! Hahah
. I despise Radiohead
Does anyone even know what a Puritan even is in this confusing modern world of memes?
