Ima be honest. I only died from amelia once. and I replayed this game 9 times or more. I never had her heal infront of me but to stop her healing use numbing mist. aaaand amelia was easiest boss for me.

For the record, you're either supposed to out damage Amelia's healing, or use the numbing mist. One of her legs and arms are crushable so just alternate between hitting those and she'll crumble. Also, although Ludwig's Holy Blade is generally great, having either the Saw Spear or Cleaver with their serrated damage can trivialize this boss fight, especially if upgraded to +6
True. Also you can break her arms. When she glows and does not heal she is fixing her arm and she cannot heal without both of her arms. Breaking her arms only stops healing as far as I know. Don't give up Afro.

Thought the exact same thing I feel that most cases of dying in the soulsbourne series are because people rush and are way to greedy if people were a tad more patient they wouldn't have to rage quit and/or delete the game but at the same time learning that and overcoming a boss is one of the most funnest feelings of all time
Afro you should just restart the game to get back into the feel of the game. You did pretty good for a year long break but there was a lot of stuff/mechanics u missed that could’ve made the fighter easier. Glad we got a Bloodborne video tho much love.
You cant dodge while sprinting, you instead jump which doesnt have I frames. Also theres an item which i forget its name but it can stop people including the boss from healing its found in the area you're at. Just go up a ladder next to the lil summoning thingy for a friend to help you

Afro, if you ever want to beat Bloodborne, you will probably have to adapt your play style. Here are some general tips: 1. If you’re doing very little damage, it is always a good idea to go explore some more and search for upgrades. Brute forcing your way through areas and bosses will make the game a nightmare to play and drain any semblance of fun. 2. Bloodborne has two methods of healing: rally and blood vials. Most of the time it may be a more viable option to keep attacking to get your health back instead of only backing up to heal. 3. You have tools at your disposal that you need to decide how to make best use of, like Sekiro. The gun is useful for parrying and knocking over dogs. Most untransformed weapons are faster but offer less damage. Transformed modes (usually) offer more damage at the cost of not being able to parry. Switching between all three in any given fight is what makes a good hunter. For Amelia, if you had two handed ludwigs blade it might be better because you can’t use your gun anyway. 4. It’s fun to watch you rage, but trust me, as a rage-prone gamer myself, rage does nothing but cloud your judgement capabilities in a fight. I had to learn how to set aside my anger when a boss clapped my cheeks so I could properly think about how I could beat it. Can’t tell you how many times a boss would destroy me relentlessly one day, only for me to come back and beat them first try the next day after I had cooled off. Keeping your cool really matters. 5. The dodge button timing differs on how you use it. Locked on, you will quick step. This is more precise, allowing you to punish and get back in the fight. Unlocked dodge is a roll with longer I frames. You may want to try switching between locked and unlocked depending on if you’re trying to get away or trying to sidestep an attack you know is coming. The running jump you kept getting hit by was not a dodge. It was a jump, and you had no I frames. I hope you finish this amazing game, but don’t do it at the cost of your sanity! Afro, some stuff you're missing in the order it happened in the video - 1) "WTF am I doing?" Switch attacks. Any attack into switching forms before the attack ends (including dodges) triggers a unique attack with unique properties, and you can weave them into unique combos. 2) "I feel like I'm pressing circle but not dodging" You were sprinting. If you press circle while sprinting, you'll jump instead of dodging. This can be useful for reaching otherwise unreachable ledges, but it has no I-frames making it useless for dodging. Two fixes for this, either only sprint when out of combat, or go to the options menu and set the jump command to L3 instead of circle - this makes jumping wonkier, but fixes missed or wonky inputs. 3) "Is she healing in front of me?" Sorta. Some beast type enemies, particularly bosses, have limb damage. Cleric Beast and Vicar Amelia are good examples. If you attack a specific limb over and over, it'll stun the enemy, you'll see a spray of blood and the limb will bleed more when you attack it. It increases the damage you do (cos you've effectively broken their "armor"), reduces the damage they do and somewhat changes the moveset of the boss. Bosses that have limb damage can repair their limbs though, which is the light thing you're seeing on Amelia. Hope this helps!
...and I thought I got greedy when a boss is on low LMAO! AfroSenju got me beat by a mile! This man just throw caution to the wind when that health bar is looking light right before getting stun locked to death.
Yo man thanks for the entertaining clip! I love watching people get into Bloodborne when they're fresh. Fr fr all you have to learn is dodge timing and positioning for Amelia and most other bosses/enemies. You had it most runs on Amelia but when you run and press dodge again while running it made you jump into the attacks. Seems crazy but stay close, let her whiff her attacks while you dodge to the side WITHOUT RUNNING and it gives you invincibility frames to get through that attack. Then give her a good 2-3 hits before resetting your position in front of her. Walking towards her side then timing the dodge will let you get around to her back. Focus on one limb until it breaks, then move on to the next. Rinse repeat until you stun and can visceral or she dies. Edit: Her healing ability can be overcome by pressuring her so she doesn't have a moment to start the heal animation OR there's an item that looks like holy water. Scarce at the beginning but you can find a few somewhere. Throw it at her when she stops moving to heal near the end of the fight and she won't be able to heal for a while. Works on enemy hunters when you PvP too.
Bloodborne is all about dodging and being aggressive, once you get hit don’t runaway to heal but dodge the next move and get heal yourself by hitting back.
Darkbeast Paarl is optional. Only benefit to beating it, apart from blood echoes, is you can buy bolt paper and Tonitrus weapon from the bath messangers in the hunters dream. Throw numbing mist at Vicar Amelia to stop her from healing. She is also weak to fire, so if you have any fire papers use them. Good luck :)

Afro, the main rule for big monster bosses in this game is "stick to that booty", never stand in front of it. Also, if you dodge while spring, you get a jump not a dodge. Finally, don't back-dodge too much, bosses usually have a built in attack to punish back-dodging.

Running and then dodging makes you jump, not dodge, which is why you got hit a lot while doing that.

Seems crazy but stay close, let her whiff her attacks while you dodge to the side WITHOUT RUNNING and it gives you invincibility frames to get through that attack. Then give her a good 2-3 hits before resetting your position in front of her. Walking towards her side then timing the dodge will let you get around to her back. Focus on one limb until it breaks, then move on to the next. Rinse repeat until you stun and can visceral or she dies.
Edit: Her healing ability can be overcome by pressuring her so she doesn't have a moment to start the heal animation OR there's an item that looks like holy water. Scarce at the beginning but you can find a few somewhere. Throw it at her when she stops moving to heal near the end of the fight and she won't be able to heal for a while. Works on enemy hunters when you PvP too.

Bloodborne is all about dodging and being aggressive, once you get hit don’t runaway to heal but dodge the next move and get heal yourself by hitting back.

Darkbeast Paarl is optional. Only benefit to beating it, apart from blood echoes, is you can buy bolt paper and Tonitrus weapon from the bath messangers in the hunters dream.
Throw numbing mist at Vicar Amelia to stop her from healing. She is also weak to fire, so if you have any fire papers use them.

Afro, the main rule for big monster bosses in this game is "stick to that booty", never stand in front of it. Also, if you dodge while spring, you get a jump not a dodge. Finally, don't back-dodge too much, bosses usually have a built in attack to punish back-dodging.
Bro I feel your pain. I want to play this game but idk what to do, where to go and how to get past certain spots and honestly it's too much to get invested. Last I played was over a year ago and I beat the blood starved beast and i was stuck at the jail with the crackhead bagmen.

I pray one day Afro comes back to this game and realises sprinting at the boss and pressing roll makes the character jump. Like he would have beat this boss easy had he relaxed and not held circle. This game isn’t about s, it’s about precise steps dodges and strafes.
