- This is my final 4th year film made at Sheridan College in Ontario during the 2007/08 school year.
The music is "L.O.V.E." Sung by Peggy Lee. Everything else was made by me (Abbey Paccia.) I hope you enjoy!

StageLined Productions. Yeah, I heard a tale about a girl who was on a budget & cuz of that she couldn't get her hair done as often as she wanted. (Beehives weren't a D.I.Y. Job) She left her hair unwashed for months & ended up having Cockroaches Nesting in her Beehive Hairdo.

The the creator- you rock! I was afraid it was gonna be another "oh its ugly now and she doesn't want it but it turns beautiful later and she regrets it" thing so many have done. But this is 1000% better. The ending was so cute. And I kinda think that hair works for her. They're both cute in their own way. Props on this, for style and creativity.

But yeah, while I do acknowledge that is also a possibility, about it growing into it's beauty, I kind of hope it's not the case. Since it still kind of implies that traditional beauty is the goal or "reward". I like it a lot better if it's more about finding your own beauty and acceptance. If they stay looking how they are, that's okay, they're still cute/beautiful in their own way.
@@KeyWiteWolf Alot of your worry on what it'd end up being is less a reward or even regret thing nor even about traditional beauty standards.. what you feared was going to happen and equating the matter to traditional beauty is the goal or "reward" is most of the times not the case and odd to view it as such unless you are unfamilar with the very old trope and fact such story telling devices stem from extremely old morality tale tropes that while contrived and over used now still has a place in media childerns media to a degree.. where one is to show the truly ugly one is who has a petty and vien view of what beauty is by making them learn what they wrote off as ugly was truly beautiful they just never took the time to realize it .. A.K.A the one truly ugly was the one who started out pretty rather then who started out ugly.. As one was ugly inside the other was pretty on the inside
While the other case was actually a moral tale of saying be loving and supportive is its own reward and good things will come to kind and loving people thus not a reward scenerio at all
Both are basically morality tales atleast indirtly linked with Karma in a way .
@@lloydlandrum3040 Ah, no no, you misunderstood. I am familiar with the examples you gave, and I am fine with those versions. The only one I was worried about is the specific trope/scenario, where everyone wants this pretty thing, and someone gets an "ugly" one instead, but by loving it in spite of it being "ugly", it turns into the pretty thing, or often an even prettier version, of the pretty thing everyone wanted in the first place. This one bugs me because it basically says that the reward for accepting the inner beauty of something in spite of it's outward appearance, is outward beauty. Also this version usually lacks anything like the petty or judgemental one(s) having any negative outcome. But again, I was only really worried about that one specific version. The ones you gave as examples are much better versions, and ones that I think are good and teach decent lessons. Also the video itself does as well. All of those are better than the one version I was trying to refer to, though I apologize if I did not explain myself well enough the first time. I do have problems with that at times. Hope this made more sense.
I don't know why this was recommended to me again after so many years but I'm happy to watch it again.

Why tf is it when animators try to make an Ugly/Intimidating character design it always ends up looking either cute or awesome XD
Seriously though, it’s like the same case with Beast or Quasimodo.
Becuase at the end of the day people are simple, they don't like things being to ugly.
Because for all 3 cases, that's clearly intentional and a part of their character, and even Beast is part of the whole hidden heart of gold thing or whatever, there are no accidents with them. :p
As for ones that are, I wouldn't know, LOL. XD

Why are people trying to deny the obvious truth that some people are ugly and some are beautiful? And most are just average
I agree about personality being usually more important than looks though, for instance you can fall for an ugly person if they're funny/smart/other things you see as qualities, and that looks don't matter that much when it comes to friends
The part I love was that she didn’t immediately try to get rid of it, just because it wasn’t “perfect”. So many animations go the “same” sorta way (with differences, of course, but you know what I mean) so I just assumed she’d outright hate on it, but she didn’t. She tried to help. That’s a nice change to the usual “you’re not what I asked for, so I refuse to accept you”.
Agreed a nice twist and a proper subverting expectations unlike actual big budget stuff attempt and fail at
When she opened the box and I saw the unicorn, I actually squealed. I know it's not what most people would think adorable, but that design is so similar to when I would draw unicorns when I was nine. I love this so much.

PrettyKitty_ Bunny. You're right there. The Unicorn was young, if you are familiar with the Ugly Duckling Story you'd know what I mean. Still you have to give the kid credit for the attempted makeover, she was clearly not the type to judge completely on appearance. Besides, the Unicorn's Powers were in good working order, far better than having a pretty but useless Unicorn.

I get the message in the story it doesn't matter what you are on the outside it matters what you are in the inside. So the unicorn is not pretty like other unicorns but it is different and has magic inside.
I think it was showing that the unicorn had kindness. It saved her life, and tried to make her feel better by putting the wig on her after she lost her hair. It wasn't about magic.

The part when the girls hair caught on fire is one of the many reasons why I don't iron my hair.
One time I burned my hair so I had to cut it short
one time I got gum in my hair from trying to do the whole gum behind the ear movie sequence. I was sadly forced to put peanut butter in my gorgeous golden locks.... poopy.
