Perry Como Live - Once Upon a Time
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall. November 28, 1962.
With Mitchell Ayers' Orchestra.
"Bye, Bye, Birdie" and "It's a Bird - It's a Plane - It's Superman!" are among the Broadway shows of Lee Adams and Charles Strouse. The two also had a brief entry on the Great White Way titled "All American", and though it came and went without making much of a ripple in the season of 1962, "Once Upon a Time", the love song from the show, remained behind. Unlike the Adams-Strouse hits "Put On a Happy Face" and "I Want To Be with You", it is a sad and poignant reminiscence of all the things that happened or might have happened in the long ago.
(notes from "The Incomparable Como" Readers Digest UK compilation 1975)
In my opinion this the best version of this beautiful song
I agree, even better than the other Como renditions you can find on UA-cam. Funny, though, the sound mixing here is of (I mean, the original TV recording)f, the orchestra is far too strong.
Absolutely!
Frank Sinatra does it best! But this is still good.
that is my opinion also!
Check out AL Martino
who even looks like this in 2024? that's a singer
One of the most beautiful songs in the world!
very true
Best vibrato in a tenor I have ever heard.
A great man with a beautiful voice
He adds an extra something all his own to the flawless song. Just the right shading, loved it!
Beautiful
Perry had such a beautiful voice his rendition of this song is definitely the best ever.Full of emotion and feeling.Such a magnificent singer.Absolutely wonderful.Never fails to move me listening to him sing.He had the voice of an angel.
Yes, he did, didn't he?/ Always..a pleasure, just lifted up..& listening to him.🌹
Mr C never disappointed. He made it look like a stroll in the park. An absolute master!! Thank you as always.
You are welcome, Judy 😉
yes he did!
Beautiful song with a beautiful voice... Thanks for the memories Perry...
Como was such a unique talent, he was able to make any song he sang his own. This is by far the best version of this song I have ever heard.
My mother and I used to watch Perry's TV show on Wednesday nights. He was one of my mother's favorites. Many good memories watching and listening to this. One of my all time favorite songs also.
Effortless and smooth. Always brings a tear
Perry was such a gem, such a talent. It's so sad he is nearly forgotten by the public.
He's not forgotten, we're proof of that.
@@alicatherriott4751 how true. We used to watch him and my grandmother would swoon over him. I still do.
"where did it go" . . . this really hits home.
Perhaps my favorite recording by Perry, from his most poignant album, "By Request". At 50 years of age, he never sang better. Thanks for posting this wonderful live version for all to see what a wonderful talent he was.
You are welcome Jimmy!
Perry was a wonderful singer with his soft voice and sang the songs he felt good about singing.
A lovely performance of a wonderful song.
Beautiful,tender,poignant .💙💙
Love the song and love Perry.
La dulzura y sentimiento que encalidece nuestro corazón son inigualables . Gracias por tanto . Mí padre siempre me dijo que era el mejor y sin duda sus gestos su calidez brotan de su alma más pura . ❤
From one of the most perfect albums Perry ever did.
Thank you Mr. Perry como , for this song n all the others who made my parents so joyful thanks to yt for posting him itx just a great delight !!!! 😊 on my tablet
You are welcome! ☺
Just brilliant. Makes it seem so easy.
One of my favorites! Such easy listening. Mama and I loved Perry Como’s show, Daddy didn’t like it, but I didn’t know that. Perry’s show was so good!
Possibly, the best version of this Lee Adams and Charles Strouse classic. Similar, musically and lyrically to Charles Trenet's En Ce Temps La', in French.
My late father’s fav singer. Listened to him on a record player in Perth, Scotland in the 50’s.
Great performance of a perfect song. But what an oddly shot segment.
❤Yes, once upon a time...never comes again. ❤
Superb
This is a beautiful rendition of this song.♥ Thanks for posting!
You are welcome!

Perry Como and Al Martino, best versions I think.
great !
Smooth gentle
Listen to Tony Bennett he sings this also. Beautifully
He always seemed so polite, and low key to me. But sang well.
What does this song tell, when one is deeply in love?
Is there a CD available with this song on it ? I ;ovbe this version ...
💙
Better than fantastic.
He also gave a good haircut
Where did itgo
Perry Cuomo sings it beautiful, but my favorite is song by Tony Bennett. Still brings tears to my eyes 😢
Thank you
Only one perry
What show is this from?
Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall
Do you know the date of this show? Thanks!
@@kirktolchin808 yes, in description - November, 28 1962
This is a great version... Tony Bennett's is pretty stellar too...
What
Mr Como has a nice voice but he lacks the beautiful phrasing and musicality of Bobby Darin.
This is way too over orchestrated. I prefer the Tony Bennett version.
Beautiful
