As much as I'm an Alonso fan... I still have to say Sargent was the bigger meme because he had more consistency in being the biggest meme. Alonso went through blips especially at the beginning, but Sargent wins through consistency.

To be honest, I would even give Tommy a full point for Hulk. I mean for real, he placed that Haas so many times into Q3, where it totally does not belong. You can not simply do more than that. He showed his brilliance to be honest, just to get rekt in race because of the abysmal race speed of the Haas.
Piastri is the biggest meme. Awkward side eye Jetpack man reaction. “Wonderful” response to Qatar quali lap deletion. “Thank you Mercedes” or “Haa” response to Lewis crashing into Russell. Or memes about driving for McLaren and not Alpine. Or “Ohhhh Oscar Piastri” chant to Seven Nation Army at the fan stage after Silverstone.
The plank violation are milimeters but to remind everybody: the plank itself was only 1 cm thick so the 2mm is 20% of the plank removed due to wear on average (so part of the plank may have even had more wear).

@@iasonasboidanis3622 The limit after wear is at most 1 mm removed, they measured at Hamilton's car 2-3mm removed (in other words: the plank was at the central part between 7 and 8 mm). That is between 20% and 30%.
If Oscar didn't had a slow end to season, people would've completely forgotten he was a rookie
And honestly, if he wasn't paired with an extremely talented driver like Lando, people wouldn't be saying he had a slow end. I believe it's races like Britain, Belgium, and Qatar which heightened a lot of people's expectations for him by a significant amount, which is why I think the claim that he tailed off towards the end of the year is a bit unfair. The fact that he was able to match his teammate at so many races (and make fewer mistakes, despite being a rookie) shows some pretty powerful signs of what's to come.

Austin-Ocon crashes into him and he has to retire -> DNF
Mexico-his pace was not too bad, he mostly held his position for the entire race, Yuki crashed into him after 2/3 of the race and his car had significant damage after mclarens statement after the race -> P8
Brazil-qualifying in the apocalypse and getting hit by the 3 car incident in the beginning and being a lap down at the restart -> P14
Las Vegas-he was P3 at one point but was screwed over by mclarens tyre strategy -> P10 + fastest lap
AbuDhabi-good qualifying and was close to Lando (P5) in the race -> P6

=> in at least 3 of these races he was definitly not at fault for being slower/having bad results (and they're not even that bad)
Oscar had some truly dreadful luck in the last several races too. It felt like half the grid was out to crash into him
And people failed to mention he was driving new tracks for him in the 2nd half of the season.
I mean he was flying in Vegas despite getting screwed on strategy and starting at the back. He wasn't too bad in Abu Dhabi either. I think it's not highlighted enough just how much he got screwed and how bad his luck has been this season. Two or three races in a row he pitted right before a safety car and at least half of the grid has crashed into him at some point and it wasn't even his fault - Sainz, Ocon, Pierre, Hamilton, Kmag, Tsunoda, Perez and there's probably a few more I'm forgetting.

Fernando has got to be the biggest meme. The Sargeant meme was from fans but Alonso himself was being hilarious throughout the season with his TikTok, newfound obsession with flowers, and his hilarious team radios like praising Stroll for an overtake or giving Stroll his brake balance settings, all whilst being the best driver after Max which makes it even more hilarious.
That was the destruction of Stroll for the majority of the season. He started well (especially since he had broken wrists!), Alonso starts with the comments based on watching the big screen (at 200+ mph!), and he goes to pot until the end of the season.
I knew (and predicted) that Alonso would play headgames with the Stroller. My only conspiracy theory thought is that Stroll Sr put him up to it. He must recognise that Jr would probably do far better in WEC or similar (and that's not me knocking WEC, it's a totally different skill and I love it. I'm actually paying Jr a compliment) and he wants Alonso to push him to retire from F1. The headgames seemed to stop when Jr "threatened" to go play tennis instead. Daddy Warbucks was probably horrified by the idea so he told Alonso to can it!
This is purely a possibility based on what I know about the characters involved. I'm not saying it _really_ happened!

If I have to choose between Alonso and Sargeant, Sargeant was the more consistent meme. Alonso was a sparatic meme. Overall, though, I'd choose George as the biggest meme. Pretty much every race had a memeable George moment

I think if you look at any F1 comment section in 2023 it's pretty clear "30 seconds for Ocon" was the biggest meme.
This meme has been used to such a high degree people were complaining about how overused it is and in that sense it trumps wtf is a kilometer 🦅🦅, George's T pose, or any Alonso meme

I would say Ocon was the biggest meme. Yes, alonso had many memes made of him and every time usa or Sargeant was mentioned, the comments were just "wtf is a kilometer" but their memes were pretty topic specific. In ocons case it didn't matter who or what was talked about Ocon always got penalties in the comments. Red bull broke another record? 20s penalty for ocon. Vegas residents are unhappy with f1? 20s penalty for ocon. Alonso and taylor swift are dating? 50s penalty for ocon!
Why is the full version of this still missing on audio platforms?

I’m sorry boys but biggest meme is definitely George Russell for sheer volume and the fact he wasn’t even trying.
Technically points can mean an abbreviation of finishing in the points scoring positions, of which 10th is one of them, so give that person their point for Sargent. My bold prediction was that there would be a Ferrari 1-2 at Monza after a double DNF for Red Bull. It did not come to pass. But the one race that red bull didn't win was won by a Ferrari. So I was on to something with the prediction even if it was wrong. Thanks Carlos!

I'd argue that Sargeant was the most memed and made fun of, but Alonso had so many memes from tiktok and instagram I can't even name them all: from the taylor swift memes, to the forehead picture, to him posing like MIchael O'Hearn, watering the flowers, cooking soup.
Team Logie for sure: Logan was by far the biggest Meme: Logteifi, The new GoaT, F1's first Florida Man driver, the T-shirts with Logan's pic backed by flag and eagle "What the F*** is a kilometer"....

I would contend that Alonso was "best of the rest", as his team finished 5th, and he finished 4th. "The rest" typically refers to the bottom 7 teams, excluding Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull.

It’ll never happen BUT…I’d like to see the FIA force a driver that has already wrapped up the WDC to sit out a portion of the remaining races. This would allow reserve drivers to get real race experience and exposure to various teams. This however, would not allow anyone to break particular records.
