I was introduced to them without knowing them with the inclusion of "remote viewing" on GTA IV's OST and it was like a beautiful wave of nostalgia within me realizing it was them showing my longtime-fan parents years later. They played this live when I saw TD with them in 2023, two days before the tenth anniversary of GTA V. My parents knew even with their past history of this group how impactful their score of the game is to me at my young age. Music is timeless!! Awesome group!!
I've been listening to this track for over an hour now, non-stop, and I'll probably let it play quite a bit longer. It's so heavenly, as if coming from a higher dimension full of happiness and calm. You can listen to this track while doing anything. Reading, writing, playing Minecraft, washing dishes... it's the soundtrack of life.
My dad introduced me to Tangerine Dream when I was 13, the first 3 pieces of music that got me hooked were Cloudburst Flight, The Dream Is Always The Same & Logos (Velvet Part). This track really reminds of their period in the 70s/80s.
A good return to their roots. Added to my Progressive rock playlist; as the music is Electro ambient, it also falls in place with Progressive rock just as it did in the 70's.
honestly, fairly sure edgar is proud, since this song was made by him for the GTA V score(it's the pause menu music, in a slightly simplified state) fairly sure this song is already 7 years old.
@@user-di1de7zm2b the split for the TD score was: Edgar = 10 hours of stems, Thorsten = 10 hours of stems + Thorsten and Edgar = 15 hours of music stems.
I didn't even think to look up who made these musics in GTA, because of my paranoia I immediately thought that TD's style is being stolen everywhere...sorry, I didn't think so, it's really TD.
If you've never seen it try to get hold of the film Sorcerer by William Friedkin (1977). It has a fantastic soundtrack by Tangerine Dream, I used to have it on Vinyl back in the 70's, didn't actually manage to see the film until a couple of years ago. Wiki link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorcerer_(film)
In "Mr. Plow" episode from The Simpsons there's an easter egg about Sorcerer. Also, The Warriors movie used the most well-known song from Sorcerer in one of the trailers.
Four years late but also, consider adding Michael Mann's Thief as another great TG-scored film with a soundscape that also very much influenced their work in GTA 5!
Nowadays GTA V is a joke with the "Expanded & Enhanced Edition" and the recurring re-releases, but back then it was the big deal. Such a shame how badly they milked the game.
This is art one day when I'm a director. I will get my hands on these guys and say yeah mate wanna do me movie for me. All U do whatever U want. I will get a bass guitarist for you aswell. Edit: well it'll will be rude to not include woody jackson
Tangerine Dream did Heat and Thief (that's why they hired em for GTA). But being a hiphop head I'd love for Alchemist to be involved in a score of a major film. The collection of hiphop heads (Alchemist, DJ Shadow and Oh No) with Tangerine Dream's synth music made the soundtrack really something special.
Does anyone know if a Fairlight had anything to do wity this audio? I know Tangerine Dream used to have one. And this sounds heavenly.. like a Fairlight made it!
@AndyKing1963 my evidence that they had one is that in some of their old songs, i hear sounds that were ONLY on fairlight back then Now, there are software recreations

this is heavenly, they did incredible work for the GTA 5 score, it added this feeling of melancholy especially at night in los santos
I was playing this music to Starcraft, thinking, surely this song isn't named after a GTA V map!
GTA 5 directly introduced me so many amazing artists its kinda crazy people have the nerve to say it has "the worst soundtrack in the series"
plus I think its the first series to actually have an official soundtrack
They really calling synthwave bad
@@buklau837 this isn't synthwave though. Not a single track from the official score is synthwave.

@@buklau837 It's certainly some type of wave. Maybe new age, but not exactly synthwave. Or this thing en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krautrock#Kosmische_Musik

Cloudburst Flight is incredible (like this song) but wow, what an ending.
This track also reminds me of their old tracks.
Have you ever listened to "Crystal Voice", "Charly The Kid" or "Burning Force"? Those were all from their 1984 score for "Firestarter"
A good return to their roots. Added to my Progressive rock playlist; as the music is Electro ambient, it also falls in place with Progressive rock just as it did in the 70's.
It's neither rock nor progressive.
@@vapeymcvape5000 It's not rock but it is definitely progressive tbh
First time I have listened to TD since the 1970s. Sounds very good. Will definitely listen to the album.
Check out their recent(ish) 35min live track 'Hanseatic Harbour Lights'. I think there's a reasonably good chance you might be blown away.
i started to listen to them because of steven wilson talked about zeit album, great job
This is truly beautiful, and Edgar would be mightily proud I think. a wonderful, relaxing, soulful piece...thank you :)

Greatest band in the world. Love TD.
How can you dislike such art bro
Because influence of drugs or Jamaican misunderstanding "dis I like".
