@@Seltkirk-ABC It has a bit of sadness in it but more so anxiety or end of the road type vibes ....... Literally " No happy endings " with you dying or ending up in prison for life .
Man does this ever take me back. I was in my first year of University when this game came out, and I loved this song so much that I put it on to my crappy blackberry. I remember listening to it after my last exam, on the bus leaving the city. Watching the city come to life at night in the winter. It felt like a true movie moment, like watching the credits role on my first semester.
I just realized how cool it would be to have Michael as a small cameo when he's younger in vice city 2 (If it's still in the 80s), because so much of Michael had an 80s / Miami Vice style going one
Michael's themes: Basically any song that sounds all sad but get some kickass beats at 5 stars! Franklin's themes: Any gangsta like songs that'd you probably hear in a 90's movie! Trevor's theme: *Rock music. Because it's Trevor!*
I thought it was well presumed Trevor fit country hill billy music, I mean his trailer literally plays country music. Rock/punk traditionally fit more with city dwellers and suburbs anyways, especially punk. Trevor lives in a trailer park and owns a rusted out pick up truck making meth, if that doesn't scream hill billy country music then idk what does. At the very most he'd be a country rock guy.
This song is ironic to me. Whenever I hear this particular track, it puts me in the perspective of the NOOSE teams. It‘s got that synthesized 80’s sound to it, and it makes me think of an 80’s cop thriller. I think it’s just me, but it also makes me picture NOOSE going “All in a day’s work” after catching some bad guys.
The original is intended to be ironic. It's called "No Happy Endings" referring to how life has no happy endings since everybody dies so far, but the guy who founded Tangerine Dream had been doing music for 50 years and this song was one of the last ones he did in his life and billions of people have heard it - BILLIONS with a B - so I'd bet he would actually say his life had happy endings. The game has no happy endings according to the dilemma it offers you as Franklin where one of the 3 player characters has to die, but ironically, if your interpretation of the character has Franklin embrace death to protect his friends, all of them can survive. Selfish pursuit of wealth and luxury doesn't have any happy endings. Connecting with those around you and trying your best to make the world the best place you can does.
