Worked in the Shipyards in Birkenhead in the early 90s. Had a ball with the lads down there. The place was a bit rough then , but now seems, like a lot of towns, to have declined even further. If you have an addiction you have an addiction , I know first hand , my eldest sister got addicted to heroine at the age of 32 , she was my amazing sister one I looked up too but she got in with a dickhead and her son my nephew got labused at 3 years old that’s what’s turned her to take that shite ,I have issues with having to deal with it over the years ,looking after her kids , she had 6 snd 4 are in prison ,heartbreaking , but life as to how on , my son as just become a doctor , so I did something right , love the p. It’s a complex illness addiction with so many other illnesses intertwined, more funding needs to be pumped into the services rather than all these other peeps, charity starts at home :/
There is a good boxing gym across the road from the Calisthenics gym Bill called The Venture in Brassey Street, that place keeps a lot of youngsters, girls and boys on track.
