💰 Get Your Money Right and Leave That Toxic Job: Financial Masterclass online November 8th-9th vaycarious--liftingasweclimbconsulting.thrivecart.com/financial-masterclass/
My dad quit a very good job at a time when Black men couldn’t find jobs easily. Everyone told him not to do it. One friend told him he was crazy, “a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush,” he said. And my dad responded that he was going to go for the two in the bush. He ended up finding a job that paid twice that. He made a good decision in quitting. By the way, the job he quit was with the post office and the year was 1952.
Worked for Social Security from 1992-2015. "Hold onto your Good Government Job" they said. Left there for a 50% pay raise, today my pay is double what I made there, on the way to being triple, AND I look forward to building some Entrepreneurship revenue.
That’s a good gubment job. I’m actually going thru the exact same thing. Everyone thinks I’m insane for wanting to flee. It’s like a gang man 😂😂I am inspired by this! Thanks for sharing. ❤
I’ve jumped from one toxic job to another but I’ve learned not to stay. I’m planning my exit which will be soon as I’m starting to have health issues again. I refuse to remain in a state of stress and toxicity, plus this is not what I signed up for.
....already left the high paying job that was making me ill and mentally unstable, before getting financially prepared. Just couldn't wait. Now trying to rebuild, slowly
Well done. You’ve got to do what you got to do. May everything you need be supplied and added unto you. You have nothing if you don’t have your peace and your health. The things that bring true wealth are often not supplied by our jobs.
It's not money that keeps Black women. It's responsibility that keeps Black women until they can figure out how to leave and not be homeless. Oftentimes, Black women are supporting numerous other people. Black women have to learn how to throw a lifeline to other Black women when you see sisters struggling. HIRE one another or make a call on behalf of the sister when you know you've got a connection somewhere. Black women have to be conscious of operating like this. Otherwise it becomes just more talk. I have witnessed on numerous occasions how Mexicans do this for each other without hesitation and offer no apologies. Even if the job doesn't pay a lot, EVERYBODY has work. That way, there isn't one segment of their population doing all the heavy lifting. I have many friends who have made a lot of money and been in positions of influence. Seldom have I found one that has created a job(s) to hire or place a call on behalf of another Black woman. There is a lot of discussion about just leaving the toxic job but let us put as much if not more emphasis on sustainability. Does this mean a woman who had two incomes in the household, raised the kids, put them through school, now single? Her frame of reference is quite different. She needs a different starting point because her dream is to make that expat break and don't know how to apply these Black women money moves. Nothing is more depressing than the reality of having nothing. Not advocating getting into or staying in toxic situations. Just suggesting Black women be more supportive of helping each other simply get money so that they can begin to get their money right.
You're absolutely right about Mexican people! I'd lived in Texas for nearly a decade and from what I can recall Mexicans never hesitated to immediately help each other out without hesitation. Unfortunately, black people do not have this camaraderie with each other and just try to constantly one-up each other.
You have said nothing but the truth. From personal experience I have had black women that I knew well that was in a position to hire or could give a word out about a job to me but they didn't. It was out of pure hate and jealousy. A lot of black women that have envy, jealousy and strife in their hearts toward another black woman don't like to see another black woman have anything, it can be as simple as you wearing lipgloss, cute earrings, nice outfit, you have transportation, you have a job, a man it could be anything that would set these hyenas into a fit of jealousy. It's absolutely sickening. I'm to the point we're my trust for alot of black women are out the door. They will stab you in the back in a heartbeat and deliberately hurt you whatever chance they get.
And it may not be such a toxic job but that it no longer grows you or inspires you to be creative.... or want to be there other than a paycheck.... which is not enough....
Yes, I was just saying something similar to myself the other day. I don’t have to decide to leave only when things ‘feel toxic’, just knowing the job is NOT in alignment is enough. And I can just leave with grace saying “Thank you but no, this is not for me”.
Yesssss Yesssss Yesssss! I shared my motto with a few family members and friends just the other day after coming across a video about a nurse who committed suicide due to her toxic job. Maybe other things were going on in her life; I don’t know, but IF the job was one of her stressors that’s just sad and bad! I’m a nurse and I’ve quit a few toxic jobs/workplaces over the years because my MOTTO became “Peace over a Paycheck.” Life is short… too short to be stressed out at and over somebody else’s business or dream! The mental and emotional stress will culminate into physical symptoms and eventually illness and whether we want to acknowledge it or not stress kills.
Thank you for validation I became very ill while on the job & had PTS long after I retired from my "Good Government Job" A dear friend told me when I started, if there IS such a thing (good gov'n. job) Black Women won't get it
"Working at a sorry job, just to get ahead or make ends meet, makes YOU a sorry person". The vast majority are sorry, salty, and sad .Thank you for the video From Oldschoolcarsandstars
Yes this fear is passed down by Immigrant parents. I stayed in a toxic job in my early twenties (wanting to prove to these people that I had value) but in my late twenties I left a toxic job just after buying my house (other black women good friends told me I was impulsive and to hold on because perhaps God wanted me to stay to work on me...but I said no God wants me to have peace and joy) and I never looked back that's where I found a job that I love a lot and where I was respected. On a journey to become debt free so I don't feel stuck no longer God is in control!
I quit my toxic job/situations just over a year ago. I am happier and freer than ever, and I really appreciate this conversation ❤❤❤ Also I love the idea of an “abundance” fund. I agree that this is a better name for that type of account.
I NEVER AGAIN IN LIFE WANT TO EXPERIENCE THE MENTAL ANGUISH, STRESS, TIME AND GASLIGHTING I EXPERIENCED JOB TO JOB! THEY ALL WERE TOXIC AND DYSFUNCTION AL. I UNFORTUNATELY COULDNT WAIT UNTIL MY MONEY WAS RIGHT THE MOST HIGH TOOK ME OUT OF THERE BEFORE ALL OF THAT TO SAVE MY SANITY.
Thank You For This Session, Stephanie. I Learnt One Very Important Point From Your Guests; Gratitude To Both Guests. Btw, Stephanie, I Think You're AMAZING!💙
Just got out of mine, thank you very much Stephanie for your wisdom and words of encouragement! It started with me listening to you years back and Monday I make my move to San Miguel De Allende, ready to inhale and embrace. You are indeed an inspiration!
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t call their job toxic. If you need money, you have to work, and your boss and co-workers will suck! Welcome to the real world. I drove with an Uber driver from Nigeria. I asked him why he moved to the U.S., he said because he couldn’t get a job in Nigeria, he wasn’t connected to the right group of people. He said he just wanted a job…to have the opportunity to make money. That’s how he viewed jobs.
If you need money, if you do not know how to invest or own a business (the other two main ways, the ways the rich and wealthy primarily use), indeed, YOU have to work...
Love your videos Stephanie and your hairstyle looks lovely on you. At the moment I cannot see a way out, so how to suck up the job I am in with some horrible people. I need money for my holidays which is a must to have at least 1 or 2 a year. I am also in the middle of securing a new home. It is not always easy for everyone. I wish years ago I had a mindset to have my own business. As I become older I cannot much tolerate the bias mindset in a workplace.
I feel you so much! It’s almost suffocating to feel trapped. I discovered these ladies searching for inspiration to leave! It is a whole movement! We can join if we plan. ❤😊
Well worth $300 cause I have been planning by myself and it is a lot of work 😩 lucky for me I have put everything in place to be self employed as coach in my field and help others so nice to share what we know and be free😊
This is my current situation. I am earning well but I do not want to work here anymore. So I have this fear of leaving the job cause I have a concern if I will ever be paid so well. But my spirit feels that I should leave my current work environment.

nah im good
I quit 6 months ago and the grass is so much greener on this side ❤
I am looking to quit my toxic job
My dad quit a very good job at a time when Black men couldn’t find jobs easily. Everyone told him not to do it. One friend told him he was crazy, “a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush,” he said. And my dad responded that he was going to go for the two in the bush. He ended up finding a job that paid twice that. He made a good decision in quitting. By the way, the job he quit was with the post office and the year was 1952.
He took a leap of faith and it paid off. Amen🎉
Post Office, especially back in the day, recruited the brightest folk. And most got stuck.
Worked for Social Security from 1992-2015. "Hold onto your Good Government Job" they said. Left there for a 50% pay raise, today my pay is double what I made there, on the way to being triple, AND I look forward to building some Entrepreneurship revenue.

Lol. I work for the USPS and I so want to leave. I’m almost 63 and that’s why I’m listening to this podcast.
My favorite takeaways: "CHANNEL YOUR OWN INNER HARRIET! SHE'S IN THERE!' And: 'YOU ARE NOT QUITTING. YOU ARE CHOOSING!' Loved this. Thank you 😊
💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
@18:24 There is so much unlearning to do. You will not win every battle. When hair is falling out and you are angry all the time, it is time to go.
If this info was around 35 years ago I would have 15 different jobs under my belt instead of one job for 35 years. Thank you ladies!
I’ve jumped from one toxic job to another but I’ve learned not to stay. I’m planning my exit which will be soon as I’m starting to have health issues again. I refuse to remain in a state of stress and toxicity, plus this is not what I signed up for.
@GabbyEsq Self care is the new normal. Leave the abuse behind. 🙏🏽
Don’t quit, go on medical leave
....already left the high paying job that was making me ill and mentally unstable, before getting financially prepared. Just couldn't wait. Now trying to rebuild, slowly
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I'm with you ❤️ stay strong.....it's indeed a journey.
Well done. You’ve got to do what you got to do. May everything you need be supplied and added unto you. You have nothing if you don’t have your peace and your health. The things that bring true wealth are often not supplied by our jobs.
Money should not make you stay in a toxic relationship either.
Facts! I left a good paying job last year and never looked back!
I like the idea of “embracing ease”

So true. & so wise!

I just realized I am addicted to the rush feeling I get when I get a a job offer.
And it may not be such a toxic job but that it no longer grows you or inspires you to be creative.... or want to be there other than a paycheck.... which is not enough....

Yep! So true!
That's my situation.

I was just saying this morning that I have absolutely no financial goals set. That’s about to change though. I’m so glad I just found this video.
Why do I feel this can be applied to relationships
Because it does!!! 😁
Thank you for validation
I became very ill while on the job & had PTS long after I retired from my "Good Government Job"
A dear friend told me when I started, if there IS such a thing (good gov'n. job) Black Women won't get it
If u stay, u will eventually get fired. It's best to just leave.

I feel liberated when I left a toxic environment and that’s in college!
I sure wish you were around with this encouragement in 2001- 2009. That was my story Dr. K

I took two days off this week and clocked out early today since it wasnt busy and had tech issues
It's very real. I have been through it.
I hope you're healing Beverly. 💗
