You purchase the bezels according to the size of the stone you have. If you have a 5mm round stone you need a 5mm round bezel cup.

Did you not coat with fire shield because of the shorter length of time using the torch? assumed the flame would harm the plate.

Fire Shield isn't necessary when using a low melt temp solder.
