The way I see it is if I lie about something and you know I’m full of shit then how will this channel ever grow and really it’s not even about the channel it’s about being truthful
Thanks Sean! Great content. As you probably know, I've had Speedway install the torque CAM, headers, etc on a couple of bikes. Plus the Wood 22XE on my latest bike. Night and day difference with the Wood 22XE CAM and Power Vision 4 tuner for your listeners out there. Adding a header and CAM definitely wakes it up and gives it an even better sound, not to mention performance. Great job as always by you guys at Speedway and appreciate your content!
Went all Screamin Eagle on my '23 107 - torque cam with a S.E. lefty bearing and lifters, Street Cannons and air filter. Extended warranty, so waiting 6 years for that to run out is silly. $500 off for winter special and threw in the lifters for half off plus a dyno tune. Extremely happy how it woke the engine up, and after a 500+ mile day I can still hear, but still a bit of chop in the idle The bluetooth tuner worked fine for me when I did the stage 1 and the dealer had no problem with in on the dyno for the stage 2.
Nice !! Man….it takes a lot for me to be excited about any bike because I see so many variations, but booooy do I LOVE that CVOST !!!!!! If I could afford one I would have already went in debt 🤣🤣
I have an older twin cam 03, I did the vance n Hines longshots, a standard k&n air cleaner, and a tune and loved the sound and performance. 30k miles later did the reaper 525 cams and yep. Highly recommend it for the 88 twin cam . Love it.
@@VtwinRevolution I also had the 2003 twin cam 88 build done. At about 6000mi, I had the local HD shop do the 103SE build with SE211 cams, Suppertrapp slip ons, and I've been running a stock SE103 map since. It does have the HD race tuner. At the time it cost a little over $5k. 21 years of ownership later and 51K miles, still runs great! Oh, love the channel!
From California, 2021 Ultra Limited 4.5 Tab mufflers with a HD Stage II Torque cam, extreme breather with external catch can. Runs very well. Thank you for taking the time to create how to videos.
Good video. The only issue I seen is on the Bluetooth tuner that Harley Davison you do not need the cable to plug into the computer. It will pair with a phone and download and install the map. I did it personally with my iPhone on my 23 road glide Limited. And even if you watched the Harley Davison videos, they even show no computer necessary please don’t take it the wrong way now. I am curious if there is different maps to download for your PCM using the computer. I would like to get a cable just to check that out. I even use my Bluetooth screaming eagle tuner to enable the wideband screaming eagle auto tuner that I installed on my bike all by my iPhone no computer at all.
None taken, so what the cable allows is the BCI to be updated with the latest maps and software. You may have been able to download a map using your phone but it might be an outdated version of that specific map. We as a dealer was told through our PHD training videos to use the “Y” cable. And I’m not someone that gets butt-hurt lol
Well Done video. You made a very true statement about tab mufflers, I have 4.5 tab bam sticks on my 20 Road Glide, I just swapped the zombie baffles for the 2.5 louvered core and a new tune. The insides are surprisingly simple.
Guess what! Have the Zombie on the left side and the louvered (mid range) baffle on the rt side. TAB header, SE air and SE tuner. Sounds great and LOTS of torque. The Zombie and mid range baffles work well. 2020 RG, 107.
Say you have a '23 sg with the 107 but you change the air cleaner to the 114 oval for looks and comfort and add the tab performance 4.5 bam sticks with the zombie baffles would you need a tuner
Okay thanks for the info everyone else I asked this question it turned it to bashing me for wanting to put a 114 air cleaner on a 107 I guess they don't know that it's almost the same as the se ventilator.
Thank you ! NICE ! I LOVE MY XJ !!! I originally was gonna have a channel doin off-road stuff and Harley stuff but then realized it was too broad, that’s why there are 2 Jeep videos on my channel
I just bought a 2024 breakout and replaced the stock pipes with Vance and Hines short shots. Do I need to get the bike tuned? Your videos give a lot of info! Thank you
Congrats on the purchase 🤘 honestly I would. If it was just mufflers I’d say no, but full systems breathe differently so I would get a tuner. This will help avoid lean decele pops and maybe some dead spots under load
Hate to hear that…I treat my customers like I would want to be treated, I’ll take my time and talk to them and explain things and let them know if they do or don’t need something.
Thanks brother. Appreciate the time and explanation. I went with the stage 1 with KRome Werks slip ons. Next upgrade will be front suspension which should be better than stock. Keep up the strong videos coming.
I think I saw you during my visit on my way back to Maine. I spent a lot of time talking to Greg and Barry in parts. I was glad to see one item I had on my wish list was in stock. I have a 15 RG 103 with D&D boarzilla 2 into 1 and I am adding a K&N intake before my dyno that is coming up i a month. Right now the bike doesn't run right because of the lack of back pressure and the ecm freaks out. It does clear up on it's own but then comes right back after riding a bit. I just got this back in September after owning a Victory for years. Barry in parts had or has the same exact victory I owned.
You should have yelled at me and said hey ! I would have gladly stopped and talked to you !! So I’ve had a similar issue before, because I too am a huge fan of D&D and ran it on my dyna for 8yrs until I got a Thunderheader. ANYWAY!! The borezilla muffler is for 110” motors and larger, if there is a way, I would get yourself the fatcat, that muffler is for displacements from 88”-103” So you have a 15 RG103 stock breather stock motor but have a D&D exhaust ? If you’ve never had any type of tuner map programmed to your bike then the problem your having will be corrected when you install the breather and have it tuned ! That bike is struggling to run right now brother. Well I’m glad you stopped by the dealership, next time stop me or ask if I’m busy….if not I will pop out and say hey !!
@@VtwinRevolution If I am ever down there again I will look for you. My local shop told me to run a bolt through the slip-on and it will help with the back pressure. Unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about the motor mods etc.
I know that the SE 511 cam is a weaker EPA compliant cam but people with the 24’ models have seen really good results. Around 120hp & 130tq if I remember correctly there was someone who dropped .5 in the 1/4mi after doing the 511 cam swap (had supporting mods also)
I mean for what it is, it gives the average rider a fantastic boost. But for the rider that’s had a performance bike before and those that know those cams are as compliant as democrats during covid are like meh….
Thank you, very useful info. Just got my Khrome Werks mufflers for my 24RG, and have been considering changing the intake. Still on the fence about it, but you definitely answered a few questions I still had. Thanks. 🍻
Thank you. So the power cam is gonna be higher RPM so you have more horsepower The torque cam is gonna give you tons of torque and less horsepower so it’s a trade, where do you want your power to be ? Down low or up high. Personally if you’re thinking about a cam I would do something different than a Harley cam IMO!
@@VtwinRevolution I like it a lot better than the factory exhaust and it’s not overly obnoxious, and as the bike breaks in it seems to sound even better.
I did a big bore S&S 124 with a 475 cam. Didn't run right even after a dyno tune. Turns out my basani exhaust was the issue and wasn't providing back pressure. Switched to khrome werks and instant fix Just an FYI
Unfortunately sometimes that’s the way it goes….some combos just don’t mesh well, im sure that bike runs good now tho ! I can honestly say I’ve been pretty impressed with how the khrome werks exhaust has made a difference on the M8’s
@@FeatheredDino Poor throttle response, backfire, almost stalling between 1800 and 2400 RPM, Could not tune it out. Replaced the exhaust and pow, cured. My builder disagreed with me stating back pressure is as myth. It sometimes feels like good mechanics are a myth. lol
@@biolong48 Back pressure is a myth, what you want is exhaust scavenging. A huge cam does need good scavenging or else the exhaust velocity stays way low and you get what you're describing.
Lots of good information!! Thank you for sharing 🤘😎🇺🇸 I appreciate your attention to detail and happy to have found your channel. I own a 2013 Softail Slim and 1989 Sportster. If I could request a future video topic(s)…could you show how to properly prep and remove a gas tank from a ‘08-‘17 Softail model? It is probably 2nd nature to you but I want to do things right the first time with good guidance. Another simple video idea could be a “how to” change your own grips in that same era. Non-throttle by wire models. Thank you 🤘😎🇺🇸
So just to verify, on my 21 SGS, If I do slip-ons and a new air intake, I do NOT need a tuner. So much conflicting info on the Internet it's hard to tell what's true and what's not.
Your 21 should already have a ventilator style breather on it. If you add mufflers you don’t need to add a tuner unless you want to get it tuned and have it run the best it can, at that point since you’re out of factory warranty you can do a powervision, TTS, thunder maxx or whatever you want. The only thing a tuner is gonna do is add a little more fuel to an already factory lean bike and give you a little more throttle response
You could always have your head pipe de-catted that would help with heat and give a little better throttle response, cause now the bike is breathing better
Yes and no. Yes you need a tuner if you add like Vance and Hines head pipe or Rinehart or khromewerks etc… No, If you de-catted your head pipe and added slip ons The only other time you need a tuner is if you change your air cleaner
Question for ya, I am putting on the 30/30 cam, Thunderheader exhaust (2-1), Thundermax tuner and going with the stage 2 for my 2022 Harley Road Glide special….. What air cleaner do you suggest for my setup? Also, I’m hoping with the 30/30 cam and Thunderheader; I’ll finally get that Harley “chop” I’m so desperately looking for….. Any advice or other bolt on products I can add? Also, air cleaner suggestion please…..
DUDE !!! That’s gonna be a KILLER combo !!!! Go with the Trask round air cleaner setup, dyno charts from one of my aftermarket buddies show that Trask air cleaner performs REALLY WELL !! And trust me with that 30/30 you will get a boner hahaha
Also….if you wanna pick up more “cheap” power. Buy a front pulley and a belt from a ‘24 CVO ST AND YOU WILL HAVE INSANE ACCELERATION and 6th gear will finally be useable
HD cams are junk and only good for retaining warranty ! Look at fuel moto you can get an entire kit. Woods 22xe Star 30/30 S&S 475 S&S 468 All of these are great mid-range cams
Funny thing is, I just learned about this SE extended warranty like a week ago. Apparently normal ESP doesn’t cover SE performance parts which is why you have to get the SE ESP
So basically you’d go talk to a finance guy or a salesman and you purchase the SE ESP like you would a normal ESP it’s cost is based off the amount of years you buy
@@VtwinRevolution I may be wrong but I think you have to buy the ESP first, then for an extra cost you can add the Screaming Eagle ESP to it for extra $$. I don’t think the SE ESP is available separately. The Screaming Eagle ESP is a check box on the normal ESP plan form.
Thanks for this. I just got a 2024 and now have to go through “waiting for the warranty to run out” thing again. I had 4” zombies on my 2019 but I’m going with the 5” on my new one. My question is is that all I can do is slipons? No header that will make it sound better? Does everything have to be stock besides the slipons? I did get the stage one. Ok thanks and I’m glad I found your channel.
Let me break it down for you… If you do slip-on’s only no tuner needed If you do a air cleaner only it’s best to do a tuner If you do air cleaner and slip-ons you need a tuner If you do a header pipe of any kind with a air cleaner you need a tuner If you do just a header pipe only it’s a good idea to do a tuner So far the best sounding headpipe that clears the new cam sensor is the chrome werks 2 into 1 and the bike seems to run pretty good. I hope this helps 🤙🏻 congrats on your new bike !
I bought the license last night and flashed the bike this morning ..holy shit its like a different bike.. very impressed. runs cooler, faster, and no decel pop@@VtwinRevolution
When you talk about warranty, are you also talking about ESP? Is there a difference when it comes to Stage 1 and tuning in relation to ESP? Does a tune with a non HD tuner also void your ESP?
So thats a tricky answer. The official answer would be anything that’s not HD or HD approved performance parts or tune files will void any warranties. BUT !!!!!!! As long as ESP isn’t over a certain dollar amount they won’t send an inspector out.
Great video Sir. I have a 2012 Roadglide (103) FLtrX. I have a Stage 1 with V&H 2 into 1 pro-pipe, SE cone Heavy breather and SE racer tune. The bike runs well but at times i want a little more uumph! Should i just do a cam swap? SE 259 or woods Tw-222 or just go all the way?? 110 big bore kit with Thundermax Tune?
In my opinion stay away from the 259E it’s a horsepower cam and even with a good 2 into 1 it’s a PIG down low. Personally I really like the SE585 it’s great cam for touring bikes but you will need valve springs and perfect fit +.030 pushrods
Thank you for this video! Do you need a tuner for just an air cleaner? The idea is not for performance but just look. The big box on the new 24s look awful
Would be great to see the SE 511 cam installed in a 2024 Road Glide of Street Glide. Do you think a Star 30-30 cam will work in a 2024 Road Glide with the Harley SE stage 2 tune?
I was just talking to a guy yesterday, I might talk my owner into doing a 511 cam upgrade with the 30 tooth front pulley. And no I don’t think the SE tuner would work with a star cam. It doesn’t have the capabilities to tune an aftermarket cam
I have an 09 Super Glide Custom. I got it from a friend who got it from the original owner. The original owner had V&H big radius exhaust and a high flow air breather installed at the dealership where he purchased it brand new. There isn’t a tuner installed anywhere on the bike and I have no way of getting in contact with the original owner. Is there a way for a dealer to run the VIN and find out if the original dealership installed a tune when they added the aftermarket parts. Since it was done at a Harley Dealership and shop.
I love dynas !! More than likely it has a stage 1 SE download, anything 2016 and earlier we can install a download versus a tuner. they can plug it up to the computer and verify this, At your dealer.
@@VtwinRevolution so if it does have the stage 1 SE download is that good to just keep running. I’m not wanting to run it like a race bike just cruise around and maybe take some trips on it.
I have the tabs 50 cal zombies and tabs 2-1-2 header and thundermax tuner for my 2023 RGS. I am wondering should I wait to put them on because I am looking to add the zippers 468 cam kit?
On the 24 cam install. Do you replace the cam plate and pump or keep it stock. A lot of videos I see say u can run a higher lift cam since the springs are stronger but no one has a video installing a cam in the new bikes, so I’m unsure on what they upgrade and leave stock . I’m a DIYer and only trying to get into that cam chest once. I know 23 and down bikes it’s recommended along with pinion gear and chain tensioner but not sure if it is on the new ones. I plan on running a 2-1 d&d billet cat, thunder max tuner, trask air breather, and a 520 or some 500 lift cam ( Jorge from all American cycles and zippers have videos showing there version that produce nice numbers and sound nice) Any insight from a professional would b helpful thanks
with the cam plate and oil pump it’s all preference, if you wanna upgrade the pump and plate you can BUT ! You really need to have your crank checked for runout, the aftermarket pumps run tighter tolerances meaning they need WAY less runout than what a stock pump and plate would use. You would be surprised at what some of the runouts are on bone stock bikes are !!! As far as the cam goes if you are doing anything 500 lift and over, you need valve springs….don’t chance it. there are some EXCEPTIONAL CAMS that are below 500 lift that are bolt in applications S&S 475 S&S 468 Woods 22xe Star racing 30/30 Shop 67 M480 (this cam hits a NASTY LICK) Sounds like you have a good direction you wanna go!! I LOVE D&D !!! Ran it in my dyna for years before changing to a Thunderheader
I’m running Tab 4.5 mufflers and wanting to get tab air filter trying to figure out what tuner to get cause like u said there junk and I still have warranty on my 22 st glide
So if you don’t have long on your warranty I would just get a powervision they are about the best option out there. You wouldn’t be disappointed with that tuner. Plus 90% of the places that tune bikes use the PV
I voided my warranty right out of the box. 24 LRS, SE heavy breather, cr483 cam, HPI 2-1 pipes, thundermax tuner, 55 mm intake, 6.2 injectors, cam plate, oil pump, clutch, etc..
Have a M8 114 Have all Rinehart ..breather racing, 4 1/2 slip ons and two into one to two header pipes. What’s the best cam for this set up ?also going with the power vision tuner. I was leaning on the side of the S&S 475c cam,,, your thoughts?
I have a 2020 limited 114 and I purchased a factory Ventilator filter with the HD better filter and I have a new set of Rhien Hart Dbx40's in the box waiting till I hear back from you. Do I have to tune the bike because I upgraded to the factory Ventilator? It's on the bike now but with the stock mufflers and it runs great.
@@VtwinRevolution Thanks for getting back to me. I put the Ventilator on a year ago and I did notice the fans come on soon as I stop at a light so I don't want to do any damage. I live in FL. Can you clarify a bit because I watch your Video again and notice this was your advice for the 2023 but I have a 2020 That came new with that restrictive paper filter and the instructions said it "You must recalibrate the ECM when installing this kit. Failure to properly recalibrate the ECM can result in severe engine damage" I don't want to make a mistake and I appreciate you taking the time to Help out.
@VtwinRevolution Thank you for clearing that up I really appreciate it. Now I just have to make that decision to marry the power vision to the bike and give up the Warranty a bit early.
With the Bluetooth streaming Eagle tuner for the 2023 and newer. Is that tuner good for all stages for the M8 motors. 2. Do you have to do install the smart tune pro once you install the wide band sensors.
Yes….so if you do a stage 2 power or torque cam there is specific maps for each. There are also maps in there if you do a 119” build or 131” or a 135”. And there is no need to worry about picking the wrong map because as soon as it starts to talk to your bike it knows what available calibrations to present to you to pick from. And yes, once you install the wide band O2’s you have to enable smart tune but you also have to have the whole kit….its the wide bands a module that talks to the ECM. If you don’t have the tools you’ll need to take it to a dealer to drill, tap and install the wide bands UNLESS….you have a header pipe that has the large O2 ports for the wide bands
Thank you for your quick reply. I actually have a 2019 ultra. Stage 1 with high flow K/N wedge air filter and Cobra 909 upcuts slip-ons. Then got astage 2 last march with the woods cam m822xe( recommend from my dealership) and the Smart tune pro tuner. I do a lot of traveling throughout the country so it works better when in different t parts of the country. I love the woods cam and auto tuner. I'm a big fan of Cobra so I just put on the pro chamber headers.
I just picked up a 24 road glide. Can you talk about why the cable clutches on these feels so notchy? Every time I shift the clutch lever feels a grab in it. It’s not smooth by any means
So I know what you’re talking about !!! The crazy part what you’re feeling is the actual gear going into the next gear, it still trips me out !!! But I have noticed it’s not as noticeable if you use a QUALITY gear oil
@ I notice too, it’s most but not every shift. Like the impact is transmitted through the cable. It’s still on the factory oil, will be changed soon. Nothing you noticed a difference with from a clutch play adjustment? Or lubing cable?
Hey dude, awesome video great information. I was told that as long as you have an EPA regulated tuner Harley cannot void your warranty., like Vance and Hines fuel pack4. Is this true?
Thank you ! Yes that is partly correct….harley has to be able to prove that having an aftermarket tuner was not the cause of a particular power train failure, now…..I would stay away from the FP4 they are junk, I’ve had one and hated it. Powervision, TTS or thunder max are your best bet. This whole tuner thing is a very grey area kinda thing. It’s just another way for Harley to get out of having to pay for warranty claims
I have a 2024 street glide. What about adding the screaming eagle high flow air filter with the factory breather? It shows better performance than those other breathers on the website. I like the looks of the factory breather better.. I have boneshaker slip ons. can I upgrade my filter to screaming eagle, keep the factory air box and then tune it? Or do I have to tune it??
If you’re just replacing the air filter element you should be good and won’t have to put a tuner on it, while having a better filter will help performance it’s not the same as a high flow air cleaner kit. The airbox still acts as an obstruction
Hi Sean! Great video! Questions, I have a 17’ SGS..S&S 465 cam , plate , pump with the V&H power duels. Liked them but want to go with the Krome Werks 2 into 1 outlaw.. good idea? Also should I change my plastic intake for either the S&S 55 millimeter or Screaming Eagle? I’d love to have the new bikes but, like having no payments! I really enjoy your videos and having opinions from an actual professional!
I am a 2 into 1 guy ALL day !! But you will have to have the bike retuned, 2 into 1 pipes behave differently than 2-1-2 so your tune would be off. As far as the metal manifold ABSOLUTELY !!! Those plastic ones are JUNK. Thank you for the kind words ! And yes a paid off bike is WAY COOLER 🤣🤣
Hey thanks for your reply Sean!! Another question, do you have a preference of 2 into 1’s? As I said I like the K W 2 into 1 outlaw but do you recommend a different name brand?
@@kevincarnes7598the khrome werks is an excellent choice!! And sounds great !!! I like the bassani Road Rage 3, thunder header, D&D and the HPI 2into1(they are like 12wks out) 🤣 I ran a D&D on my dyna for 9yrs then finally bought a Thunder header. I have always loved those two pipes the one I hate! sawiki speed they are complete junk ! And wouldn’t waste my time even lookin at them.
Do you think the plastic lifter cuffs in M8s should be replaced for the billet aftermarket lifter cuffs, or do you think the stock lifter cuffs are the way to go because they aren't as rough on lifters as the billet cuffs?
It’s funny you ask…I literally just filmed how to install a cam in an M8 yesterday lol where I used the S&S tappet cuffs that video will drop on 4/19. So yes I highly recommend them and if they’re set up properly it shouldn’t be hard on your lifters
Great video, I just bought an esp with screaming eagle. My dealer always records the torque cam which I had in my last bike but thinking about getting aftermarket cam. Do I or can I cancel my esp if I want an aftermarket cam? I want longevity because I ride a lot of miles. And around the country that’s why I bought the esp.
So I wish I had an answer for you on that, I think you can….but you don’t get reimbursed. ESP is not really something I deal with….BUT ! I will do my best to get you the proper information on Monday
I wish I had a good answer for you on that….BUT Monday when I go back to work I will get the proper info for you so that you can make the best decision for you 🤙🏻
I’ll do some research….not many people do much performance work on sportys except a guy at my work he has a YT channel @TheInfinitRyda he has a 1250 hammer kit and says his sporty hauls ASS! Not sure what cam he has in his bike tho. But I’ll look into this Monday and message you back.
Hey Sean, Love this video mate. New to Harley's here I have a 2023 Ultra limited stage 1 with vance & Hines power duals headers and Rinehart's DBX 45 mufflers, but I feel that they are not loud as what they claim to be. Will a stage 2 make a difference in sound
Congrats on the bike ! That is a yes and no answer. Yes some cams will completely change the sound of your exhaust and no most SE cams will keep it relatively the same. If it was me I would look at the star racing 30/30 cam, the S&S475 cam the woods 22XE or the shop 67 M480 cam. All these cams are mid-range power and will be the best of both worlds in terms of HP and TQ
Sweet appreciated the video and honesty. I have 21 RGS just did zippers rs 468 cam PV4 Tuner running tab 2 1 2 headers with 4 inch bamsticks zombie baffles the bike is a beast. Thinking about going with louvered baffles quiets it down just a bit and adds more torque. Whats your opinion and or recommendation ?
So a few of my tuner buddies I’ve talked to say that the dyno doesn’t like the zombie baffles cause they are a straight through design, and the louvered baffles seem to do better cause it allows the air to slow down enough ( back pressure) to help with scavenging in the combustion chamber, I’m all about making power and getting stuff off that strips power, the added benefit to changing baffles is a quieter exhaust note.
On the SE Stage 4 kit, it is worth plugging in my SE tuner on the bike to go out and do hard pulls, slowing going thru the rpms/gears, etc to fine tune that Stage 4 map??
On the 24 cam install. Do you replace the cam plate and pump or keep it stock. A lot of videos I see say u can run a higher lift cam since the springs are stronger but no one has a video and on the older bikes I know it’s recommended but not sure if it is on the new one.
honestly if you like it and don't really feel the need to spend money then leave it.... but I have been told from one of my dyne buddies that the trask air cleaner kit does well when it comes to making power, obviously when its paired with a cam or motor upgrade. but it looks cool as well lol
@VtwinRevolution thank you I will definitely look into the Trask. I was looking at the vance and hines vo2 falcon since I have the eliminator slip ons. Definitely subscribed thank you
Well…..to be honest you’re probably still under factory warranty, so really I wouldn’t mess with it. HOWEVER ! If you’re not concerned with losing your warranty at this time, bout all you can do is throw a good exhaust and breather on it and have it tuned. I’ll be 100% honest I’m not sure there is a lot of “performance” stuff out yet for the VVT motors I would wait a little longer and see if some of these aftermarket companies like star racing, fueling, S&S etc. come out with cams for these motors. The VVT is here to stay so there will be aftermarket support at some point.
Hey buddy, so if you have a 95” kit you already have a cam in it. The 95” big bore kits came with a SE203 cam. NOW !! You really wanna wake that thing up…..if you can find them the SE204 or the SE211 cam really made those 95’s run reeeaaalllll good lol
Hey Bud good video! I see a lot of guys replacing injectors when doing a stage 2. I have a 2018 breakout anniversary that I’m putting a Star Racing 30/30 in. I have everything to do it including specialty tools. Ive already changed the intake to SS 55mm. Should I also install 5.5 injectors as well?
Thank you ! REALLY !?!? Thats crazy to me…..stock injectors are more than capable of handling 90% of the cams out there….now you start talkin bigger cubes yes you need injectors. The stock is totally fine !! Hey if you’re unsure how to install a cam or have any questions, I literally just uploaded a how to video on installing a cam.
I have a 2021 Street Bob, all stock, installing Tab performance slip ons, with medium baffles, planning on keeping stock air filter, but if i ever upgraded the air box / how would i choose a tune? as i don't ever want to do a dyno tune...Basically keeping a stock bike other than a stage one, for overall reliability of engine. Thanks
That’s a pretty simple answer, not being a smartass. There are several companies you could choose from. SE, power vision, TTS or a fuel-pak while I’m not a fan of the fuel pak they seem to be ok for just a stage 1. But to finish answering you….those other companies all have just stage 1 maps that you can install the only one that’s EPA compliant is the SE tuner so if you wanna run a powervision you can do so or TTS or the fuel pak.
Hi Sean, I have a 2021 Road Glide Limited and I added SVT Boneshaker slip-on's. I wanted to change to a screaming eagle heavy breather snorkel, but I didn't want to do a tune. Is that going to screw up my performance and the bike won't run properly? Thanks in advance.
Hey buddy. If I’m not mistaken your bike came with a ventilator style breather from the factory, so will it change how the bike behaves by going with the snorkel …..maybe a little. Honestly I would just recommend getting a tuner like the PV4, you’ll have a ton of tuning options like for cams or different exhausts down the road
How do I know if my new to me 2012 ultra classic has a stage 2 it has Vance and Hines pipes and a screaming eagle filter but I didn't see any kind of tuner. However it is extremely snappy on the throttle and really moves at around 2grand rpm thanks
So the only way I could tell you would be to look at your pushrod tubes…. Stock pushrod tubes are long at the bottom and short at the top. If you have a cam…your pushrods will look like they are the same length. Unless you have perfect fit pushrods then there isnt really a good way to tell
Finally some honesty from someone who works from HD.
Glad you like it! Also I’ve heard good things about the 22XE cam…a buddy of mine loves his bike with that cam !

NICE !!! You had a lefty bearing installed ?? You plan on doing more engine upgrades later down the road ?

And they sound GREAT !
Guess what! Have the Zombie on the left side and the louvered (mid range) baffle on the rt side. TAB header, SE air and SE tuner. Sounds great and LOTS of torque. The Zombie and mid range baffles work well. 2020 RG, 107.

ANYWAY!! The borezilla muffler is for 110” motors and larger, if there is a way, I would get yourself the fatcat, that muffler is for displacements from 88”-103”
So you have a 15 RG103 stock breather stock motor but have a D&D exhaust ?

I have a question
The power cam would it be better than torque cam. What would my gains be on a 2021 street glide 107
Thank you. So the power cam is gonna be higher RPM so you have more horsepower
The torque cam is gonna give you tons of torque and less horsepower so it’s a trade, where do you want your power to be ? Down low or up high. Personally if you’re thinking about a cam I would do something different than a Harley cam IMO!
I actually put a kerker exhaust on my 2024 Road Glide

I did a big bore S&S 124 with a 475 cam. Didn't run right even after a dyno tune. Turns out my basani exhaust was the issue and wasn't providing back pressure. Switched to khrome werks and instant fix
Just an FYI
Unfortunately sometimes that’s the way it goes….some combos just don’t mesh well, im sure that bike runs good now tho ! I can honestly say I’ve been pretty impressed with how the khrome werks exhaust has made a difference on the M8’s

Great info .. keep um coming👍👍
Thank you !
Thanks for the video. Love the honesty
👍🏻
I've got a 2020 road glide limited. Think ill stick with slip ons for sound. I would like a better throttle response though.
You could always have your head pipe de-catted that would help with heat and give a little better throttle response, cause now the bike is breathing better
@@VtwinRevolution got ya
👍🏻
@VtwinRevolution if I add a header and slip on will I need a tune?
Yes and no.
Yes you need a tuner if you add like Vance and Hines head pipe or Rinehart or khromewerks etc…
No, If you de-catted your head pipe and added slip ons
The only other time you need a tuner is if you change your air cleaner
I’m doing a Stage 0.5, which is just a new breather(S&S teardrop stinger) and no new pipes cause I find stock loud enough.

I got an estimate from my local dealer for stage 2, they mark the HD parts up 20%😂
HD cams are junk and only good for retaining warranty ! Look at fuel moto you can get an entire kit.
Woods 22xe
Star 30/30
S&S 475
S&S 468
All of these are great mid-range cams
I learned that if you buy an extended warranty you have to pay extra and add a "Screaming Eagle" addendum to that extended warranty.
Funny thing is, I just learned about this SE extended warranty like a week ago. Apparently normal ESP doesn’t cover SE performance parts which is why you have to get the SE ESP
How much does that cost?? I'm thinking of doing a stage 1 and maybe stage 2 later. First time I've heard of this.
So basically you’d go talk to a finance guy or a salesman and you purchase the SE ESP like you would a normal ESP it’s cost is based off the amount of years you buy
@@VtwinRevolution OK, thanks!
Let me break it down for you…
If you do slip-on’s only no tuner needed
If you do a air cleaner only it’s best to do a tuner
If you do air cleaner and slip-ons you need a tuner
If you do a header pipe of any kind with a air cleaner you need a tuner
If you do just a header pipe only it’s a good idea to do a tuner
So far the best sounding headpipe that clears the new cam sensor is the chrome werks 2 into 1 and the bike seems to run pretty good. I hope this helps 🤙🏻 congrats on your new bike !
My 22 LRS with slip ons is running hot and has some decel pop... will a powervision pv4 canned tune void whats left of my warranty?
Honestly I wouldn’t worry about your warranty….especially if you only have 6mo or less.
I bought the license last night and flashed the bike this morning ..holy shit its like a different bike.. very impressed. runs cooler, faster, and no decel pop@@VtwinRevolution
AWESOME !! Glad you are happy now dude 🤙🏻
Does stage 1 cancel Warrenty if you use a after market manufacturer like 2 brothers Racing ?.exhaust and pipes
No, the only time your warranty is flagged is if you use an aftermarket tuner
@@VtwinRevolution thank you

Would be great to see the SE 511 cam installed in a 2024 Road Glide of Street Glide. Do you think a Star 30-30 cam will work in a 2024 Road Glide with the Harley SE stage 2 tune?
I was just talking to a guy yesterday, I might talk my owner into doing a 511 cam upgrade with the 30 tooth front pulley. And no I don’t think the SE tuner would work with a star cam. It doesn’t have the capabilities to tune an aftermarket cam

I plan on running a 2-1 d&d billet cat, thunder max tuner, trask air breather, and a 520 or some 500 lift cam ( Jorge from all American cycles and zippers have videos showing there version that produce nice numbers and sound nice)
Any insight from a professional would b helpful thanks
with the cam plate and oil pump it’s all preference, if you wanna upgrade the pump and plate you can BUT ! You really need to have your crank checked for runout, the aftermarket pumps run tighter tolerances meaning they need WAY less runout than what a stock pump and plate would use. You would be surprised at what some of the runouts are on bone stock bikes are !!! As far as the cam goes if you are doing anything 500 lift and over, you need valve springs….don’t chance it. there are some EXCEPTIONAL CAMS that are below 500 lift that are bolt in applications

What would you recommend for a 2 into 1 mid length, for a 24 Roadglide?
sawiki makes a nice pipe
If I install the screaming eagle tuner now, could I install a different tuner with a cam later on after my warranty expires?
Yes.
No, cable adjustment or living the cable does nothing. Kinda wild how that gear change resonates through the cable huh ?

Hey dude, awesome video great information. I was told that as long as you have an EPA regulated tuner Harley cannot void your warranty., like Vance and Hines fuel pack4. Is this true?

If you add the air cleaner but keep the quiet mufflers do you still need to retune?
Yes
@@VtwinRevolution Thank you.
👍🏻
Great video, I just bought an esp with screaming eagle. My dealer always records the torque cam which I had in my last bike but thinking about getting aftermarket cam. Do I or can I cancel my esp if I want an aftermarket cam? I want longevity because I ride a lot of miles. And around the country that’s why I bought the esp.
So I wish I had an answer for you on that, I think you can….but you don’t get reimbursed. ESP is not really something I deal with….BUT ! I will do my best to get you the proper information on Monday
I wish I had a good answer for you on that….BUT Monday when I go back to work I will get the proper info for you so that you can make the best decision for you 🤙🏻
Awesome video.
Thanks dad !
I have a stage 1 on my 06 sporty ,is it worth doing the cams and if so what do you recommend 👍🏻
@@VtwinRevolution cool really appreciate it !! Yes I follow the InfiniteRyda 👍🏻 he’s the reason I follow you 😉
Is the the stock Ventilator intake on the 23 back is the same as the P&A kit ? I read the filter was different in it.
It’s the same and yes the filter is different. You could buy a K&N and put it in its place
Hey Sean, Love this video mate. New to Harley's here
I have a 2023 Ultra limited stage 1 with vance & Hines power duals headers and Rinehart's DBX 45 mufflers, but I feel that they are not loud as what they claim to be. Will a stage 2 make a difference in sound
Congrats on the bike ! That is a yes and no answer. Yes some cams will completely change the sound of your exhaust and no most SE cams will keep it relatively the same. If it was me I would look at the star racing 30/30 cam, the S&S475 cam the woods 22XE or the
shop 67 M480 cam. All these cams are mid-range power and will be the best of both worlds in terms of HP and TQ
@@VtwinRevolution Thank you so much
Happy to help !
@@VtwinRevolution cool. What about 2into1 bassani road rage 3 ?
Those tune REALLY well !
@VtwinRevolution the thing that sucks here Medford Oregon there is no Dyno Tune shop around. I have to go by the map fuel moto sends me .
Yeah that does kinda suck.
On the SE Stage 4 kit, it is worth plugging in my SE tuner on the bike to go out and do hard pulls, slowing going thru the rpms/gears, etc to fine tune that Stage 4 map??
Oh absolutely ! The SE tuner is very limited on the amount it will adjust but any improvement to the map is better than no improvement
On the 24 cam install. Do you replace the cam plate and pump or keep it stock. A lot of videos I see say u can run a higher lift cam since the springs are stronger but no one has a video and on the older bikes I know it’s recommended but not sure if it is on the new one.
I have a full video on a cam install on a 21 or 22 RK Special
@ so the processes is the same for the gen 2 m8 motor as far as the can install and the gen 1 ss plate and pump should fit on the gen 2?
Correct, the only difference from 23-24 is they added a cam sensor cup on the end of the cam, it’s still the same cam design and processes
@@VtwinRevolution ok you got it. Thanks for the reply just subbed.
Happy to help and glad I earned your trust ! If you have ANY questions I will be happy to help the best I can, my email is in my channel description
I have a Streetglide St and i like the lookoftje snorkel it comes with.would you recommend to leave that on or is there a better cleaner option ?
honestly if you like it and don't really feel the need to spend money then leave it.... but I have been told from one of my dyne buddies that the trask air cleaner kit does well when it comes to making power, obviously when its paired with a cam or motor upgrade. but it looks cool as well lol
@VtwinRevolution thank you I will definitely look into the Trask. I was looking at the vance and hines vo2 falcon since I have the eliminator slip ons.
Definitely subscribed thank you
Happy to help 🤙🏻
What do you suggest I do to my 23 1/2 RG 121 vvt CVO to make it faster mid range? I only have Rhinehart slips right now
Well…..to be honest you’re probably still under factory warranty, so really I wouldn’t mess with it.
Thank you bro!
Happy to help !
I thought the higher lift cam from the 121ST is now the stage 2 for the new 117?
The CVOST has the SE515 cam the CVO RG or SG has the SE447 which is the torque cam
@@VtwinRevolution SE8-511 comes in 24 CVO ST. Now available as a kit for the 2024 FL Glides
Gotcha, o thought it was still the SE515 thanks for that 🤙🏻
Hey, I have a 2000 Road King classic with a 95 ci kit installed. I want to do a stage 2 on it. What do you think? Thanks
Do you have to have that cable or can you just plug it in download the app and do it from your phone?
As a dealer we have to have that cable. It’s not completely necessary for you
Hey Bud good video!
@@VtwinRevolution thanks for info
👍🏻
Is it worth getting my Wedge air cleaner stage one dyno tuned? I've already did a Bluetooth tuner but it doesn't feel any different
That’s entirely up to your wallet and do you plan on installing a cam or any other type of motor upgrades
@VtwinRevolution yes, I'll do a cam and other engine beefs after my warrantee runs out in Dec 2025... not sure start they'll have for this new 121 VVT
I would wait till your warranty is up then. By then we should have some cams on the market for these engines
Hey Sean, I will take a look at the PV4. I definitely didn't want to use the HD tuner. Thanks for the advice and stay well.@@VtwinRevolution
Happy to help !!! Keep the shiny side up brother 🤘
