- Join us in installing STEK DYNOgray Paint Protection Film on the new facelifted 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance, completed by the talented team at @metropolitandetail in Redmond, WA. DYNOgray is one of our Fashion Film PPFs, bringing unique innovation to transform any color paint into a durable high-gloss chalk gray finish. This color change Paint Protection Film features the same protection properties as our clear DYNOshield PPF, protecting against rock chips and dings, scratches, insects, bird droppings, road oils, staining, and watermarks. The ceramic-infused top coat creates a hydrophobic surface that beads water right off, and the self-healing layer allows minor scratches and damages to be healed with just a little bit of heat. All this combined makes for a world-class finish with long-lasting protection to your factory paint. This owner also opted in for our ACTIONseries Carbon Window Tint, providing 99% UV protection to the interior and passengers while increasing privacy and decreasing the amount of IR heat that comes in from the sun. Customize and protect your ride with STEK and join the #STEKrevolution! Color and finish may vary slightly from pictures or videos #tesla #teslamodel3performance #stekusa #stekautomotive #stekppf

the most beautiful tesla model 3 performance i have seen so far. this colour fits so good for this car.
We couldn't agree more!
It's hard to beat Ultra Red, but damn this does fits the car insanely good.
Just booked my Dyno grey install on my M3P and hope it’s looks just as good as this one.
Thanks for choosing STEK to protect and stylize your new M3P! We hope you love it
Looks beautiful. That’s the color I was going to wrap mine.
Thank you! Great color choice
Sweet ride!!!
You can say that again!
The finished product is stunning
Thank you, we couldn't agree more!
Should have made those side mirrors black and badging ..overall stunning color ..
We have a beautiful gloss black PPF for anyone who wants to achieve that look! We're glad you like the DYNOgray fashion film as well
Love the fresh look!
That makes two of us!
This ride looks SICK.....................
You can say that again!
PPF looks great. Why is there such a noticeable gap around the tint film on the door glass?
Thank you! As for the gap you mentioned, if you're referring to the gap seen at 3:21, the installer is shrinking the film on the outside of the vehicle before installing it, so the film is not in its final position. If you're referring to the slight gap seen later in the video at 4:16, unless the film has been filed and shaved the industry standard is to leave a minimal gap so that the film doesn’t catch on anything and peel.
@@stekusa it's the gap you refer to as industry standard. When installing a dark film that gap is quite noticeable and not attractive. My installer I have used for 5+ cars says that proper technique used can be gapless and not have any peeling issues. All my cars are installed gapless and have never peeled even after 10 years.
With black gaskets behind the glass, the gap is generally not noticeable or, in some cases, even visible. As you mentioned, it is possible to install edge to edge; once installed on the glass, the installer needs to file and shave the film. Both install techniques are widely used and accepted in the industry. We always suggest discussing install preferences with your installer to make sure the end result is to your liking.
@@stekusa Agree, I'd say with the black gaskets and window all the way up, the gap is never visible. When the windows are rolled down however that gap is not too attractive. My first car I had tinted had this gap and some people commented it looked terrible but the installer I used insisted it was done for longevity reasons which I now know is not true and more likely my installer didn't have the skill to do so. There doesn't seem to be any consumer advantage from having the gap as a proper gapless install has no impact to catch on anything and peel. I guess it might be easier and less time consuming for an installer though so greater turnover and greater profits.
Still not convinced by the new design, but the work is great.
What if you cover the wheel plates ?
Metropolitan Detail does excellent work, that's for sure!
PPF is cool but too expensive especially stek, All thew quotes around me for stek full body is over $7k which is more than 10% of the car. Also its much cheaper to repaint than get PPF so whats the point?
Hello, and thank you for your feedback! We understand that PPF may not be the best or most viable option for all vehicles. The value of our color change PPF is that you're changing the look of your car with a quality finish that looks as good as a high-end paint job while protecting the OEM paint. Should you ever decide to remove it or resell the vehicle, having a pristine OEM finish can help maximize the value of your vehicle. While you can find a paint job in the price range you mentioned, generally, those are lower quality, last less than 5 years, and may negatively impact the resale value. Higher-quality paint jobs typically range from $15-25K and require a high level of disassembly and typically multiple weeks to complete, where PPF is less invasive and typically done quicker.
Good luck getting any decent full paint job for less than $15k.
people are doing ppf whole car for around 3.5k with stek + 1000 for whole car ceramic outside and inside tint = 550-1000 for every window even winshield and sunroof. totalling 5.5k for avg cost . theres shops in la that will do all of it for 4.5k-5k tops. those shops still charging 7k for ppf are full of it ive been to the best shops in ca bay area and they all had to lower price due to other shops and even tesla doing it for 5k.
@@thang1742I wish we got those prices in Florida, I’m not opposed to the idea of PPF, it’s just the prices. I was actually considering dyno shift green from stek for my model 3 performance but couldn’t find anything less than $9k. As far as the 15k - 25k paint jobs, those high priced paint jobs carry the same issue as PPF, its 90% labor. A single roll of high end PPF is about $1500 - $2k and materials for a high quality paint job wouldn’t run anything over $5k.

Damn that things cold! 🥶
Quick q: why didn’t u put the TESLA bage(s) back on the rear?
We're the manufacturer and distributor of the film, so we did not make that decision. The customer and the shop decided not to reapply the badges to achieve the customer's desired look. The badges can be put back on if the customer desires.
Looks good! Although it should have black badging
Black badging would be a nice touch for sure!
TOP ! 👍
Hella clean 🩶🩶🩶 I woulda went white interior tho
We're glad you're enjoying the new look!
Ok. I have ultra red for this car and don’t get jealous about any other colors, but this one right here 😅
quicksilver incoming for model 3 in europe
@@Siphodias92 for performance I stilll like the red but QS slaps too
These cars look great in ultra red! We've been loving the look of our matte paint protection film, DYNOmatte, over Ultra Red
Is this manually cut on the go or are you using pre cuts from a computer template? Just cause in the past I've had to wait 6-12 months before a template comes out for installers.
Excellent question! Our paint protection films can be installed using pre-cut templates, bulk (custom hand cut), or a combination. The installation technique is often the installer's preference but can vary by vehicle or customer preference. A well-experienced installer should be able to offer you either. We'd suggest talking to your preferred local installer to discuss the available options for your car. If you need help finding installers, check out the locator on our website!
Gorgeous
Thank you, we think so too!
HOW THICK IS THAT FILM? AND DO YOU GUYS HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THE 3M SATIN FLIP GHOST PEARL COLOR?
This film, as well as most of our paint protection films, is 8 mil thick. We do not currently offer a film that exactly matches the film you mentioned. However, you may like our DYNOprism PPF. It is a metallic color-shift film with a clear base, so the paint color underneath determines the aesthetic once installed.
@@stekusa I'll check it out! Thanx!!
Here's a recent video we did installing DYNOprism on two dark blue vehicles: ua-cam.com/video/MvpZe3AaSfo/v-deo.html
Darker colors, such as black and blue, will be the most vibrant, with a blue and purple tone, while lighter colors, like white and grey, are more subtle and have a purple and pink tone.

Question here! 3:07 does the liquid stain the headliner at all when installing the tint?
Great question! This rarely happens as the solution is water-based, and soak absorbers are in place to minimize excess water runoff.
How close is that color to audi nardo gray?
DYNOgray is inspired by the concrete grey color popularized by many European manufacturers. It's pretty close to Nardo Gray. However, we'd suggest asking a local installer to see a sample to ensure it's to your liking.
I am speechless! It looks fantastic..i wonder if you could let us know the colour code of this dynogray
What is the different between the ceramic and PPF?
We're glad you asked! Paint protection films and ceramic coatings are popular options for protecting your car’s paint, and both have advantages. One of the main differences is that ceramic coatings are a liquid application that creates a hard coating on top of your car's paint to help prevent oxidation and UV damage. This is most beneficial for easier washing and maintenance. PPF is a urethane-based plastic that is a self-sacrificial layer that creates a tangible and durable barrier of protection against scratches, rock chips, contamination, and other damages. Overall, PPF is going to provide the most protection.
@@stekusa thank you so much for your reply
How long does it take for yuou guys to do this?
Install time will vary depending on the vehicle and installation specifications. However, it's generally 3-5 days for a full-body install like the one shown in this video. If you would like more specific info on install time for your car, we suggest contacting an installer in your area. You can find our installer locator here: www.stek-usa.com/company/find-an-installer/
How much was this installed?
We filmed this at one of our authorized installers locations and do not handle the direct retail ourselves, your best bet to get an accurate quote would be to reach out to a local STEK installer, which you can find on our website linked in the description!
So what’s the cost range?
A full body color change typically costs $8500-$12500, but prices for Teslas may be slightly less. For a more exact quote on your vehicle, we suggest you contact an installer in your area. Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
I know Stek doesn't sell direct to consumers but I have worked with your material before and would love to be able to buy a roll or two; probably the easiest to work with between Scotch and Avery. Maybe make an exception? 🙏
We're so glad you enjoyed working with our films! We do apologize, however, we cannot make an exception to our purchasing requirement as we require accredited training and a business license to purchase our product as a means of installation quality control.
@@stekusa got it, I'll have to keep buying your products from a reseller; I understand the need to protect brand image though.

🔥
Thank you!
This is a fade color. Stick with simple. Everyone remember burnt orange......😅
We've offered DYNOgray for many years now, and fortunately, we have many other great colors to choose from in our Fashion Film lineup as well!
looks way better with stealth grey
We think so too!
Paint protection film used to be a simple cheap thing , now they use fancy words and fancy packaging to convince you its no longer just plastic and thats how they take your monney!
PPF is an advanced thermoplastic polyurethane that takes countless hours and, in many cases, years of practice to install at a high-quality level that many consider an art form. Film technology and manufacturing processes have continually improved since PPF was first introduced. We strive to improve our products and lead the industry in innovation. For example, ceramic coatings are a relatively new form of protection in the detailing world. As ceramic protection became popular, we sought to incorporate the technology into our film, eventually introducing our ceramic-infused top coat.
Modern-day PPF is nearly invisible when installed properly and incorporates a lot of new technology, like ceramic coatings, that help the film's durability and longevity so that the investment can stay looking good for up to 10 years. We understand it's not for everyone, but if you want to protect your car, truck, SUV, boat, or other frequently used toys, it is the most durable option for protecting from rock chips, scratches, stains, and other common damages.
How is it legal to tint front side windows that much. No way that other drivers can see the eyes of the driver clocking them. So dangerous.
Tint laws vary by state, in Washington, all side and rear windows “Must allow more than 24% of light in.” The ACTION 35% used on this vehicle is well within the legal limit here in Washington.
I can’t imagine paying someone thousands to cover my car in saran wrap. Just dumb.
We couldn't either. Fortunately, our Paint Protection Films use highly advanced technologies to protect and stylize your car for years to come.
@@stekusa protect the paint for the next owner. Got it.
They really need to update the side view , looks really dated
We wouldn't mind seeing an update to the sides to complete the revamp!
