- Please begin at 16:00 if you have just come from my old channel :) The last-born in Nora's troop, she was not only one of the prettiest babies but also one of the clingiest out there. Did she have an insecurity issue? Whatever the case, things were beginning to look up for her before the end of 2023 before they went haywire tragically.
I just wanted to say I enjoy your videos so much and I’m so thankful you’re on here showing people what real monkey behavior is without diapers, clothes, VOs taunting them, and trauma given to them by awful humans. Thank you for all your hard work.

There’s a website called Vervet Monkey Foundation also that shows people saving orphan Vervet monkeys in South Africa and getting them to a point where they can be put in a new troupe with foster Monkey moms. In all their videos they talk about how horrible it is to take babies away from their moms and put them in diapers.
I’m so saddened by all these baby’s deaths and disappearances. Bebe was such a beautiful baby. 😢
This is the first video I’ve watched from this guy and I can’t stop crying. If his other videos are like this, I don’t know if I can continue watching them. I guess that’s the way life is and it’s a better life than living in a cage as somebody’s test, subject, or pet.
@karamichael2577 not all his videos are sad. They're done beautifully and show how these monkeys actually live and behave. However, Arroz always does a tribute video for those that are gone. Unfortunately, he only knows They're gone when he doesn't see them for awhile. That's why he can't tell us what actually happened to them. This year was an unusually bad year for losses in the troops he follows. Check out his videos from years past. They're quite enjoyable. This Arroz Marrisco channel goes back to 2016 when he really started following them in earnest.
Most of his videos are just fun, funny and educational. Once in a while he will make videos like this to pay tribute to a baby lost or an adult. Am is very close to these beautiful creatures and it becomes very hard on him

A truly lovely story of the prettiest girl on the hill 2023. To have lived such a brief life with so much to experience ahead. One would think she would have been a wonderful mom in the future. No doubt that Banjo has been a comfort to Bee this winter. AM, You told her story well and she was a sweet one.

My best theory is that she had a bad fall once they got back into the forest. She was limping, but still very mobile and able to keep up with the troop, and young enough that one of Norma's other daughters would've tried carrying her when her mom wasn't around. However with her leg still healing it would've made climbing by herself incredibly dangerous. Still very sad all around, you can tell Bee is showing signs of grief and confusion after her loss.
She was attacked. Falls don’t leave wounds like that.
@@A-Spicy-Pepper I was talking about the circumstances of her passing, not her wound. That was most likely her getting caught in a scuffle between troops.
@@kendee_ unfortunately we’ll never know. With her injury, it definitely made her not be able to run as fast, either another attack or hit by a car 🤷🏽♀️

I kind of feel like daycare was more of a kidnapping, but I love your positive attitude. Sweet video. Dude! I started writing my comment before the video was over. That was so terrible. She looks like she had a bone coming out of her leg. Poor thing I feel like the story so far is a little bit misleading. It seems more like just the story, period. Anyway, the video is nice and I like the music that you chose but I really hate that it ended sadly.

How sad. I wonder if it was an infection or she re-injured it and couldn't recover or likes others have said it caused her to fall or maybe not get away from a car quick enough.

She had a wound on her back leg the last time she was seen. AR seemed to think it resulted in her death somehow. With so much jungle there's no way to tell since it didn't happen on the rd

It can be hard on mother and infant when a mother gives birth late in the season, and the infant is many months younger than than others born in the same generation. For most babies, by the time breeding season comes about, mothers know whats coming and have been weaning their young and doing what they can too see that they have firmed social groups with others in the same age group and have taught them to go to older siblings or other relatives when it comes time for mom to participate in breeding activities since those still nursing, very clo gy and dependant on mom can be found to be a source of utter frustration for males, especially if their are struggles among males for breeding and priducing their own offspring. If a youngster wants to nurse or cling to mom or will not go off with siblings or relatives, a male can end up treating a younger offspring roughly and sadly the next breeding cycle can often be more important to mom than protecting last years offspring. Its very possible that sonething as sad as Bebe being knocked off of mom or out of a tree left her injured. Thus in turn could have made her more needy for mom's attention whoch in turn caused her to suffer further injury during times her mother was breeding with msles that could help her climb a social position in the troop. And, if an alpha or beta male decided to pay attention to Bee, knew Bebe was the offspring of a lesser male or a male from a bachelor troop, its not unheard of that a alpha or Beta make will do away with an infant.

Hey gang! I would surmise that Bebe, however she was injured took a few steps back developmentally more than physically. Do we or AM know that she perished? Is she just missing or is it so out of character that she is presumed dead?

Great Video and very full of Suspense. The baby girl Bebe may have found other family friends to associate with. Usually girl Monkeys will form their own social groups and beat up all males who are Stealing their food. Bebe may have died from lack of food or is searching for better meals.

This was her thirdborn and second loss. She also lost her firstborn, Banjo, also at about 6 months of age. Mating season is a bit of a hurdle for the kids, it seems.

Any speculations on how they disappear, I ve asked several times does any one know of the natural predators the monkeys have 😢😢😢
I think predation is unlikely as the whole troop could protect against a predator just like they will fight other monkey troops together. I think illness or falls or being hit by cars are more likely. She might have gotten and infection or sepsis from her injury or fallen.
Humans are the worst predators. Not saying that’s what happened, just that the worst thing that happens to them usually comes from humans.😢

Accidental deaths claim most, but there have been several caused by spayed females (Bo & Dorothy come to mind) kidnapping infants from their mothers, causing the babies to die of dehydration and starvation. Given their amazing ability to heal from injuries, only a few deaths are caused by infections. Some deaths are a mystery like those few in Bossy's troop who seemed fine at first, then just slowly slipped away.

It’s crazy how well-behaved and nice these monkeys are compared to the Sovanna ones!! The moms aren’t constantly beating the crap out of the kids, not of each other and fighting isn’t right next to them.
That whole troop is tainted by interfering humans. Mother monkeys just don’t normally do that when they’re left alone. It’s happened on numerous occasions that the babies are separated from their moms and troops for days, and when they’re brought back, they don’t smell right anymore and are treated like outsiders, causing them to get bullied. And sometimes, they’re kept away so long that the mother goes into estrus again and is forced to wean a young one too soon. That becomes a compounded tragedy because not only are their babies/young coming back starved for their mother’s attention and clinging pitifully, their independence has been pushed back, so the mother’s coercion is that much more unwanted and fought, until it becomes discipline. It’s sad because now a whole host of people have been manipulated into believing macaques are just jerks and they’re really not. If they were that out of control, they wouldn’t still be used in biomedical research so much. They’re quite docile, as you can see in these videos. Another thing that creates chaos is humans feeding the lower ranking ones out of turn and feeding selectively. It’s horrible what they’ve done to that entire troop.

@@raaaaaaarr I don’t know that they were all originally pets, but yes, a lot of them are apparently former pet macaques whose owners couldn’t care for anymore… at least, that’s what those filming say. It may very well be true and at the rate these people have been getting new baby macaques over the past several years, I don’t doubt there have been many who were discarded.
@@korrinschilling9909 Exactly. It’s really worrying that there are so many who literally want the babies, specifically, un-alived (as people say now). It’s just as unnerving as those who are completely anthropomorphizing the pet macaques on YT. … actually, I take that back, the people that hate, HATE baby macaques scare me WAY worse than some ladies in their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s wanting to believe the storylines. … both are scary for some similar reasons… the destruction of several species and generations of macaques, but the haters have even deadlier implications, if research is to be believed.
