What are your thoughts on Virgin Atlantic?
not at their prices ,almost every carrier is way cheaper now ,Virgin is nothing special now ,it was in the old days but you can only carry a brand name and reputation for so long, i speak from experience having travelled with them twice a year on holiday since 2000 missing only a year due to covid
My mum works for this company and has been working there for 18 years
Great Vlog post... Love your mother being on this long trip.... Looking forward to see how you get her to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon
Virgin Atlantic are superb in my opinion... so much better than British Airways. Glad you enjoyed your flight ✈️
Glad you liked it. More videos from this trip will be coming in the following weeks.
Had the pleasure of flying Virgin last year from LHR to SFO - truly excellent service outbound and inbound. Their A350s are excellent too, well worth catching one!
That was a lovely flight and especially for your mum , glad they looked after you both and the onboard service excellent , cheers
Many thanks! I'd definitely recommend Virgin Atlantic after this experience.
A very good blog I agree virgin Atlantic is very good and friendly
Nice to see someone with sensible expectations about flying Y these days
Thank you, that genuinely means a lot. Like most folk I'm very much flying Y most of the time.
I've always liked flying Virgin, there's just a warm extra touch to the customer service that you don't get often with some competitors.
Another great video, Dom….very impressed with Virgin Atlantic’s service for Disabled people. I think more people need to be aware of this so hopefully your videos will help in this respect.
Thanks. Glad you thought so. I happily give my time to showcasing airlines that do well for disabled travelers. Personally i see it as, if you paid for the ticket, you should travel, doesn't matter if your fully able or not the contract between you and the airline mean that they have to get you from A to B.
Dom, hope your mother enjoyed this flight as much as you did. Virgin Atlantic is still my fave airline but it withdrew London to Tokyo flight in ‘16 and I miss it. I‘ve found an alternative to visit my hometown, which is All Nippon Airways. I recommend ANA you can fly directly to Tokyo. It’s the equivalent to Virgin as for Japan Airlines/JAL to BA. Now can I ever fly with Virgin again but where to? June of London
My sister has recently had some mobility issues and says it certainly gives you a hugely different perspective on travel. You need to do extra preparations and planning but so far she’s had some very good experiences.
I have lived away from the UK for 28 years and 24 of of these on the American side of the atlantic. I regularly fly back to London and have travelled on all kinds of carriers. Virgin Atlantic economy is the best, very superior to British Airways. The customer service is way better in all respects as is the on board service and F&B.
I do enjoy your vlogs, Dom. This one was special because I am not allowed to fly any longer and I got the feeling of flying. I always thought Virgin was superior to BA. Keep them coming and safe travels, mate
A great travel report. Flew on Virgin four times. Helpful friendly staff for the most part.
Hi dom you should fly with wideroe airlines from Aberdeen to Bergen it’s a good price and a really good airline and there very fast with your bags and the planes are extremely clean
Another great video, and glad to see that you had no issues with the assistance. Didn't realise that about the Tesco points, think I know what I'll be using mine for from now on. I've enjoyed all my flights with Virgin Atlantic and find the service to be one of the best I've experienced, although I did find the seats on the A350 to be very uncomfortable compared to their A330 and A340 flights I've been on
とても良いレビュー動画でした!
Found it very interesting as in 2 weeks will be flying from New Zealand to Los Angeles on Air New Zealand then to London on VA. Very informative,
Hope you and mum had a lovely time, enjoyed video as always
The seat headrest seems the same as the LNER First Class seat, where it keeps sliding down! Personally I would have the cream first, then the jam.. but that's just me! Great video
Thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked it. I can confirm that the seats are better than LNER's coach seats.
Another good video, love the Greenland shots.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. If you liked the Greenland part, then I would recommend my Air Greenland videos there are some breathtaking views there.
I travel on this route with Virgin may 6-8 times a year. I'm travelling solo for work so usually am sitting next to someone I don't know. Maybe 50% of the time when I am sat next to an American I have to explain what a scone is. Usually, 2-3 minutes later they will ask me what clotted cream is...
I'm from Cornwall mate and it's jam first definitely for a proper cream tea. It's the ONLY way.
Being Scottish I might be inclined to side with Cornwall but Does Devon agree 😉
A fucking men
You and Scott from Planes Trains Everything could be best friends given how much coffee you drink in every video
haha I'd be more than happy to do some collaborations with people, especially if they love a good coffee.
Looks like VS can still offer a great Y class product. I wondered why you hadn't chosen to fly Norse ...until you mentioned the Tesco promotion at the end.
Their 787 Dreamliner is their worst Economy crush. Its the aircraft with the greatest reason to have Premium Economy instead - and all the more so because it's their old type wide version of the seat. The greatest contrast between cabins in their fleet.
By the way the aircraft type with the least point in going PE is their newer A330, that's the A330-900neo. Being a 2-4-2 A330, Economy is pretty decent ( best on the airline ) and the PE is the much narrower new seat type.
You should go to the galley. They have a lot of snacks!
To be honest there were plenty of snack and meal services that means for the most part you don't really need to, but when i fly VA again I'll be sure to do that.
Great stuff Dom, that's a pretty long flight for most people, so was good to see that Virgin do a good job. Could be a thing coming up for me in the near future. This might be an odd question, but why were you separated from your mother during the Special Assistance phase getting to the gate? Would they not let you just tag along with her? Not sure my mum would like that, I think she'd want me to stay with her.
The buggy that they were using was full as they were taking passengers to several flights at the same time so I took the wheelchair to the gate myself. My mother is personally find with it but i take your point that others may not like that.
@@WorldWide_Dom Thanks for the reply - I think my mum would understand in that scenario. I guess we'll see when it happens!
@@WorldWide_Dom Ah OK , that makes sense, thanks for the reply. I'm sure the staff will be fine and professional with whatever scenario. I'll find out soon enough!
Dom hope your Mum enjoyed her holiday. 😁
It's jam! The cream simply isn't stable enough to allow cream to be spread on top.
I'm not sure Devon would agree 😉
Love the vids !!!
Britains upscale charter
Jam first all day long, long live Cornwall
Great vlog, just wanted to ask if you collect virgin points for flying the route when you redeem a reward flight or not? 😊
Thanks for watching! Sadly not, most airlines don't allow you to gain additional miles from reward flight, I wish they did.
@@WorldWide_Dom thanks for the response and for confirming. I’m getting a Virgin Atlantic credit card etc to start building up points to save on future flights so learning how all the reward system works currently!
@@Adam2kk35 I'd check virgin money too to double up, sometimes they have offers on where by you get X number of points, usually thousands for Depositing Y amount into the account.
@@WorldWide_Dom will do! I’ll keep a look out anyway as I’m going to do Tescos clubcard points and Virgin Atlantic credit card as the main 2 to start off with at least 😂
can you charge your phone from a usb port?
Most uncomfortable flight I ever have taken on virgin 787 to miami
Luckey luchano can you find robby lotory before 1030 asked the cleaner if every were they doing war from french side fat man out.
Product not really consistent-?A350 seats are narrower than A330 . ..Cornish scone ? Cream second Devon sconev? Cream first...
