YES !
Aww man that was great!
Beautiful bass solo.
THE BLACK AND WHITE ADDS SOMETHING TO THE SOUND - wow and great performance - slow - as it was made originally - sometimes bands make it faster - and this is one of those pieces that suffer if you make them faster - there must be that suspence - - - how do you spell suspence .... ???
Jazz Education has lost it's way....It relates very little to the times we live in. Having said that, the people these young musicians are taught to copy and imitate were on the cutting edge of their time.
Jazz is becoming like a lot of classical/orchestral music....A museum piece.
Here are a some links to where jazz evolved in our time.
Chirs Lightcap's Bigmouth - Deluxe
A Pouting Grimace - Matt Mitchell
Black Host - Gerald Cleaver.
Why not both?
I think your confusing assertiveness with musicality and thoughtfulness. Remember these young players are just starting to build their vocabulary. Definitely paying tribute to the masters couldnt possibly be construed as being stuck in the past. If thats what your saying youve missed something essential. PeaCe.
@@donaldlinke5233 agreed. Also some songs transcend generational barriers. A lot of these young artists are keeping alive beautiful music.
