Is the loud background noise in this video from the microphone? Or is that the actual ambient noise underneath the water. If that is how loud it is, no wonder the populations of sea creatures is dropping. I have to wear earplugs when I'm out and about in the city. The underwater creatures do not get to make that choice. Some days I am so ashamed to be a human. No wonder the whales choose to avoid Puget Sound when possible. It's horrible.
If nothing else your video definitely bring attention to the noise pollution in the Sound
I had no idea it was that noisy under water. I feel bad for all marine life.
There is one species of seahorse that lives in Puget Sound , that kelp bed might be a good place to film one.
@dianacryer ill keep an eye out for them. I found lots of shrimp in the grass so far.
Now I need to look for shrimp. 😆

Looks like alot of Shiner Perch. The motor noise is disappointing. At least we're not seeing plastic bags floating by.
Thanks for sharing.
@johnmca5643 There were a lot of boats fishing for salmon.
My guess is the noise comes from outboard motors; sound travels further and almost twice as fast under water.
@jayhershey7525 there were tons of boats fishing for salmon. Trolling back and forth.
Where in the Puget Sound region is this?
@@ianmc87 It's Redondo beach in Des Moines.
@@UnderwaterFlix Okay, thanks.
Boy is it noisy under water.
@breeze787 yeah when the boats are going you can really hear them.
Another form of pollution
The fish is Cymatogaster aggregata, one of the sea perch species in Puget Sound
Yeah, I was thinking it must be close to a marina or something.
@standorf441 It's close to the boat launch, but there are lots of boats passing pretty close, trying to catch salmon.

@Jazna1 Yeah, that sound is all the boats going by trying to fish for salmon.
