I also have strong feelings on the use of phones at any sort of concert. Why would you want to put a layer between you and the experience, just enjoy that moment in its entirety without a distraction. It's never made sense to me because there's always professionals there recording whatever event it is so you can watch the professional footage later, of decent quality over your phone video
Great video! There will always be needs on both sides. Perhaps audiences should be able to choose between paying for concerts where devices are allowed Vs not allowed. This would mean offering two separate performances of the same material.
Phones are ruining every social interaction so why would they not be ruining classical concerts?

I personally do not mind phones themselves all that much. What I do hate is phones going off and getting dropped in the slow movement of the piece.
