Thanks so much. You've just convinced me to purchase this machine. I read through a few articles that were basically saying Wifi connectivity is only good for notifications and can't send remote instructions to the machine. I guess that was an end user issue.

I dont understand the point of this on a washer. You still have to get up to put the clothes in. Since your up anyway might as well just use the dial real quick instead of loading up your phone.
Exactly what I was going to question!
The only use case I can think of is leaving the clothes inside, when you are leaving your home and don't know when you're coming back, then you can start the cycle when you have an idea about your return time. Because if you know when you are coming back, you can just delay the start/end accordingly, which I always use on my 10yo machine.
Just thought of something else. Maybe it can give better feedback on error codes?
For example, instead of showing ER17 or whatever, it could explain what the issue actually is, like "clean your disgusting filter".
Same question I got. Only real advantage I guess is saving different programs with exact settings that you want in the app and reuse them with a single click. or someone need to explain better what is the real benefit here.

Hi! I've just bought this washer but it is in a laundry room 3 floors down my apartment so I can't connect it to my Wifi. There was an option to connect using my cellular data as hotspot but it didn't work. Do you know anything about that? Maybe we need to use two phones, one with cellular data acting as an hotspot and the other connecting to the hotspot?

Hi Mr Washy, maybe stupid question but drives me crazy… all set up and wifi stuff is done , all connected to the phone, but as soon as the washing cycle finish I receive the message at the phone then press ok. The Smart connector remains ON and the door is locked. Can I unlock the door from the phone? Or to open the door I need to turn off Smart Control?… hope you can help me. Thanks.

Hi! I will ask a question. When smart control is on, you can control by smartphones. But after washing finished, you power off the machine. And next time you power on the machine, Do you need to press the smartphone button , to reactivate the smart control? Is there a way to make smart control active always?

Yes. You can have complete app control. You can switch it on and off with the app and start remotely

Does your machine have any vibration while going into spin mode.
Mine tends to have this slight vibration when preparing for the spin. Appreciate if you can share your experience with that.
Hi yes they do that, it’s just the machine balancing the clothes on left and right. It adjusts for those vibrations by adjusting spin speed. That’s why it starts offf slow and takes a bit of time to get to full spin

Really not a fan of the smartthings integration. Can't configure a wash to include pre-wash or an intensive load. Unless I'm missing something?

you could go into your wifi modem settings and setup a different guest wifi network that is not 5G

Welcome hi. If you turn on the smart control it will turn itself off and then you can turn it on via the app anytime you want
When I edit cycle in app can I save it in to washer for using without app? Also when I remove some not usefull cycles from list in app they are also remove from selector on washer?

Hi yes I think it will be under download cycle. Im not too sure if it will remove some from the washer. Maybe experiment with that. I am waiting to get new stock so I will play around with that when I get it

I haven't tried it before but I think you'll have an issue coz you need an external device apart from your phone to do the hot spotting

@@askmrwashywashy Hi thanks for getting back to me , yes i have reinstalled the app. right now for example the app is showing the length cycle of time, it shows the wifi symbol on the washing machine and when i changed washing programs it changed on the app, but it keeps saying for monitoring only. i even changed my wifi to 2.4ghz as apposed to 5ghz .

I have downloaded the app for my SAMSUNG Series 5+ Auto Dose WD80T534DBW/S1 however it doesnt show any cycles in the middle where the laundry planner is nor does it in my cycle list. I can see my washing machine and see when its on/pause it but cannot start any cycles from the app. Any ideas?

Nobody has really explained the number of rinses. To wash you dose washing powder and a rinse liquid to the proper place in the drawer. Then how this Samsung machine applies multiple rinse - is the FIRST rinse consuming the rinse liquid (fabric softener)? And then this first rinse finishes and the second rinse starts (hey, no more fabric softener in the drawer, right?) so it uses only water for the second rinse (so technically removes the fabric softener from your clothes), and then the second rinse finishes and the third rinse starts (yeah, again no softener in the drawer) so your clothes are water-rinsed again, and with fourth and fifth rinse the same, so finally you were an idiot using the fabric softener at all? Or PERHAPS it applies all rinses BUT the "last one" with the water flowing through the washing powder compartment in the drawer, and ONLY applies water through the softener compartment so the fabric softener is only applied during the very last rinse? This is totally not clear. And this is an extremely important information regarding the product

Hi.. I had the same issue. When from the app tells you to push the smart control button. Press it only once and not hold it. Because the button has 2 functions. When you press it only you can control the washing machine from the app and when you keep it hold it goes on AP.
The AP function is there only for the installation only.

I paired my device a year ago, and i have been using smart control since then. Yesterday it started doing this: when i long press smart control it says AP on the screen. Normally it is already paired and should not write AP on the screen. it should only display sc icon on the screen as you show on the video. When AP message is on the screen, smart things see the device as disconnected. 😢 I tried removing the device from the smart things app and re-adding the device but the problem is still there. Hope someone can help me on this one.
My bad i was trying to long press the button all this time, this sets the machine into AP mode, instead you just press once.

Yes it is possible; the uploader missed it. It took me a while to find but make sure your phone is currently paired with the machine and then press the 'Laundry Planner' button. Here you can select the exact time you want your wash to finish and if you have enabled the smart control, you can adjust the end time/programme/pause and resume remotely

Liquid or powder on the left hand side. You have two options. Auto Dispense and Washing Powder

Hi sorry to here you are having issues. Did you press and hold the finger button for 3-4 seconds which will bring up the system functions menu ? After that you should be able to scroll through the menu and access the wifi on off option

How many people are really going to want to learn this? What utility does it really provide? Isn't the idea that doing the laundry should be less and work with time as technology progresses?
Hopefully it gets better with time, easier quicker connection.Once you have it connected though its easy enough
Nfc Technology will advance and automatically connect everything just by putting your phone near the nfc chip. Give it a couple more years.

I was referring to Mr Washy Washys statement that it will get easier pairing your phone to your WM eventually.
Connecting your WM to your phone is practical when it is placed in your basement. Very common in European rentals. You will get notified once the WM is finished washing.
Wifi connection can be established through the NFC process because it could share Wi-Fi details from your phone to your WM.
I have the same washer and it setups and registers fine to smart things/internet connection. However, it goes offline shortly afterwards and doesn't reconnect. Anyone here have the same issue? I do have the "stay connect" setting turned on within smartthings.

Boys and their toys!! I would never go out and leave the washing machine on, probably come home and find a big soapy puddle all over the kitchen floor! If you have a poor internet connection, would that slow the machine down whilst it is buffering? Just because you can, should you? I think I'll stick to manual control...
I don't think Washing quality is bad if we have poor Internet connection. Once Data is set and start, Washing quality will not depend internet. It just affect before washing

@@casperfalandysz3111 Same with me, only have the send option in the app if it's turned off. It might look like the precondition is that the machine has to be powered on before you can control it entirely by the app.
Why you use app if the machine is turned off??? You can open the app, but you can not set parameter for washing cycle and your washer is offline on app at that time.

In my washing machine as soon as you turn on smart control the machine disconnects from the wifi.

Hi.. For those that they have problems with smarthings app. That when you press the smart control button on the machine it's disabled the wifi, I fix it.
The smart control button has 2 functions. 1. When you press it and keep it hold for 3 seconds it goes on AP mode. This function is to be used only once when are installing it. 2. When you press the same button once, you enable the smart control. So when you are on the app and it's says that you are offline, press the smart control button once and then you are enable to control the washing machine from your app.
