- Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is putting in early work to win over voters before the next federal election, even though it could come as late as October 2025.
Poilievre’s efforts include campaign-style visits to evangelical Christian churches in Liberal ridings.
As David Akin explains, while evangelicals don't play as active a role in politics in Canada compared to the U.S., the Tories are courting their votes.

It's no different when Trudeau campaigns in mosques, synagogues, gurdwaras, and other places of worship. What's the big deal? As a politician, you need to seek out your crowd.
True... For me it's that I follow American politics, and Trump was doing a lot of this before ushering in abortion bans and getting extreme Christian judges on the courts. Some of us are concerned Pierre is following suit, just marginally more subtle about it. Albertans say they want Pierre to be Canada's Trump. Some wanted to break away from Canada and follow Trump.

Somehow Christians are the only religious group not allowed to get involved in politics, despite being the largest religious group in Canada and the one most targeted by political violence (the 100+ churches attacked by arsonists, which Trudeau somehow never mentions in his endless speeches about islamophobia and anti-semitism).

And prove Trudeau's never stepped inside a "protestant" (aka Christian) church.
Us getting involved in politics is not the same as using a church to praise a political candidate nor a sermon in favor of that candidate. I'm voting for Pierre but the tainting of churches had better stop.
Church's "taint" themselves. No one does it for them. Mother Teresa's a perfect example...she raised millions for the church. It went to the Vatican, not the people she claimed to serve.
Pete supported truckers breaking the law under the guise of defending freedom, then immediately supported his premier taking away freedom and rights.

I must have missed the news. In Ontario provincial elections, you have the option of declining your ballot. But by spoiling your ballot you can write a little protest message which might be read by party volunteers monitoring the ballot counting.
