I just want to cry thinking he died alone on Christmas Day. Rest In Peace George.
I think he was a good man. And that he didn't deserve living this tragedy. Also, although being recognized, I think he still was "underrated" because of misunderstanding. I myself believed he was just a "boys band" with Wham!, I was young at that time, then I realized he was a true musician, a real artist with a real voice. But I guess that I was not alone being misled in the 80''s...
At the end, I became one of his "fan" even if I don't really like this word.
I can assure you Angela that you're not the only person to get chills hearing this song. Epic is a perfect word for this performance.
Seeing the video adds to the phenomenal performance. The video hasn't got blocked yet.
George Michael had just an incredible voice. Elton and George was a perfect fit. Thanks Angela for this reaction.🤗👍
Dead right, Elton is a powerhouse. He commands those brilliant songs of his. I recommend Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters most of all.
Superb song, yes. Elton top 20 or so for me, which is saying a helluva lot, and higher for many others
Yes I've seen & met Elton John years ago, I was 14 yrs old, 1974, at the John Lennon Airport, Liverpool UK, by accident. My brother got his autography but ofcourse we lost it!!! Such a magical time THEN, but ofcourse this song with George Michael really is EPIC!!!!!! 💝💝💝💝💝
The duet the world needed and didn’t know it.
George ❤️
This duet is just perfection.
Elton John is epic titanic majestic! And George Michael is so well spiritually tuned to this song!
The best ever
One of the best duets of all time, especially in the combination with two men!
Ive watched the video a million times. I never tire of it. The boys just sound so good together.
This song is and will always be a classic, you need to watch it live
George Michael's vocals were out of this world. I frequently watch the video on youtube, and the performance of these two superstars brought tears to my eyes.
George Michael's voice is so effortlessly smooth. It's what makes this song addictive
I love Elton as singer songwriter but I think george michael made this song even better
What a legend George was sadly missed!!!!!
The perfect duet!!! ❤️❤️❤️
The Audience’s Reaction gave me Goosebumps! 🔥
I sure do miss George MIchael. He left us too soon.
I'm a straight man, but this song (and many of George Michael's songs) are some of my favorites. He was TRULY TALENTED.
Elton once said that if he had the raw talent of George, he could have made the world forget about the Beatles.
Awesomeness
Great reaction and RIP GEORGE MICHAEL
This is live on you tube in concert, it's absolutely awesome.
Two icons, one lost too early! RIP George Michael
You really do need to see the live version of Elton and George performing this duet together, the passion and performance between them is fantastic.
That's exactly what i think, everytime i hear this performance..."damn it would be amazing to be there for this".
George, we miss you. White boy had SOUL!
Hello Angela, welcome to a new week. This is a beautifully arranged, captivating and stunning performance, and I never tire of it. Watching the live video is better yet. Thank you for featuring this, it made my day!👍👍❤❤
Epic Exactly
Cannot believe you listen to a live performance looking at a picture wow
This performance is hard to beat. Special.
What a grand duet collaboration. You have a beautiful smile.
George that voice through wow
George Michael had the voice of an angel. Gone to soon. R.I.P
Yes, Angela, this song gave me goosebumps, also.
Girl, that was live! Hard to believe but it was live.
I've been an Elton John fan since the mid 70's (age 10) and saw him on tour many times. Great on his own, but add a little GM and wow!!
George had a beautiful voice
I was there Angela it was brilliant another great reaction thank you again 😀
Arguably one of the greatest collabs of all time. Superstar and Legendary Icon! Masterpiece.
I can't light no more of your darkness. All my pictures seem to fade to black and white. I'm growing tired and time stands still before me. Frozen here on the ladder of my life. Too late to save myself from falling. I took a chance and changed your way of life. But you misread my meaning when I met you. Closed the door and left me blinded by the light. -Bernie Taupin
Bernie - such a brilliant lyricist.
Great version,and great harmonies!
Elton John is Rocket Man! You’re looking great, Angela! Love the hairstyle.
Two incredible vocalists/performers!
George Michael sings a song, Elton tells a story. Best duet ever!!
I love how the crowd goes ape shit when introduces John.
Fantastic duet. Both incredible talents creating music to remember.
Like your shirt, you are gonna love this.
In a time when 90% of the music is just garbage, there actually was a time not so very ago when artists like George Michael and Elton John made some of the best, most heartfelt music in history. Auto-tune and lip-sync were unheard of and not needed, because real voices and instruments ruled the day...Many of today's artists might be remembered for a decade or two....George's and Elton's music will be listened to as long as there are people still around to hear it...RIP George!
You should do "Knew you were waiting" by George Michaels and Aretha Franklin really good duet song.
Agreed
Yes!
100%
Heck yes!!
Aretha Franklin was born on 25th March like Elton.
Not many songs I remember when I heard them the first time.
This one (or better: this version) I do.
Was about to leave the house to catch my train home from a far and long work. It was in hurry and wanted to switch off the radio when "Mr. Elton John" was introduced. I could not believe what I heard, I could simply not switch off. Sure enough I missed the train that day - it was worth it.
To this day, like 30+ years later it sends shivvers down my spine...
One of the greatest performances in music history. Elton is a very good singer tho George is magnificent, one of my singers listening to music over 60 years.

Loosing GEORGE MICHAEL is like the SUN RAING DOWN THE REST OF IS, now running Free, painful 😣😖
The SUN WENT DOWN ON THE MUSIC WORLD 🌍
I can tell you that you just listened to one of the most prolific singers of all time. I remember seeing a concert in Seattle at the Paramount Theater in 1973 Elton John was the headliner and Chaka Kahn and The Beach Boys were the backups what a show, even back then Elton would share the stage because he brought both the backups to sing with him it was very good to say the least
Semper Fidelis
The Gunny
Elton didn't play the piano here -- it's his composition, though. I hope you've watched the video of the live performance by now. Never gets old for me.
Wait till you hear I KNEW YOU WERE WAITING with George and Aretha Franklin. George was only 24 when they did their duet. It's one of the greatest duets ever recorded -- no shitting.
There is a live video of this duet. Its absolutely incredible. I think you would really enjoy it.
Your smile is the best moment 💓 the original is a radio tune from the 70's, great performance from both guys
Elton John has an endless catalog. I would recommend "Philadelphia Freedom" and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart".
The video is a whole lot better !
There is a video of that performace available if you wish to see it live. By the way, Sir Elton John wrote that song many years before this duet.
Yes, but Bernie Taupin wrote all the lyrics to his songs. He’s often forgotten!
If you weren't watching the live version you should find it it's really awesome!
Oh it is the live version...
i feel the same as you, i always get goose bumps every time i hear this version. Two of the greatest voices of all time - i could listen and listen for hours. By the way, Elton wasn't the pianist that night. :-)
That’s right - I believe it was Cris Cameron - a long time member of George’s band.
I'm sure someone's said it before, but if you like George need to do his performance at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert of Somebody to Love.
Someone Saved My Life Tonight, Tiny Dancer, and Levon, are three more highly recommend songs from Elton John.
When he introduced Elton John, the crowd lost their damn minds!!!!!
Was fortunate to be able to see Sir Elton live in Concert back in 2011 his LIVE performances are UNMATCHED by any musical Performer I have ever seen . He goes NON stop for 3 to 4 Hours . Philadelphia Freedom is one you might want to check out by Sir Elton
I’ve been lucky enough to see both Elton and George live. Elton is brilliant but George was just phenomenal. Blew me away.
George Michael and Aretha Franklin - I Knew You Were Waiting
One of my favorite Elton John songs is Funeral for a Friend/ Love Lies Bleeding
Song of George Michael's redemption. The story behind this particular performance is amazing. And Pure Elton John in retrospect. George Michael was an amazing vocalist, and Elton John made sure everyone remembered the fact.
good look in the flannel
HI ANGELA! :) THIS IS ELTON'S SONG SO YOU KNOW AND IT COMES OFF OF HIS 74 MULTI PLATINUM ALBUM ( CARIBOU ) :)
George Michaels and Aretha Franklin "Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)."
That song will never get old. Ultimately, Elton's best duet because it stands the farthest test of time.
great tune
Check out
Elton John
Funeral for a friend/ Love lies bleeding
With all respect to George Michael who had an incredible voice, Elton John's own original version is still the best in my opinion.
There is a version on here of George at Live Aid in 1985 singing the song by himself and with Elton on piano.
im a headbanger , but is real, 2 killers in the spot
I wasn't a huge fan of Elton or George . There were song from each that I did actually like though. But when this popped up on MTV, it gave me a greater respect for both of them as performers. When George introduced Elton, it literally gave me goosebumps when I first saw it and have often watched it since. Simply a great rendition.
Elton John has a song called Indian Sunset that you and everyone else should hear 👂
You should really see this video it's powerful
Imagine you’re at a George Michael show, hey he’s good this is a great show oh wow he’s doing that Elton John cover wow he’s knocking it out the park and wait, who’s he introducing? 😳😳😳😳😳
bridge over troubled waters by disturbed, it will blow your mind.
I've just watched a reaction to Wham "where did your heart go" and I was thinking that you can check it out ... One of my all time favorite ballads...
Elton had hit after hit after hit.
What a beautiful moment in time for the gay community to be able to see two superstar gay men performing together.
Love them both. You should watch the official video One More Try by George
Love it♥️🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
Oh, hell to the yes, please do "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters"! 👼🌹💖🤩
After the sad death of Freddie I was hoping Queen would persuade Michael to step up. Unfortunately it never had the chance to happen.
video zerrrroooo
Gotta do the live version of this one.
You need to see some of Elton John live performances when he is tearing it up on the piano. That pretty much does it for me. Elton, Billy Joes, Bruce Hornsby, or even a guy next door with piano skills . . . I'm like 🤤🤩😳!
Same here! Billy Joel as well. I've seen Elton John and Billy Joel in concert and thought the piano would catch on fire with both. : ) Bruce Hornsby never saw in concert, unfortunately, but his songs just raise your vibration as well.
SO THIS IS IN LIKE 92 VERSUS THE ORIGINAL STUDIO 74 VERSION, YOU SHOULD TAKE THAT IN :)
Elton didn’t actually play the piano on this live version, it was Cris Cameron who worked with George for most of his career.
Amazing duet though nevertheless. Love it.
