That is one thing non ball players don’t realize, it is an extremely mind intensive game, your thoughts and beliefs have a big impact on how you perform.
“I need to stop thinking about what they can beat me with, I need to start thinking about what I can beat them with”. That’s a life motto within itself.
He's an All-star and celebrity in the United States. But when he returns to Perth, no one knows him. Our media needs to give this dude more recognition
I can't speak on Liam's behalf obviously, but do you not think that might be a blessing? He can return home and spend time with friends and loved ones without being constantly bothered.
Willis I agree with you. I don’t think I’d want to be recognized and swarmed whenever I go out while still being able to play in the MLB and perform well. But at the same time, like they say, “you can’t have your cake and eat it too.”
I’m a bit late but here in Australia, baseball is not a popular sport. Most people couldn’t name a single player. I play in Melbourne, our local u18 league has 5 teams. Australian football is on during the summer and nearly everyone will watch it. Schools have footy day and it’s rare for someone not to barrack for a team. People at my baseball club probably don’t know who Liam is.
Hendricks is the guy that works best when his back is against the wall and it’s all to play for. I don’t envy the stress that a career as a relief pitcher in the MLB must bring in terms of job security alone.
I think recognizing his future as a reliever instead of a starter is a path starting pitchers are hesitant to take, but it has been a path of success for many, and even resurgence. It might not be the journey you wanted, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the right way.
I loved him with the Blue Jays and was very sad to see him go, but I’m so happy that he got this new opportunity and made the most of it. Keep it up Liam!
This guy was my Teammate in 2008 with the Minnesota Twins. The 2008 GCL Twins in Ft. Myers Florida✅I use to eat At the same table as him. I’m happy to see him still playing in the League💯❤️
Living in the Bay Area is not always easy or nice, but we love our Oakland Athletics. It's gratifying to have a genuinely likable, hard-working everyday bloke like Liam on the A's.
Not going to lie, I hated on him last year, because his stuff wasn't all there. This year he tapped into something to make him special. Definitely deserves the praise and spotlight. What a great story! Wish him the best and Let's go Oakland!
Heck yeah I’ve seen all this guys pitching performances at angel stadium, it’s so awesome seeing him come up and how he came into his role. Thank you Liam Hendriks . 💚💛💚💛💚💛🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘

Hey Liam, another Aussie here I remember the game I watched of yours in 2012 at target Field twins Vs mariners you went toe to toe with the king Felix Hernandez you guys lost but man have you had a rollercoaster ride of a career but now it seems you have found something that's working for you, keep at it and hopefully we see another all star pick after all this Corona going on 😅😅🙏🙏💯💯
I’m gonna chase my dreams of becoming a Major League Baseball player I’m gonna strive & drive to do better and work towards my goals so I can earn it I’m gonna try to become the best pitcher to come out of my high school and all the people that doubted me will watch me succeed! Thank you momentum for your channel and inspiration! Keep it up!🔥❤️🙏🏼😊💪🏻
Trevor bauer and the road to becoming a yankee! Sounds like a nice ring to it...😅 What a lovely story. Thanks trevor. Liam is a good guy, keep proving you're an allstar!
Probably 4th. Ben Simmons is on about US $30 million a year and Daniel Ricciardo is on about $17 million. Ash Barty will probably earn more in 2021 but that depends how how much she wins.
@@chadjcrase I grew up as a Rangers fan, but was in awe of the great Canadiens teams of the late 70s, packed with legends like Lafleur, Gainey, Robinson, Dryden, and Cournoyer. Those teams were like All-Star teams in one unit.
Pinetar cheater and whatever else.you couldn't get signed in 2018 and then all the sudden your spin rate shot up like crazy, same time Trevor Bowers did.... Cheater. I wouldn't want you on my team. Trevor Bowers cool though.
You must not have played ball at a high level... Cuz every batter would rather a pitcher use stuff for grip and hit the strike zone, rather than have a mid 90s fastball slip out and hit the batter....
“If I think I’m terrible, I need to stop thinking”. Another solid quote a lot of ball players can relate to.
Agreed. @bhlademyst one of the many pearls of wisdom from Liam
That is one thing non ball players don’t realize, it is an extremely mind intensive game, your thoughts and beliefs have a big impact on how you perform.
How did I find you here? 😂👑
A lot of people just in life in general

Anotha one! Maybe Liam should become a part-time philosopher 🤔
@@WatchMomentum Philosophy only holds true in practice of discovery and demonstration.
i mean, alot of MLB allstars aren't that well known to people who don't watch baseball in the US as well.

100%. Such a shame he isn't given the acknowledgment from our media for being an elite athlete plying his trade overseas.
@@Verraad81 That's so true especially considering we aren't much good at any other sports these days.
Great feature. His blended accent is cracking me up. Seems like every other syllable- Aussie-Murican-Aussie-Murican-Aussie...
If you listen to Grant Balfour, it’s the same.
We Aussies seem to lose our accents very quickly overseas.
2020 he is now Reliever of the Year

Welcome to the White Sox lets get this Chip!
This hurt my heart as an a's fan but I won't get mad if he gets a ring that he deserves with a different team
Is essential for a pitcher to have an ego, lots of confidence and a winner mentality. This guy has them all

So inspirational I feel like an underdog myself but giving up isn’t an option, work harder and keep moving forward.
You better believe it. Keep your head down and keep grinding

i picked him up in fantasy a couple months ago and he's carrying my save category
Could you say he has "saved" your fantasy season? ha....ha...ha...

Same here, he got me some championships too. I picked him in the 4th round this year 2021. I may have paid too much but I love Liam.

Great pitcher, even better guy 👊
This man is now the closer of my favorite team 🙌🏻 SOUTHSIDE

After how he pitched tonight against the Astros, he is a proven all-star. Proud to see him in the green 'n' gold!

This is fantastic. You guys rock!
Led the AL in saves in 2021…I’d say the dude is just getting started at age 33.
He’s my best pitcher in MLB 9 Innings with 47 pitches and counting, also multi-time monthly mvp
He’s definitely a goat in that game
And now hes on my White Sox with a big fat contract and elite closer💪
What a beast. Great video guys!
Thank you so much! Great story for all @Frankie Martinez
loved this
Thanks! Liam has one heck of a story
Go Liam! He seems like a real stand up guy. Go A's!

What a great australian and amazing pitcher 💚 go dodgers
2020 AL Reliever of the Yeark. Fuck Yes Liam!!
I’m disappointed that they didn’t ask him about that weird pitch during the All Star game 😂 I loved it
2015 Liam was sick for the Jay's. Wish we kept him.

Yup

It's weird, I'm Australian and I can't fathom it at all.

Any high-school baseball player out there should begin learning Japanese, since it is a possible career path if you don't make the US pro league.
