Terry, the Milwaukee train depicts (inaccurately) the Olympian Hiawatha that ran from the Twin Cities to Seattle. The locomotive, because of its orange and black livery, is an EF-4 "Little Joe" electric. The "F" in "EF" delineates "freight". The Olympian Hiawatha was pulled by passenger versions of the Little Joe, the EP-5s, which were painted in the maroon and orange scheme of the car sets, and were also distinguished from the freight variants by installation of steam generation plants for car heating and air conditioning.
The trains were pulled by electric locos from Harlowton, Montana to Seattle, Washington on the Milwaukee's 660 miles of electrified trackage, with an unelectrified gap between Avery, Idaho through Spokane to Othello, Washington where electrification was never completed due to one of the road's many financial crises. Motive power across the Gap was usually provided by the Milwaukee's small fleet of gorgeous oil burning Class-S Northerns (the gleaming glossy black 261 is still in occasional railfan service). The Northerns were gradually nudged from Gap service by diesel power.
The other inaccuracy in the videoed Hiawatha is the inclusion of two "Great Dome" cars in its consist. The train never ran with more than one dome car.

Hey Terry great video! There are a few others floating around of this great layout. I have been waiting on Don Smith to do a layout tour but he doesn't seem to post much on here. You're a B&O guy so maybe...

I believe that the E7s are from Sunset/3rd Rail. I have an 'AA' pair myself. They have dual mode decoders, so they are producing sound on DC. I believe that most of the passenger cars are Golden Gate Depot, except the two immediately following the dome car. These two cars gray band does not match the others; looks more like cream.
