- In this video, I'll be discussing the possibility of any LEGO Minecraft Movie sets, based on the abhorrent trailer that our eyes were recently subjected to. I discuss themes such as LEGO Super Mario and LEGO Sonic, to see what kind of sets we might see, and the possibility of these actually being made, considering LEGO Minecraft is an evergreen theme at this point.

That’s just what we have seen online though and often it’s really popular to hate on new things or more to find things to hate in new things. Either way I expect we will see something for the movie.

Your point about evergreen themes is probably why the only Disney Star Wars stuff we’ve seen remade is from The Mandalorian. The sets (especially for Rogue One and Solo) stopped selling after the hype for their respective films fell off after release. LEGO seems to realize this which is why they make more sets for shows starring iconic characters who have proven they’ll always sell (Kenobi, Ahsoka) than ones that haven’t (Andor, The Acolyte). Andor was successful during Season 1 so hopefully that changes, but Season 2 is also the last one so it might not.

It’s kind of funny that they made absolutely zero sets for the Acolyte. Either they could tell it was going to be a complete failure from the beginning or they at least figured it would be enough of a mixed reception that it was better to wait until after it’s release before committing to making any sets of it. And it’s a good thing they decided to wait because probably almost no one would have bought any of them.
With how the movie is being received by fans and general public, imma say there's definetly not going to be sets for this movie
LOL! I cracked up when you mentioned Chris Pratt would have made a better Steve than Jack Black. I don't play Minecraft, but just from the design alone, I completely understand what you mean. I know people criticized Chris Pratt as Mario and Garfield, but I never minded him in those roles, in fact, his Mario kind of reminds me of how Captain Lou Albano voiced the character in the Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
Legit hahaha, seems as though Pratt and Black have to be in every videogame adaptation, so I think Pratt would've been better suited here hahaha

Funny name dropping minecraft legends, as the movie is actually based of it instead of the main game
it's not based off of it, only certain things are. not the entire movie. the minecraft movie is its own universe. it's going to use things from both spin offs, i doubt story mode.

They should have just called the movie Minecraft Legends or something like that. Because calling it “The Minecraft Movie” is a horrible choice, especially when the movie doesn’t really encapsulate all of what Minecraft is. The movie seems to be very focused on fighting piglins, which is only a very small part of what Minecraft is. The majority of Minecraft players have still never been to the nether, that’s just not what draws people to the game, so making the whole movie revolve around that is a terrible idea unless you’re basing it more off of a game like Minecraft Legends where fighting piglins in the overworld is the whole point of the game.
@@lukestarkiller1470 it's based off of multiple minecraft games. and it's not supposed to be the exact story of minecraft itself. if you watched mc live, they said every player has their version of steve and their version of minecraft and their own story. this movie is jack blacks version of steve and their own story/world. its most likely not even canon to the main game. it's most likely its separate universe. mojangs version of steve is the one from the start. the one from the trailers. this movie has jack black as their steve. it's taking notes from all spin offs probably besides story mode. people are saying it's based off legends only bc of 3 things that has shown so far. i can see some inspiration from dungeons especially in the set/props they've shown. and obviously legends.

I don't see the Ender Dragon appearing in this movie, it seems to draw plot from Minecraft Legends, and it wont mix dimension themes in the same movie, it will focus solely on the Nether, and leave scope for an End topic in a potential second or third movie. The plot would likely be about stopping rogue Nether portals allowing Piglin's from getting into the overworld, and them blocking them off defeating something to seal off or bring peace to that dimension.
LEGO will only make sets about the movies if they have the licence, they can't just start making LEGO about the Minecraft movie without the studios, directors and shareholders all agreeing money. It's likely they'll just carry on their typical Minecraft set rotations and reap the increased interest of the movie without partnering with it. If they do decide to partner up and create official movie sets, then it may just be one or 2, but since they're doing well with their current licence of it, I doubt they'd have scoped in any movie tie-in sets.
If they did I wonder if they would keep the figures blocky or normal and then keep the rest of the sets blocky

Honestly, I don't mind Jack Black being Steve.
LEGO only focuses on the video game LEGO wouldn’t focus on Minecraft the movie Minecraft the movie is terrible there aren’t humans in Minecraft there are only blocky characters Steve shouldn’t be a 50 year old guy he should be a blocky character
I have a theory that the movie is to do with minecraft legends and not actual minecraft
LEGO is probably going to play it "safe": they are probably releasing something that is playable under the MINECRAFT name about the same time the movie is released. This way they can get all the benefits if the movie is popular and have basically no drawbacks if the movie goes bad. LEGO makes toys and as long as people like to play with them, the success of a movie is potentially free advertisement.
Randomly came across this video, realized that I have the set worth over $2,000 sealed (LEGO Minecraft mountain cave), mildly annoyed that I didn’t keep it sealed 😅
I think what could save the movie is adding something like The Wither Storm or something. I think that would be actually really cool. Or the Warden 🤔

Here’s my take on this.
When their favorite game all of a sudden went haywire. 4 friends are teleported into the game and took the form of their avatars the film could start as live-action and for the second & third act it’s animated.
What do all think of this?

Think of the avengers endgame sets and black panther those sets did awful. Just because a movie is popular doesn’t mean sets off of certain scenes means it will do good. Kids don’t necessarily care about scenes. A general set then just branded Minecraft movie will probably be what they end up making
With Minecraft live info, we now know the double bucket was a mistake. And it’s called “A” Minecraft movie since calling it “the” would mean nothing else is canon, when Minecraft has NO canon
Minecraft movie will probably not have an ender dragon, it seems to be more into the Nether and there is no scenes of them in the end.
Not yet atleast. It's possible they will introduce the End in some later teasers or something 😅
@@xtoxicxxkitten8875 It has the Piglin Mage or something, which is the final boss of Minecraft Legends, I think. Which makes me believe that there is no ender dragon, maybe it will be as a teaser at the end of the movie after the credits.
Lego Minecraft has been since 2014, that's also when I was hyped to Minecraft ever since I first saw animated videos (by now-banned UA-camr FuturisticHub) featuring characters like SpongeBob, Angry Birds, and FNAF that also got me so hooked to the game 10 years ago, good times 😊
Lego will just be happy that they won't have to make an updated zombie pigman minifigure 💀

There will be no ender dragon. The themes of the movie (Piglins in the overworld and being the main villains) are based on Minecraft Legends. There are incorrect things within the movie because its the minecraft concept, not the game logic.
Disregarding the movie based on two minutes of footage because it is not "respectful" of the game logic is not logical in itself.
If they made a set with live action Steve in it they would probably also have to also change the print designs of the animals and monsters and everything else to fit the live action style. But if they did that it would mean that set wouldn’t be as “compatible” with other Lego Minecraft sets. So it would make more sense to just make sets for the movie using the existing Lego Minecraft art style and figures. But at that point why even make it themed around the movie at all? Especially when it has the chance to be a total flop.
The fact that we haven’t heard of any sets for the movie being in production means they probably aren’t already working on any, and after the reactions to the trailer they’re definitely not going to commit to making any.
We've had wierd liscenced sets before, the tmnt cgi cartoon had a line, then the micheal bay tmnt movies had sets, so hopefully it wont take over the main minecraft line but just be a few sets.
Here's free advice for Lego and Minecraft, avoid making sets for the movie abomination!

I think the film will do well...we have seen a 1 minute teaser. People are too quick to judge but i think its too early to predict sets though. They wont make sets about a teaser
