Thanks for mentioning the refill in the tube. Like the old mechanical pencils.

We got that chassis in on a trade, we never had a chance to look at it. Glad you got it going.

Thanks for making this video. I know the audience for this type of material is low, but man, for those of us that need it we can't thank you enough!!
I'm inexperienced electronically in the real world, although I have an electronics education background. I'm working on a Gunsmoke (Romstar/Capcom). I have what appears to be
a functioning game with a dead display. F901, the 1.25 amp fuse is blown. In your video you said the fly-back is usually bad if that fuse is bad. (I have no idea what that component is)
Any way to check this part with a meter and do you know of a source for that component?
I did check the other stuff you mentioned in your video. I have no means to bench test the G07.
Oh, last question. If this is a thing. Have you ever seen fuses blow from just metal fatigue?
    Thanks again!!

Happy to help! I would replace the fuse first and if it blows again, then I would replace the flyback. You can get everything here…

Yes, I’ve seen fuses fail and the chassis works after replacing it with nothing being wrong, but it’s very rare.

These videos are great. I have a low B+ at about 115 with pot at max. I’ve changed the VR but when I do the diode test you show I get .29 instead of .18 on the brown/white wire leg of the VR. Am getting this on both VRs when in place. Thoughts on why that might be?

Mike, I have watched a bunch of your videos and have learned quite a bit. However, I'm still learning. I have 2 k7000 chassis that need help. How can I get these to you to have you look into?

      What’s the issue with them?

@MikesArcadeMonitorRepair they both have vertical collapse. One is the original from Simpsons 4p, and I bought the other online to replace it. I replaced one resistor from the newer board because it was smoking. It's hard to believe both have this problem. Bought the machine, and it worked fine for a few months. It hasn't run in over a year now. It's time to get this fixed

What happens if the B+ voltage is too high? I have a K4675 with the B+ is 131 and I think it is supposed to be 127. The pot is coated in stuff to prevent it moving, so I really don’t want to. 😮

The monitor will go into shutdown if the B+ is TOO high. It’s not adjustable on the 4600 I thought. Always thought the pot there by the regulator was for the shutdown, but I could be wrong. I don’t know everything. If it’s too high and not adjustable like on a K7000, the regulator is failing or the chassis needs to be capped.

Thanks, I think I’ll leave well enough alone. The monitor seems to be good, although I think it could use a cap kit after 40 something years 😂 👍
