Thanks for the great travel tips. Investing in either the stock market or Real Estate is a great plan. In our case it was the stock market. We don’t have to worry about being a landlord and still having to work monitoring tenants and maintenance especially while travelling. We would never travel anywhere without health insurance. Cost my brother $150,000 US for an air ambulance back to Canada from Africa. They had coverage but only to the nearest hospital and not back to Canada. Insurance companies like politicians and lawyers are organized crime. Stay safe and have a great time.
Hey Paul! Thanks for getting in touch, agree on the position regarding the stock market. With regard to traveling without insurance, what we wanted to do there is just make people stop and think. We made a video about a health situation in Athens a little while ago and in the situation of being a UK national in Greece, that is once situation where insurance is not so clear cut. So we wanted to just make it clear that every decision that is ever made should be done with research when it comes to travel. Hope that helps. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
I would love for you to make a video about keeping your house and renting it out versus selling it and investing that money. You guys are an inspiration. I hope to do what you're doing in a few years. I love the humor of your videos.
Hey Holly! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! We are working on it, but it is a long game.... we are focusing 2 hours a week on that specific video at the moment as we want to really do it justice. It should be out in around 6 weeks. Thank you so much, we want to get more of our humor into videos as we have been a bit too serious on video recently! Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Great video - love the topics you are covering. And yes, I would be interested to hear about the rental vs stock debate 😂 I am part of a small retired early group and about 50% of us got here through real estate and the rest through stocks. Invariably each camp wants to pull the other to their side 😜
Hey Fiona! Then I will start working on that video... It'll be a few weeks because we need to research heavily. We sit squarely in the middle of the debate and just do our own thing. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
One of the VERY BEST travel videos I have ever seen (and it's A LOT) on UA-cam. Super great couple with amazing chemistry and just the right amount of playful sass!
Great information. You might think about Peru for visiting in the future. So many beautiful places to visit from Snow Peak as Cordillera Blanca and/or Huayhuash to astonishing Lakes as Paron or Laguna 69 . . . Abundance of cheap food + innumerable amount of fresh fruits and vegetables, the main arqueological spots in South America with the oldest city as Caral , mud cities as chanchan , Lord of Sipan, Lady of Cao, Huaca del Sol y La Luna , Kuelap , Karajia, Chavin de Huantar + amazing lake as TitiCaca . .
Hey Carlos! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! You know we were going to be in Peru after we left Mexico but personal stuff made us change that, so it is high on our list of places to go. As you say, a lot of amazing things to see there. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Hello Neil & Sarah. Thanks for your kind and warm response. Peru is probably the hidden gem for retiring too. Some places could be interested for living as some districts in Lima as Magdalena del Mar, Jesus Maria, San Miguel, San Borja, Surco, La Molina, Pachacamac, Cieneguilla, etc. ( or the upscale Miraflores , San Isidro or Barranco ) Also some beach towns as Ancon, San Bartolo, Cerro Azul, etc. Not including Arequipa ( lower metes to Cuenca in altitude with nice climate all year around ) and Trujillo / PIura / Chiclayo in the coastal areas
Ooooh yes please Neil and Sarah. We would love to listen to your take on that. We sold our home in Canada last fall and since then prices increased and now have started to fall quickly. We have one of the most overheated real estate markets in the world and timing is important -stocks as well! We bought our first home in 1989 and sold it for less than we paid for it in 1992 (interest rates were 14% and we were 22)so you live and learn. Cheers :)
Hey Jessie! Thanks for getting in touch, so reading your comment, we think you will find our Real Estate vs Stocks video really interesting. We are putting a lot of work into that one. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Love your videos! I need to go back to the start but there are so many interesting videos i just watch randomly. I remember when i got to Laos, i had no more malaria tablets...got them in the local chemist for next to nothing. I brought some from Ireland...they cost a hell of a lot more. I DID have my jabs in advance and they were expensive. Just goes to show, don't be a worrier, you will always find what you need and when you need it
Yes-interested in real estate versus stock investments (particularly the opportunity costs associated with keeping your money locked up in your home even while you are leasing it out). Love your videos!
You weren't crazy to sell your house! My wife and I have both been remote landlords with property in different foreign countries - even if you pay to have quality professional property management it can really be painful.
Hey Doug! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! Really appreciate you stepping in here... that was our concern. At the moment we are 6 hours away on the world clock, we don't want to get property managers ringing us in the middle of the night ruining our beauty sleep. You can see how much we need that beauty sleep :-) Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Ok. I’ll ask you to expand on real estate v stock market. Of course, it matters where you live. I have also rented my home out in the past. Pretty good renters. But we’re still a pain in the area. Not keen to do that again. Oh. Your stories have helped tip the scale for me. I am planning on leaving my 35 year career in health care to live my intentional life. I very leg enjoy my profession. But realize my years are numbered. Time for me to make the move. With much thought, and inspiration from others and yourselves, I am taking the plunge at 60. I am all ears for whatever you have to say. As I live in the USA, health care is a real issue. Think I’ve got it sorted for the oncoming years. Thanks much.
Great video! You guys are inspiring! My wife and I recently retired and we sold our rental property and our home to fund our retirement, just like you did. We would definitely love to hear more about the subject of real estate and stock market investments. Another item on the worst nightmare on the road in our heads, is to have our phones, SIM card, accounts, etc hacked. We would love to hear how you are protecting yourselves against scammers. Keep the good material coming!!
Hey Ruben! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! Lots of people are saying the same so the planning is underway, it will take some time to research, watch this space. Being hacked is a nightmare, too right. Only thing we can say at the moment is that we take nothing at all for granted. But again, we must make a video on this soon for sure. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Enjoyed the video, people telling you you are stupid....are jealous!! Let them sit with🤢🤢. I am jealous too, but my reason is that I don't have the guts for early retirement. I will travel with you guys on my phone and enjoy every second of it. Enjoy and take care.
Hi guys,I’ve just subscribed to your channel and OMG,there is so much excellent information for the would be traveller. Having been on the inside of the Insurance world you can speak with authority of the possible scenarios that can emerge in a foreign country and if that happens, the nightmare begins. Thank you for sharing your experiences and advice.
This is SUCH GOOD ADVICE! We are good travelers for some of these points, but for others (like insurance) we really need to do better. Thanks for such a thorough and useful video! Cheers! Dara
Hey Magenta! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! We have been checking out your UK content and it is making us homesick! lol Best regards, Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam I don’t wanna rub it in, because I’ve seen your photos of the turquoise coast and they were absolutely stunning! But honestly, this has been a pretty fun weekend to be in Britain! ❤️🇬🇧 Cheers, Dara (and Ian)
Me and the Wife have this to a fine art now the last holiday we had we stayed in 3 different hotels each night different small suitcase for each night pre packed passport copy's already done for the hotels, Vaccine copy also for each hotel preparation and planning it becomes normal very soon. Rainy season now Enjoy well done to you both.
Hey Retired! Thanks for getting in touch, you are black belt in this stuff, very cool and you can teach us a thing or two we are sure! Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Another great video Neil & Sarah, thank you! Yes I’d love to see a video on comparing rental income to shares. We are planning on living off the rental income of our 2 houses here in Sydney Australia to fund our travels, one of which is our principal house which our son and DIL will move in to and rent from us at a reduced rental rate. We will be able to go home at least every 6 months to visit doctors, dentists, see family etc for 2 weeks at a time and stay in our home with them so will work well. Also we can store our things there which we don’t want to get rid of. Hopefully both properties will increase in value while we are travelling also.
Hey Annette! Thanks for getting in touch, ok... we are starting planning that one now, will be in a few weeks though. Should be an interesting video to plan as Sarah and I are totally on the fence. We read this and think... "Annette is doing 100% the right thing." Now we sold our house, so was that 100% the wrong thing? No... and that means there is a lot to get into there. Working on it Annette :-) Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Enjoying your vlogs guys its really interesting what you have to say about retirement as my wife and I retired at 53 two years ago our plans where lock up the house and travel but with the pandemic and other ties it’s been a slow start to our travels but hopefully 🙏 we have time on our side😎 your right about property it has a cost even if your not there then there’s the security maintenance and you can go on and on keep them vlogs coming it’s interesting watching your travels life’s for living guys 😎👍
Hey Martin! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! You and us think the same way, there are many ways to make money and in our view, traveling and leaving a property thousands of miles away will in the first instance leave us with headaches. We are looking forward to making that video for sure. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
yep, video on stock investing vs. running a mini real estate business as a part time job please. see how subtly gave you one of the points to be made in that video?
Hey Lee! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! We are working on it, but it is the most complex video we have made... currently setting aside 2 hours a week to work on it. Should be released in around 6 weeks. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
9 to 18 months from our journey start date. Thank you for the information. We are trying to get everything in order and some of these points are spot on and helpful. I'm 51 this year and she is 46. Scary but exciting. 😎
Hey Larry! Really appreciate the comment, scary and exciting can be interchangable when you realise that really... what is the worst that could happen. When you start to investigate that, you will find that it becomes more exciting and the fear disipates. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Hey Marquita! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! That is super cool for you to say... we struggle making the videos at times but what you see on camera is us and we are pleased you like our dynamic. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Great videos. We just started watching your channel a few weeks ago and have just caught up. Hadn't realised you are now in Thailand. Got a bit of a shock when we saw the Astra, we live here too! I am a UK teacher living with my Malaysian partner since moving here last August from Malaysia. Planning on heading out to Mexico at some point and really enjoyed your videos from there. Keep up the good work. Let us know if you fancy meeting up for a beer!
Hey Peter! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! Absolutely we should meet for a beer! We would love that! Can you do us a favour and drop an email to neil@2goroam.com to take it offline from our comments and we will set something up :-) Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Thanks Neil & Sarah, this vid is so packed with gems 💎 for travel and you make it so entertaining. You have it so organised and I know it's through intention research plus 2 years of experience.
@@2GoRoam no rush! I understand things take time. I spent two entire years doing my British bathroom video! I’m glad to have finally published it, because now I can stop having to take photos and video every time I go to the loo! 😂
So much information in your videos!! Could please do one about how you make sure your electronic transactions are safe? Do you use a VPN? If so, which one, how much does it cost? Looking forward to your next video 😃
Part of my weekly plan is to watch your next video and this one was excellent. In fact I have two sisters that travel, so will be sharing this link with them! They will appreciate your guidance too! Thanks you! Sorry about the rain. I was in Chang Mai in early November a few years back and the weather was good.
Hey Grordon! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment as ever. The rain seems to be clearing up, there have been a lot of floods right across town in the last week but things are improving. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Yay! It's another Sarah & Neil video day! Cheers to living life with intention. Love the thumbnail and took notes with your great advice. I thought of you both this week when I saw Thailand is the #1 Tourist destination. Enjoy! I know you will.
Hey Kimberly! Thanks for getting in touch as ever. Like that you are picking up on the 'intention' word, we are using it more and more and the fact that it appears in the videos is.... intentional :-) We hope you are well! Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Thank you for the video. Please do a video compairing shares to property investing. Would be great to hear your views on this point. Dan from Australia
Hey Dan! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! You will see we are making a lot of videos on finance at the moment, rest assured that video is coming, we are building a series over the next 3 months. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Awesome video. I wasn’t able to find out where the second video. I’d appreciate a link for it. Yes, I took notes as you recommended. Stay well you two❤️
Just a new subscriber and I love your videos. I love that we get a tour of the places you are visiting and a bit of information. Love your sence of humour! Can you tell us what you are using to record your videos...cell phone, Gopro, camera? I love travel and documenting my travels but I don't want to bring all kinds of cumbersome equipment. Thank you and keep the wonderful videos coming!!!😁
Hi both. Brilliant advice as always. Im currently in the early stages of planning a trip to Thailand hopefully end of November, early December this year so looking forward to your next videos. Just hope that rain stops😂. Take care.xx
Hey Ange! Thanks for getting in touch as ever. Haha we are here right in the middle of rainy season. Ere... will you do me a favour, can you drop me an email offline to neil@2goroam.com. I want to discuss your Thailand plans! Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Warren Buffet never invested in Realestate except for RITS. Also, it depends on how quick you need a return on your investment. It is a pain to manage realestate from abroad so you will need to include the 10% to 15% property management fee. Also, expect to pay 3 times the amount for labor when your property manager has to call someone to fix something or do a turn over once the tenants move out. This needs to be put in the ROI. You also don't feel retired when you are worried about your rentals. Both are great investments but with the Sock market either but it in the S&P 500 like warren buffet suggest and let it ride or hire a manager who will take 1% to 2%. Now is the time to invest in the stock market at all time lows, however, those that did not pull out during he crash will have to wait 5 to 8 years to get back to levels before the crash - if that is even possible.
I have just started watching your first videos on Fire etc, hopefully I'll eventually catch you up with your latest! I was backpacker through Europe in the early 80s, I am almost there with fire and enjoy travelling like your good selves. However, I would be interested in your property versus stock market analysis. My plan was to downsize my property and rent out, thus using the rental income to fund the travel. Bit of a cloud on the horizon is the prospect of a property correction next year being forecast in the UK, some analysts are predicting this due to inflation and interest rates rising.
Great vlog guys. Some great info there. It definitely helps us with the process of leaving Australia for the UK and Europe. Cheers and keep up the great work. PS. Grab a brolly....
Hey Shaz & Daz! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! I (Neil) have never had a brolly and no matter the weather, would never... I am weird like that. Sarah is the opposite. Something we like seeing here is people riding scooters while holding a brolly! Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Hi Neil & Sarah, Great video and Information. My wife and I are set to do a very similar thing and are travelling to Thailand at the end of August. I was hoping that you would be able to provide more details on the sim cards that you purchased.( which provider, where you purchased it & package name etc). I would really appreciate thif you could provide this info. Thanks
I really enjoy your videos, good list’s of things to make travel easier and less complicated. With 10 years of travel have you thought of county’s you might want to spend more time in? Say two or three months. Keep up the good work 😊 peace and love
Hey Michael! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment as ever! Well this is the plan of the 10 years really to research each place we visit. At the moment, Thailand, Turkey and Mexico are all places we love so are at the top of our list. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
I’m a recent subscriber to your channel, am thinking about early retirement in 2-3 years and spending lengthy periods in Asia probably Malaysia. One thing on this video you had a caption about mobile phones that stated $31 per month for 2 phones for 3 months which equates to $5 per phone per month. I assume the $31 was for three months.
Another great informative vlog. Some great tips as I’m heading O/S (but only for a month). I would love to hear your thoughts on real estate -v- stock market investments. Hopefully you’ll get some sunshine soon , at least it’s not cold. Enjoy Chiang Mai 😍 🦘
The Big thing is to look at the "EXCLUSION PAGE". You will find out that most insurances don't cover what is really needed. Also, these travel insurance have a "CLAUSE" that you have to wait one month after your effective date to file a claim. READ IT - All Insurances are not created equal! One last thing. Make sure you understand the terminology - if it is not clear then you need to ask the agent or give them a specific question and have the respond. Most travel insurance in Thailand is a joke.
Hey Traveler! Thanks for getting in touch, we are finding that at the moment. Talking to an agency about insurance and it appears that we are talking about 2 different things, they want to offer us something so that we can say to authorities that we are insured, but we want insurance to actually provide some coverage if the worst should happen. Funny old world eh. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Great info! My wife and I are looking at doing the same thing in two years max so your videos are relevant and helpful to us. Curious...Have you had an experiences/issues with showing proof of onward travel when entering a country and, if so, how did you handle it? Thanks!!
Hey Stephen! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! Yes that is something that needs to be thought through, not wanting to recommend but we have always found onwardticket.com very interesting and works well. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
INSURANCE: I have lived in Kazakhstan, China 6 years, Thailand 7 years without medical or travel insurance. It's a waste of money. It's always better to have cash, than a vague promise that a corporate giant might, if you're luck, cover some of your costs. I have too much working experience with all UK insurers, banks and Building Societies. Best wishes from Bangkok.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! Loved the information and humour. Interested in both forms of investment especially with access to funds in another country after retirement. Also, what are your thoughts on the looming recession everyone is talking about recently? Thanks for the excellent content.
Hey Colin! Really appreciate the comment, our view is that we are always on a cycle and that the biggest mistake anyone can make is to try to read the future or to change their strategy. We rarely look at the numbers as it isn't helpful, that isn't putting our head in the sand, it is actually a wise thing we learnt from JL Collins. Hope that helps. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Weird question for you: when you pass the customs of a new country and they ask for your profession... do you say you are retired or you name your 'previous' profession?
Hey Isabelle! Very good question. It felt weird initially to say "Retired" but that is what we have reverted to now.... All good 😃 Best wishes Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam I would think retired is the safest answer since if language causes confusion and they think you’re working, that might bring up all sorts of stinky messes. 😉 Your only danger is looking too young for it!
Was thinking of RENTING our home out to keep the value as it rises and then sell later on when value gets higher....OR sell outright take the cash and invest it.....would love to hear your thoughts on both of those scenerios and if you WISH you rented your home out instead.....we live in Mass USA in a pretty desirable location.....
Hey J! Really appreciate the comment, watch this space. We are working on that video at the moment but it is a significant amount of work... will probably be a few weeks before it sees the light of day. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Great content and hope to meet you 1 day once I am also doing the same. Do you also know if an annual travel insurance policy would be ok for this lifestyle because I've seen a price for £52 and looks a lot cheaper than your company. Also would love a video on your monthly expenses compared to Turkey.
Hey Billy! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! We mentioned in last Saturday's video what our phases of retirement are planned out to be. Hope that clarifies, if not, ping us :-) Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Great video guys and some things for us to think about, esp whether to take out health insurance or not during slow travel 😀. Yes would be great to hear more of your thoughts on the debate about real estate vs stocks to fund your retirement. I suppose buy to let real estate investing gives you a predictable income with rent each month, whereas stock market can be a lot more volatile like it is now. Pulling 3 or 4% from a pot of money when investments are tanking takes a lot of courage, or does it..? Would be interested to hear your thoughts 👍
Hey Ian! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! There is a lot to get into with that debate eh... Sarah and I are working on that video at the moment and it is likely to be epic so will take some time to complete, watch this space. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam Hi Neil, thanks to you and Sarah for working on the video. I suppose it boils down to buy-to-let investment with predictable 4%-to-5% ROI after expenses plus capital growth (which is what we get on ours) vs Investment Funds & ETFs with average 8-9% ROI over the long term but high volatility in the short term, esp at the moment with stocks tanking and a bear market upon us. Takes some guts taking flexi 4% rule in bear market times when your investment is 10%-20% down and inflation approaching double digits. All the best, Ian
Would love to hear your thoughts on Rental investments vs. Stock market. I bought the book you recommended Simple path to Wealth by JL Collins. I’m not as simplified as he recommends but I do believe in simple index funds and bonds funds. He seems to be a bit more risk tolerant than I am especially since retirement but to each their own when it comes to allocations of investments.
Hey Dina! Really appreciate the comment as ever. I think that starting any financial education with A Simple Path to Wealth is a great way to start and I am sure that JL Collins himself would say that once you have read it, apply what works for you, pick and choose to tailor it. Sounds like you are doing just that. Good work. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Hi Neil and Sarah, yes, another awesome video although you are stuck with rain Chang Mai is beautiful no matter what the season - and the humidity gives you both a natural glow.....I had to laugh re google maps back 33 years ago I did global travel with a map, the lonely planet book and poste restante I would not change it for the world although we have moved on well and truly... I would be interested in hearing your views on real estate vs investments - I have currently both but once I move to Mexico I am still debating if I sell the house and live of the investment capital or I keep the house incase I at some point return to NZ ... Enjoy your week and look forward to the next instalment x
I don’t understand the problem urgency you have with SIM cards. Here in the USA my phone company/plan has an International plan attached. For a nominal fee I can use my phone in any other country using my home plan. I have no need to scurry about frantically looking for a SIM card.
Hey Darrell, That sounds really cool, do you have details of the plan we can share with our US viewers? We all generally find that when you spend over 3 or 6 months outside your home country at a time the plans are then withdrawn. Best wishes Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam you are probably exactly right. I’m use to 2 or 3 week vacations. Not months and months. But I’ve wondered when people talk of SIM cards, we use iPhones and the SIM cards are not even accessible. So I wonder what we’d do. Can’t do without our iPhones. Apple products all the way! :-)
Useful video, definitely reminded me I need to update my digital wallet (digital copy of everything in my wallet). As someone who’s made money both in the stock market and via real estate, I’m definitely curious about which is the better long term investment. It’s funny how people can’t quite get their head around the concept of your investments producing an income that can be used to service your lifestyle now, without actually having no investments or income when you reach classic retirement age. Are you topping up your UK pensions abroad, as I am, to make sure you lock in those years? I still need to pay for 16 years before I get the full state pension, whatever that might be when I eventually get there. Final thought, based on your little end coda. Have you thought about doing a channel trailer? A number of channels have these, which condenses the essence of the channel down into a very short little video trailer. Very jealous that you’re in Thailand, stay dry!!
Hey Owen! We made sure we completed paying into the National Insurance scheme before we headed out onto the road. We didn't work a day longer than we needed to. Bank on the full state pension being enough to buy a round of drinks by the time we all get there :-) Thanks as ever/ Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Hey Carolina! Thanks for getting in touch, can't agree enough. We would love to do a tour of schools and talk about money but I think we would be seen as a little too controversial which is comedy in itself. Best regards, Neil & Sarah
Great video. Love 💘💘💘💘💘 Love your channel. 😘 Please move to a safer and less expensive country, if you are on a pension, and can work online from anywhere. Are you crazy to do this? Yes! Crazily brilliant! Love your continued wonderful humour too.
Yes-interested in real estate versus stock investments (particularly the opportunity costs associated with keeping your money locked up in your home even while you are leasing it out). Love your videos!
Welcome to the rainy season 😂 Great actionable advice as always, glad you enjoyed the lake - for a while at least!
Love you guys! Your videos keep getting better and better👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You can see how much we need that beauty sleep :-)

Neil & Sarah
Best regards,
Neil & Sarah
We have been checking out your UK content and it is making us homesick! lol

@@2GoRoam I don’t wanna rub it in, because I’ve seen your photos of the turquoise coast and they were absolutely stunning! But honestly, this has been a pretty fun weekend to be in Britain! ❤️🇬🇧 Cheers, Dara (and Ian)
Ps, we recently got an agent to manage property, it’s a game changer. Best decision and worth every cent.

Working on it Annette :-)
Best regards,
Neil & Sarah
Yes rental versus stocks always a good topic x
Hey Samantha!
Appreciate you getting in touch. We're working on it :-)

We are looking forward to making that video for sure.

yep, video on stock investing vs. running a mini real estate business as a part time job please. see how subtly gave you one of the points to be made in that video?
Hey Lee!
Thank you so much for taking the time to drop us a comment! We are working on it, but it is the most complex video we have made... currently setting aside 2 hours a week to work on it. Should be released in around 6 weeks.

Excellent video, very interested on your thoughts about whether to sell or not to sell your home.
Great content of course but WOW almost 10k subscribers!!! Congratulations🍻
Enjoyed your video! Can’t wait for your next one!

Yes, you are correct. very affordable.
Best regards,
Neil & Sarah
Where do I find the second part of this video ?
Your videos are really good, lot's of good information and you guys are great on camera. So, why all the CLICK BAIT titles? You're better than that.
Great info! My wife and I are looking at doing the same thing in two years max so your videos are relevant and helpful to us.
Curious...Have you had an experiences/issues with showing proof of onward travel when entering a country and, if so, how did you handle it? Thanks!!

I agree, way too short !
INSURANCE:
I have lived in Kazakhstan, China 6 years, Thailand 7 years without medical or travel insurance. It's a waste of money. It's always better to have cash, than a vague promise that a corporate giant might, if you're luck, cover some of your costs.
I have too much working experience with all UK insurers, banks and Building Societies. Best wishes from Bangkok.
FYI- the Online Security link you provided it broken....
I was thinking the same why would you not use your rent money definitely would like to know your views on that
Thoroughly enjoyed this video!
Best regards,
Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam I believe that is the best approach as well. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Two (or three) great minds :-)
Weird question for you: when you pass the customs of a new country and they ask for your profession... do you say you are retired or you name your 'previous' profession?
Hey Isabelle!
Very good question. It felt weird initially to say "Retired" but that is what we have reverted to now.... All good 😃
Best wishes
Neil & Sarah
ok thanks, I'll maybe try it one day 🤣
@@2GoRoam I would think retired is the safest answer since if language causes confusion and they think you’re working, that might bring up all sorts of stinky messes. 😉 Your only danger is looking too young for it!
You really must :-)
Marijka - absolutely... we had that challenge at the US Border last year. It was much easier in retrospect to just go for the "Retired" line.
:-)
Was thinking of RENTING our home out to keep the value as it rises and then sell later on when value gets higher....OR sell outright take the cash and invest it.....would love to hear your thoughts on both of those scenerios and if you WISH you rented your home out instead.....we live in Mass USA in a pretty desirable location.....

Best regards,
Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam Hi Neil, thanks to you and Sarah for working on the video. I suppose it boils down to buy-to-let investment with predictable 4%-to-5% ROI after expenses plus capital growth (which is what we get on ours) vs Investment Funds & ETFs with average 8-9% ROI over the long term but high volatility in the short term, esp at the moment with stocks tanking and a bear market upon us. Takes some guts taking flexi 4% rule in bear market times when your investment is 10%-20% down and inflation approaching double digits. All the best, Ian
Why not tell us what the shop charges and what the normal prices were for the SIM card. Just saying actionable intel is better then just intel =)
Good work.

Hey Darrell,
That sounds really cool, do you have details of the plan we can share with our US viewers? We all generally find that when you spend over 3 or 6 months outside your home country at a time the plans are then withdrawn.
Best wishes

@@2GoRoam you are probably exactly right. I’m use to 2 or 3 week vacations. Not months and months. But I’ve wondered when people talk of SIM cards, we use iPhones and the SIM cards are not even accessible. So I wonder what we’d do. Can’t do without our iPhones. Apple products all the way! :-)

Would like to hear your thoughts of investing in Real Estate vs Stock Market :)
How old are you guys? If I may ask.
Hey Anna, we are 52 and 53 👍
Useful video, definitely reminded me I need to update my digital wallet (digital copy of everything in my wallet).
Bank on the full state pension being enough to buy a round of drinks by the time we all get there :-)
Thanks as ever/
