    The AOKZOE A1 and the GPD Win Max 2 are exactly the two devices I am considering. I am looking to game on my commute. I usually binge on Football Manager every year and want a screen size that allows me to read the text. 8" seems to be the minimum for that and my eyes. Looking forward to your comparison!!! Great video!

      Same boat. Same 2 devices I was considering. For what it's worth I went with gpd win max 2. Such a great device. It's not as good ergonomics as a proper handheld but it more than makes up for it with functionality. Plus it would feel weird for me to play football manager on a handheld. The gpd wm2 might be one of my favourite purchases ever. The build quality is top notch. Battery life also excellent. I thought battery life wouldn't matter to me but after using mine it does matter. I've had it for a week now and loving it

    Great video thank you. Do you mind confirming the set the refresh rate option works? Hopefully it has similar feature that the steam deck has to lock at 40hz for battery saving. Also how do you find the battery life for non gaming? Eg. Watching UA-cam vids, browsing etc?

    • @JayPlaysDotCom
      @JayPlaysDotCom  Рік тому +1

      It does have 40 and 60 Hz as options per resolution, yes. Battery life is fairly good: for non-gaming and tdp set to 10W, 75% brightness, I can see this lasting 7 hours or so easily. If you install Linux (steamOS), battery life will increase but you'll lose the software compatibility Windows provides. This whole review was done on one charge at max brightness, normal fan, unplugged (except for the last part). You can also bring a 100w power bank if unplugged for longer sessions.

    great review. Did you end up selling your Steam Deck after picking up the AOKZOE and Win Max 2? I'm debating on whether I should keep my Steam Deck after I get my Win Max 2

    Hi. Great review. Do you notice you'd have to depress the Space key deeper for it to respond?

      For this unit, no. It presses in evenly, makes the normal clacking sound and bounces back up. Tested while typing and it functions as one would expect.

    Nice just watch simple gaming and not getting too hooked up on fps and watts... if it looks good and games then it games and looks good doing it and that boys and girls is all that really matters.

    Great video, i have a question, when you play games at 800p resolution holding the device in your hands does it look too blurry or pixelated? cause i think most demanding games will have to run at that resolution to get good performance and battery life, but the screen is huge for that low resolution

    • @JayPlaysDotCom
      @JayPlaysDotCom  Рік тому +3

      No it does not look blurry but you can definitely tell a difference between 1600p and 800p. The good thing is 800p is half resolution so everything scales well. Also the fact that 720p and up is considered high definition still presents a nice graphic fidelity. The DPI of 800p on a10.1" screen is 150ppi. Compare that to a 92ppi for a 24" 1080p screen for a lot of gamers, that's still a much higher pixel density so pixel peeping wouldn't be much of an issue, even if it's only about a foot away from your eyes.

    Imagine rdna 3 and 7800u.
    Ngl the total system power after the tdp is changed to 15 watts the total is about 28 watts. I hope There is a fix for this sense if it can go down even a few watts it can help

    Thinking of flipping my Deck for this. The Decks screen is 1" too small and I'm tired of SteamOS/Linux, Windows is more straightforward.
