This is why we in the Motorcycle Community, need to Shun the 1% Clubs, let them know they are not wanted, they are not hero's they are thugs and they screw things up for the Rest if us, the AMA was Right 99% of motorcyclists are decent people, the 1%ers know who they are and they wear a diamond patch to tell everyone, no matter what they Say.

Technically speaking, Combat Vets patch is also earned by way of having been in combat while enlisted in the military; trial by combat if you will.
Any Joe Snuffy can't just buy the patch. You have to show your DD214 to become a member, and it has to show proof of a campaign ribbon of a foreign war.
Not trying to raise a huge dispute; I'm just putting it out there.

    • @RidingintheOzarks

I understand that and I meant no disrespect, I meant they don’t do the prospect thing. I have several friends in CVMA and have great respect for our veterans.

Technically speaking, CVMA patch is not earned by way of having been in “combat”. You could have spent your whole time in the military stateside. The campaign ribbon of a foreign war ONLY designates one was active duty while a foreign campaign was going on. Not trying to raise a dispute. Just clarifying there is a difference between “being in the shit “ and not being “being in the shit. Props to all who served, peace time or during a foreign campaign. Top tier props to those who were “in the shit”.

@@davidchapman3663 Wrong. You can only wear a campaign ribbon if you deployed in theater of said campaign. Rear Detachment folks that didn't deploy to the combat theater (for example OEF and OIF) are not authorized to wear those campaign ribbons and will not be on their ERB nor their DD 214. You HAVE to be deployed in the geographic theater of operations to be authorized their campaign ribbons. You may be confusing the CIB, CMB and CAB (combat infantryman badge, Combat Medic Badge and Combat Action Badge) with campaign ribbons. Anyone one is deployed in a combat theater is a combat veteran. The various combat badges just separate combat veterans who actually engaged in combat force on force via direct or indirect.

I ride slick back because too many clubs to keep track of in my area. But I still call my vest a cut. It's armored and its for safety (quote un quote) and for style. But to call a cut as colors.. I don't agree with

  • @jamie_roberts_CMA
    @jamie_roberts_CMA 3 роки тому +3

Small correction and some may disagree, but to be a color wearing member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, you CANNOT just buy a patch. The CMA doesn’t really prospect like MCs do, but to be color qualified, a member has to pass a ministry course. You can’t purchase anything with CMA colors until that happens. You can even be a member of CMA but not color qualified if you haven’t taken and passed the ministry course. You have to do a few other minor things to remain a color qualified member in good standing as well.

I was living in Texas when the Waco shootout happened at a public restaurant. I'm not sure what the answer is for these situations. I hate it that when things get heated people feel they have to pull a gun. It's unfortunate.

Where/when did popo threw us out, CC said the campground was to expensive a few years ago and that was why they stopped having Homecoming at Bikefest. And Yes I know we had it there before Bikefest was a thing, I camped below the Damn for Homecoming 19yrs ago and was there the last year we had it below the dam. I have made a former member take his cut off cause he was walking around with the patch on the back after he was no longer a member.

People involved in the event should just make it very clear to trouble makers that the bikers will police themselves. If someone decides to introduce a weapon they may be met with a weapon of a good guy. Period.

I don’t mean they don’t have requirements like being a combat vet and I meant no respect, I have tremendous respect for veterans. CVMA states clearly they are not an MC, they do not prospect. I was just pointing out different organizations handle membership differently. I have good friends in CVMA, CMA, support clubs and know several 1% ers.

If I used real colors someone might assume I was indicating that club was involved in the shooting or trying to paint that club as being bad guys, the video is about profiling colors not what clubs were involved. My concern is biker rights not club business or someone assuming I am taking sides in someway.

These so called 1%er clubs across the country are just trouble. They seek trouble and usually find it.
These wannabe badass bikers aren’t that bad, most people like bikers in Michigan belong to MC clubs that are just fun and people that know one another. More riders in the Detroit area are independent groups of guys with no club ties yet you better not fuck with them either.MC clubs are only as bad as the pub lic allows them to be at the end of the day

A few places like Tirebitters still have signs up but they have left them up all year and we don't go there...not because I wear colors but don't support the policy. It will be up to each business owner to decide if they will allow colors and some may wait till rally time to put signs out I am going to go scout things in the next few weeks.

I apologize to anyone offended with my comment. My point is, times are changing and children are impressionable. They use shoot out in hockey and soccer, maybe a different label would be less aggressive in an already very aggressive atmosphere. Rubber side down brother and safe riding. The issue here is a local public official pressuring businesses. I think his days are numbered. The event had no say in it and takes place over several municipalities in the area. I don’t want to punish the remaining businesses or the event. I just boycotted businesses that posted signs.
