      Dave and Anthony are very out of touch. They don't get that things are very tough right now. A lot of people are hurting to get by. You just can't get ahead in this world unless you are born into a wealthy family.

      @V A the number one thing is work if you're able. Seems like a no brainer but a lot of women freak out when the man leaves ( and thats ok im not judging them) but the quicker your able to work it will
      A. Helps you feel independent. I not only worked, God blessed me with a good enough factory job that it didn't matter that the kid's dad refused to pay support bc i made enough money i could support us.
      B. Gives you a sense of pride/accomplishment.
      C. takes your mind off your problems. Kinda hard to focus on your problems when you keep busy. ☺

      Anyone who has a show named after them is going to have some degree of narcissism. The only thing that matters is whether they have the competence to back it up and in Dave's case, he does, at least in one area of life.

      It's going to be one of the best choices you will ever make! I have a 04 Corolla and paid $2400 for it. No problems, good gas mileage, 120k miles on it, and will run easily over 300k. I have money coming in from my job and nothing goes to the car except gas and the occasional oil change. It feels free and good

    i saved a large amount starting in my first job. I still got wiped out in 2009. All that planning kept me from homelessness but you can only plan so much. Life happens. A bit harsh to always call it stupidity.

    Hey, nursing is an awesome profession! You get so much OT and shift differentials above your base salary, so nurses make much more in actuality than on paper. I'm 35, my wife and I are both nurses. We have a 700k home with 130k mortgage and 450K invested in index funds.... can definitely be a millionaire as a nurse. The key is we cut our spending and save 60% of our monthly income.

    I don’t think it’s stupidity. I think it’s lack of knowledge. When has a Dave Ramsey, minority mindset, the money guy, or any other finance page top 50 on trending? It never is, people are taught get rich quick/ spend more than you make because if your not rich you can’t get rich. People don’t value long term growth, discipline and dedication to get to the goal. They don’t even teach it in school which is a crime to me. But hey everyone here you have value to add you your children. Look at Dave’s daughter, that’s exactly how we could pass it down as well!

    I don’t think if she stated that she started her 401k at 45 though. Maybe she worked earlier in life, paused to raise her family and then picked back up at 45. My point is, I’m not sure she could have gained over $600k in her 401k from beginning at age 45 to 65. Is this even possible?

    Dave Ramsey is right about a lot of things. I make $45,552 a year and get a 5% raise once a year. I want to make more money and like Dave tells you if you want to make more money then make more money. I’m applying for jobs that pay me more money. I also get the itch to buy myself a brand new car but I look outside at my 2015 Jeep Compass and I ask myself why do I need a new car? It runs great. I also tell myself what Dave says that’s a great million dollar car and I say I can invest that car payment it would be if I got a new car in a Roth IRA. It’s taken me over two years to start disciplining myself.

    Retire when you are old and made money sounds like a dream. But youth is wasted on the young... half of that retirement money is gonna be spent on holding your joints together as you use it.

      Not necessarily. My parents are 89 and 92, and while they have some medical issues, they are still visiting their kids and reinvesting retirement money.

    This is very vague. No explanation on how much she makes. No explanation on her living expenses. No explanation on how much she put into her 401K. Was it 15%? Did she have other investments? What were they and how much did she invest? Did she have any sudden home repair expenses? Did she have any sudden medical bills? Does she have a car? Did she live like a hermit? Did she date within those 21 years and, if so, how much money did she stash from that? Don't pretend dating a man doesn't save you money. It sounds good, but I need details to determine the viability.

      @@jimroscovius lol that’s just one year. What did it earn in 2018, 2015, 2008, 2002, 2001, 2000? Basically what I’m saying is stock mutual funds don’t earn 24% every year. The law of historical averages say stock mutual funds or index stock funds over 10+ years only average 10%/yr.

      @@seasaltisland electronics are cheaper in U.S. same car, fuel, alcohol, basic food and electricity.
      Basic food costs pretty much the same.
      Things that are more expensive: healthy food, healthcare, real estates in city center, higher education, services like barber, tattoo and piercing. Food in restaurants and pubs, taxi services, overall everything driven by salaries, overall things that you can live without.

      @@dabd8175 Yeah dave went bankrupt I believe twice almost lost his marriage He hates debt because that's what bankrupted him but I can't get behind him in some aspects but in some ways he is right especially about mindset and being smart with money but being smart with debt is a thing as well maybe you take out 5-10k loan so you can put it into a home you got for a low price maybe foreclosure back taxes whatever and then turn around and sell it for a profit and pay back the loan and repeat or buy a few cars and fix em up then sell em

      It's more than enough if you don't mind not living in luxury for the most part. I could retire off of less than $600k right now because I'm frugal and don't need a lot to enjoy life.

      Its enough for her.... if your debt free. Obviously she won't have a very extravagant retirement but with social security she will be doing pretty good and with time her account if she isnt touching the principle and saves say 15% of interest income her account will continue to grow.
