Haircut hater gets a makeover by wife

- I hate haircuts based on a horrible experience at the hairdressers as a 10 year old. All the poking and prodding and sitting drove me nuts. Still does. Relying on mum, girlfriends, myself, mates and now Helen, I’ve saved a lot of money and had shoddy hair ever since. After looking particularly crap recently, I decided to have a very fast makeover at the hands of my wife, who’s learning how to cut hair on my head.

Gee Beau, you look fantastic, and your wife, you know, she's a bit of a looker too but you look particularly good
Boom. I knew it. Really well said mate. Nailed it.
Beau, halfway through your trim you look like Hans from the movie “The Burbs”. If you haven’t seen it, it’s an old Tom Hanks movie and is a pretty good watch.
Trophy husband material
@@_Doodle-bob unless Beau wears a head mount for a telly while he’s kayaking up a mountain, I can’t imagine him watching movies…
@@locohombre79 😂😂😂😂
Died laughing when Hellen said, "I need to say something" then you immediately come in with the voice over. 😂😂
YOOOO i am cryinggggg
Yep tears of laughter from then on 🤣
I was shocked. I stopped to watch the video at that point. That's what happens to women all the time in society: they aren't allowed to speak for themselves. The value of their voice and opinion is denied. It's HORRIBLE and NOT FUNNY. I can't believe it
@@friderike6804 your joking right? 💀
@@jare2067 no
The voice over while your wife is talking was just great
how good would that be on the regular. Wife starts chattering away and you get a cool monologue over the top
Absolutely hilarious
Funny, but a bit mean. Although I am sure Helen laughed when she saw the finished video.
Ta TS. Wife is a classic
dude i almost cried :D
Honestly hands down the best channel on UA-cam. The true definition of quality over quantity and I often will go back and watch old videos when I need a kick start at trying to be a better human. Thanks Beau for being Beau.
maybe you like andrew camarata channel as well.😊
Hey Beau, just wanted to take a moment out of my day to tell you that every single one of your videos, independent of length or focus, has made my day a little brighter. You have a natural talent for storytelling and it's wonderful to go on this journey with you.
Yeah same here. Nice one mate!
Sameeeeeeeeeeee
I'm with Beau, I've cut my own hair since I was a kid. My wife is too afraid to do it, and I don't care enough to pay for one. Stay strong Beau!!
I cut my own hair and get compliments often, so, I now save $250. every 3 months on color and cut, since 1998. It all started when my mom thought she could do the cut herself, based on a nice hair cut on a Vogue cover, so she took out her DULL garden scissors, and said, "Come on scissors," as she cut through my very very long straight hair, and now, I am able to keep it trimmed and fresh whenever I want, myself. I've saved a fortune. Add that up!
The both of you made this so much fun. I have never laughed as much at one of your films Beau. Thanks. You look great in your freshly shorn state.
I would’ve just given him a buzz cut. He still would’ve looked great. This is freaking hilarious 😂
Mate I could watch your content everyday for the rest of my life. There's something about it that just makes you think. Sometimes not even deeply just a nice distraction from my life. Thank you
One of the most unusual people on Earth. Love it!!! And a woman who has the spirit to be a partner with him. Really love it! Cheers 🥂
Another great insight into the honest, positive and inspirational world of Beau Miles! Great storytelling as ever and like the other comments, I am loving the short video format as a segue between your larger ideas and projects. Thank you Beau... Keep it up, you're a Bloody Treasure Mate!
I work at a supermarket and I was working today and saw a gentleman that looked strikingly like you. Then I got to thinking how much I enjoy your videos and going back to rewatch some. So to say I was pleasantly surprised to see one was posted just hours before… I’m quite excited for this
I get this way about taking breaks too but it's honestly just a big source of stress in my life and on my loved ones. I've been getting help just trying to relax and not worry about productivity every waking minute of my life.
Helen: “I have some things to say as well.”
Cut to voiceover from Beau.
LOL
Thanks for all that you do, and share, Ryan. Just fabulous.
This is literally wonderful.
This may be the first video I have come across where there is no dislikes (at the moment of this comment/ 8.1k likes); which is truly incredible and I truly enjoyed the short film, well done Beau!
Been cutting my own hair for years (including a trimmed beard), I currently use a Phillips 9-1 trimer. It's a very quick and efficient process that you do while standing (no sitting involved) in front of a mirror over a basin (using a bin to catch most of the offcuts). 9 mm on the back and sides, 16 mm on the top, then the beard trimmer set at 5 mm. A quick clean of the basin area and a quick shower afterward and you are good to go.
It's the suspense! Waiting for a story, and more often than not, it's a memorable one. Your life stories are slowly becoming a tapestry. Till the next one, take care! Helen, well done!
I trained as a female hairdresser for 2 years but didn’t continue it, didn’t enjoy doing it enough. I then self taught myself how to cut men’s hair and every month for the last 8 years I’ve cut my partners hair and shaped his beard and moustache. I love doing it, it’s like a bonding session between us and saves us money. I’ve also cut and dyed my own hair the last 11 years and has saved me more money than I can imagine
I didn't cut my hair for 8 months until 3 days ago. I enjoyed this.
Hey, Beau great video. I'm a tree hugger myself, done many stills for many years. Loved your thoughts on my favorite subject.
HAHAHAH!!!! You are not alone I love it!
I too have been cutting mine forever! I am up to over 4k saved using the same math!!! THIS IS MY FAVORTE VIDEO ON THE INTERNET!
Wonderful timing. My mom is threatening to disown me if I don’t cut my locks off. I’ve grown to love my luscious hair over the past 5 months of growing it out. Tomorrow is the day, and I’m petrified.
You look SO MUCH like actor Tom Hopper, I thought you were him when I clicked lol
Very enjoyable vid 👏🏽 shout-out to the wife!
That’s your beard after 4 weeks?! Brother I’m 2 months into a mustache and it’s still peach fuzz. Admirable.
Lucky wife!! She made you dreamy!!
This is so funny, I enjoy haircuts, it’s relaxing. Going to miss it when I’m bald.
She is absolutely telling them at the shop to not answer your calls :)
Good times! haha!
When you got a full head of hair you can pretty much do whatever you want and it looks good.
My wife cut my hair today so I feel your pain... but think of all the money being saved and that makes it all worth while!
Alas I too have been suckered in to do not only my husbands haircuts over the past I would say 12 years, but also have on many occasions cut my daughters’ hair, all 4 of them. Now my mum insists I cut her hair for the past at least 3 years. No I am not a hairdresser!!! A lament I often exclaim
really cool concept for a video! love how you transfer informaion
Just gotta find a good barber to dap you up takes a out 30 mins but you feel so much better after knowing you look good it's a mood booster
In Canada (Nov. 2023) Toronto upscale salon...a Women's cut $79-150 ; a Mens haircut runs $65-110...includes wash and blow-dry. Beards would be extra, depending on length.(Some woman have longer beards than others).
Women have beards? is Toronto a circus? Lol
Good looking couple after the haircut.
The old world music adds to the fun of it!
I despise getting my hair cut, but I like my hair to be cut (when it gets so long it hurts my neck) My MO is to have a friend cut it the night before an athletic endeavor-give them a few beers and a pair of scissors. Works great. My alternative MO is having my kiddo cut it. Teenagers can be super helpful at times.
One trimmer to cut everything...
I have 2 favorite haircuts - bald and after 3 months.
I feel you on hating haircuts or not getting them. I get a haircut maybe once or twice a year. Once paid, once a mate will offer a trim free. You save a ton of money, plus I like the rugged look anyway.
Plot twist “your wife owns the hairdressers”
As a grizzly haircut hater who's married to a hair stylist... I can relate to this.
This is literally our exact situation!
The hairdresser price list would be on their website 😂 also they're not going to tell you, GDPR and privacy, you could be an angry husband or stalker! Great vid, haircut, Helen is the best hairdresser 💗
I've cut my own hair for the last 10 years. Takes me about 20 min and I can do it whenever I want without having to book an appointment, or worse teaching a girl how to do it properly.
Your wife did an excellent job! I had the bowl cut from my mother when I was a kid... I dare not cause the tiniest of trouble at school with the haircut I got or else I would be an easier target for teasing. 💡 👍🏼 🥣 ✂
I was almost envious that you have hair to cut - but then remembered the bonuses of being bald haha
Gold!
Love your videos Beau, just bought your book for my son who’s an outdoor instructor here in New Zealand. He made a junk paddle during our first lock down 2020. 🛶
Keep up the good work.
This just makes me realize how much _I_ spend on haircuts - not to mention my wife.
Like Helen, I think I'll keep this now-abashed/ashamed figure to myself...
I can actually do a decent job without scissors and it’s so much faster. To keep some length on top I pull my hair up through my fingers like I would for scissors but just hit it with the clippers and a guard. Of course the full buzz is still the fastest option.
My $20 clippers from harris scarfe are nudging 20 years old and still working a treat. In fact their frequency of use is going up, although the crop they cut is a bit thinner... how do i convince my wife this saving = ride on mower?
OMG..... is true. Ryan Rynolds! Why have I never noticed this before.
I see the money expense, but the reward of looking good (subjectively to me) is worth it. Although most of my life I've used a hair trimmer and just left my head semi bold (10mm), can't beat getting up from a nap and not having to wonder how your hair looks.
Beau another great video. I love the quality of your releases. Out of curiosity, have you ever thought of taking on the challenge of skydiving? I think you might really like it, even if your afraid of heights. Just a thought! Have a good one mate.
He's like a cat at the groomer - they all have time limits and when it's up it's over. #girlwiththedogs Beau you're handsome and with how thoughtful you are I'm surprised you don't use that time to meditate.
I've cut my husbands hair for 10 years... saving us a ton of money and effort and I feel exactly the same as Helen everytime - so much pressure to finish it before he gets too frustrated!! Youd think he was doing me a favour 😆
I'm missing out on employment at the moment because I don't want to get a haircut. It's been a year since it was last cut and nearly 3 since a barber cut it. I can't tell you the exact amount it would cost me now because for some reason a barber is somewhere between $35 to $50 but the last cut I had was $25 and I used to get a monthly cut, so I think I would have saved roughly $900. I do have to get it cut soon because I am going to give it to a wig maker for someone who needs it. I'll also do a charity event for the Westpac rescue chopper at the same time. They saved my life a year ago.
"I've got something to say---" *muted*
totally relate, i pray my awesome hairstylist will one day speed it the f up….
You need to get some clippers with a guard. For quickest way to do a haircut is clippers with a guard (I use #5) all over and then for the sides you use clippers again but this time you use a smaller guard (#3 or #2). Then you won’t have to use those kitchen scissors that make your audience cringe. Get some nice clippers too ones that are made in Japan, Germany, Korea and they’ll last you forever if you oil them every now and again.
Love the hairdresser/wife conspiracy!
Give it a buzz with a trimmer mate. Couple of mins and its done. (My wifey does tidy up the back a bit 😉)
Great value Tormund
If didn’t shower every day my wife would make me sleep in the spare room lol.
You can make this so easy by using clippers
I just chopped my hair off. Its at most 4 or 5 millimeters long so it is minimal maintenance :)
I cut my own hair. I also hate going to a hair stylist. I just use a trimmer and trim everything to the same length. I personally take no pleasure in hair styles.
I bought an electric hair trimmer. I use it to cut my hair, and I get everything done with it except for cleaning up the cut line on the back of my neck. I have my wife do that, and it takes her about 2 minutes.
I had her do all of the cutting one time and she couldn't handle the stress.
I find that funny because I'd cut her hair in a milli-second, and I wouldn't have a single worry about it.
My process is pretty simple, I go over every square inch with a number 8 guard. Then I run the number 3 guard down the back of my head from the equator. I finish with the number 2 guard over my ears.
If my wife ever goes comatose and I do get a chance to cut her hair, I'll have to come up with a different method than what I use on mine. But I know that by the third time I'll have it down.
The cutter has paid for itself numerous times over, and I don't have to leave the house.
I don't mind the process of getting a haircut, sure it's boring but I can manage.
What I hate is waiting for my turn, getting an appointment for 10 AM, showing up at 9:55 and then sitting and waiting until 10:20! I HATE IT!
Im curious what the music is in this video. Shazam seems to think it's by an artist called Jiharka but I cannot find absolutely anything on them. How did you find the track? It fits the video perfectly!
Hahaha, excellent. YOU BETTER CALL BEAU😂
Funny film thank you all
She uncovered the handsome in you! 😄
you two make a great couple.
$25 for mens hair cut, I wish. You could halve that time for the mower with what I pay. I was wincing at Helen taking random chunks out haha
Someone has probably commented this already but in the theme of time wasted is time lost I can't be bothered reading 1000+ comments to check. I'll simply suggest that you buy a set of clippers and do your own head shave, fast, economical and done to your time frame, whatever that is.
I used to get p.nched in the head by my Dad because my hair wouldn't stay parted.
I don't cut any hair and just let it do whatever it wants
Short but sweet - the film not necessarily the haircut but it looks fine.
Not a fan of the process myself - always end up very unkempt before finally getting sheared- sometimes do it myself No 4 all over.
I've never paid for a haircut in my life. Mom always did it and if she doesn't now I do. I ain't paying for that service.
I have a blonde head of hair and like you a thick ginger beard. I always use feather blades
Beau, I am also that guy to my wife, should we apologise for not being able to sit still?? Sitting still makes me restless uncomfortable. I have no control over that do I ?
My man cosplaying Jim Varney.
Beautiful couple...
Man, I love getting haircuts. Basically the only reason I'm sad I don't have hair anymore, other than that I don't really care.
Trimmed Beau is a fucking handsome beast of a man capable of all the impregnancies
BRO YOU LOOK GOOD AND ALSO IM THE SAME WAY
5:04 very ironic considering that mawing is pretty much shaving for grass...
Quickly showing my wife this video
You’re a very handsome man. The first video of you I watched, you were rather well groomed. I then watched some content later and you looked like a wildman. You might not like a haircut but they fit you quite well.
My quick tip, just buzz cut and do it yourself. Takes 5 minutes every couple of weeks, you can easily do it yourself, and costs nothing.
Left my first comment about calling with the pretense of wanting to buy Helen a gift card before I got to the end and witnessed the ultimate failure that route became. Sorry mate, we're doomed. My wife has a hair appointment today.
Fantastic! I mean Sure, The wife’s a looker but you! A lion amongst men. Jeez.
Beau: I hate having to sit around wasting valuable time to get a hair cut
Me: (just sitting around watching a video Beau getting a haircut 😐)
NUMBER 2 BUZZ CUTS THE GO BEAU
I feel Beaus pain... My missus thinks she can can cut hair too... Like shes an expert and I'm her experiment.
lol HELEN YA CRACKED THE EGG HAAA lol love you to you do look different look up hyperactivity lol
Simon Whistler sends his sympathy. Dealing with such a full thick head is such a hardship
"a lot of people have good beards because they don't have good faces" I did a fricken spit take on that. But mate you have a good chin, no worries at all.
That was great.
Hero regardless true explorer Gee Beau!
