I can’t help but wonder watching you showing new releases weekly, Does any of these companies release good old BLACK VINYL anymore??? I think they are using colored vinyl just to make people rebuy albums they have already Wow! I need that again in polka dot vinyl!!! Black vinyl will become scarce soon enough!!!
just wondering why would someone buy a reissue of jim croce are culture club. when you can buy a orignal copy for around $5-$8. i see them all the time. southside johnny, had 4-5 of his albums about 3 years ago, didnt sell, dropped them off to the goodwill, lol. just wondering
@@brianprince6745 why do people buy $80K new Ford Broncos when there are several rusted out originals to be had for far less? Sometimes people just want something different. Whether it’s remastered, remixed, or in a different color. Remember, there were also millions of those originals made (that’s why they are readily available for considerably less than these newer counterparts). However, just take the Culture Club record as an example, there’s likely going to be far less of these produced and more of a demand than supply can handle. I can guarantee you there are some people out there just buying these purely on speculation that in a year or less they will be able to double or triple their money. On the other side of the argument, and more likely to your point, some people buy these things because they have a lot more disposable income I guess. I wish I had a better answer for you, but likely it’s more the first scenario I posed.
Some people simply don't know or simply don't care about original pressings. Some people are after that perfect soundstage with no background noise, crackles or pops..
There are a number of different reasons for sure. Some people LOVE the colored vinyl over the original black vinyl. Sometimes these new reissues end up being mor collectable than the original pressings and is something some people really appreciate. I personally have mint OG copies of of the Jim Croce, but when he said the one was remixed I thought, Hmmm...I might grab one and check it one. Working at the shop one thing I also notice sometimes is that some people don't like the idea of giving a record that looks used with ring wear or scuffs as a Christmas gift. They feel it's kind of tacky. So there a a bunch of random reasons. To each his own I guess :) Have a great one my friend and keep it spinnin'! \m/
