literally when I saw the quality of content, video, editing, audio after seeing all that I think you have more than at least 5m subs great work man really appreciate it!!!
Great video, Saptarshi! It is exciting to see how Sketch, XD and Figma are competing and growing. Hopefully soon they will include more advanced prototyping functionality.
Thanx for this great video, I was really confused about why people use AE for animating the UI, when you can do it with the Designing tools... Thanx to this video everything is clear now.. 🔥🔥🔥
Just a bit of advice (take it or leave it) - Not all design apps are as sought for or complex. My advice is to start with XD - it gives a proper introduction to a UI / UX tool and if you know photoshop, you already know XD - the interface is adobe and you can start right away. Don't stay on XD too long, transition to Figma - it's more professional and more powerful. XD is for the beginning, when you learn to design and UI principles, Figma is easy to know after it. When you are alright with your knowledge of UX & UI, start learning some animation software, you can even start with figmotion and then transition to AE, Rive or gsap. When you understand the UI and the UX, you can start specializing with other tools and have a secondary or tertiary app. The tools are not that important at this stage - and this is where this video fits.
Well for a beginner learning the auxiliary tools is a great boost ... Planning to learn after effects soon waiting to upgrade my pc a bit to smoothly run it.
@@saptarshipr XD was a natural switch to me from the Adobe family, as I was already using illustrator, photoshop, indesign for print design. Figma just feels out of that ecosystem. But yes, as you said correctly, it's not very different. Have taken a leap of faith, from a print designer to a UI/UX designer :) adapting to an evolving environment. Seeing your work is a great inspiration! 🙌
Great video about design tools. I'm currently learning after effects for advanced UI Animation and following your motion design master class ;) great course. Only have 2 videos left
Sir, could you make a series of UX/UI process from the Design thinking to end user product, how each process works. It would be very useful for beginners who just entered in this field. Thanks for explain everything so easily.
Hey Sapta! A video on the hardware devices you have used on your design journey. Why I am asking because some tools like after effects etc do require a good computer. What kind of devices you guys use in your team?
Alright.. I can do that :) Honestly I do not use any fancy hardware. I use a regular Macbook Pro 15. Not the maxed out or anything. Before this when I was in college, I used a a very basic compaq laptop.
Hey Sapta, thanks for the great video. u r inspiration to so many of us man. Can u pls do a video on a small project/ case study. Where u can use any of the design tool, which u have explained in the video with the complete UX process to get more gyan on UX & UI.
I want to get started in UX design but I'm confused where to start? How to go ahead in this journey? Can you please make videos on fundamentals of UX design and tutorials for absolute beginners please. I love your style of teaching so if you can please do it
Your content is amazing Sapta! I was wondering if you could make a video on something similar to the Merry Christmas piece on your Dribble? I'll make sure to buy you a coffee if you do.
I would say invision studio is a pretty advanced prototyping tool, the timeline and easing control makes it a viable tool for 99% of the projects you’ll likely work on
Figma I use the most, I will start learning advance prototyping tool👍.I am little confused in empathy mapping, if possible make video with empathy mapping of real time application.thanks a lot
Thank you so much for this video! Can you please make a video about how you work with XD/Figma -> AE -> Premiere Pro for the animated graphic designs in your UA-cam videos?
You can collaborate in realtime with Adobe XD and it's best of the four in terms prototyping, I can animate lots of things in one art-board with the power of state in XD
Thanks for sharing, I have started to make some UI/UX samples in both XD and Figma, my personal choice would be figma. Also, what are the things that a company requires while hiring a UI/UX designer? Do we need to have an idea of HTML/CSS/Java ? or any coding knowledge ? As it is very evident that designers "dont like to code".
Hey Sayan.. You essentially need to be good at problem solving (i.e. the analytical side of things) and craft (i.e. the hands-on side of design). You may check out this video of mine. ua-cam.com/video/siau9a6YLm0/v-deo.html This should give you a good idea. Nope, you dont need to know any kind of coding :)
hi Sapta, I just landed on this video while watching one of your recent ones and saw that this, it is very useful, athough its been more than 2 years you posted it, wanted to ask you is there any change you would like to make to this design tool list which you might be using day to day worrk?
Hey Pooja.. I rechecked the entire video just to reply to you :) Nothing much changes actually. All the categories as well as the tools are relevant in 2023 as well. Of course, the tools have gotten better than what they were 2 years back and Adobe XD is almost non-existent becasue Adobe took over Figma and shifted focus away from XD, for professional design. Even in the future, the categories that I have mentioned will not massively change. The tools inside them may change, though.

Like I have said, these tools are very similar :) Finally narrows down to personal preference. I like both Figma and XD. Its just that I use Figma more often.
Hi Sapta! I've been following your work and need your technical help - I'm making Motion Design Artworks for Dribbble shots. As I'm not a pro member I'll have to upload GiF files. Can you make a video or explain to me how you export the gif files for utmost quality and 60 FPS. I've been having trouble exporting them to their fullest like you have in your Dribbble gif shots. Thank you! Things I've tried - Exporting through ME - gif transparency gets grains and noise. Exporting a Video and then via photoshop exporting a gif - photoshop has a limit of 500 frames so it's almost impossible to get a 60fps video to gif.
This is the tough part actually. Unfortunately, there is no good way to export high quality gifs with lower file size. I used to reduce the frame rates from 60 to 30fps to reduce the file size. You can try opening the video file in Photoshop and 'Save As' to gif. In the 'Save As' menu, try making it 1or 2% lossy. They should reduce the file size to some extent.
Yes, they are starting it. It's happening in Sketch as well. But it still doesn't support browsers yet, as far as I know. In case of Figma, I can share the link of the file over Slack with a developer, and run the entire flow through them. They don't need to have the Figma app or a license to view it. So, I can collaborate with anyone! :)
Collaboration in XD is still at it's infancy, last time I tried sharing a project on XD I had to create a prototype from all the frames and only those frames which were linked together would show up in the shared link. The ones which weren't linked wouldn't show up. Whereas in Figma the entire project is displayed.
