I recently only heard this pianist, Radu, for the very 1st time, & simply choose to listen on a regular basis now.His sometimes slower playing suits me very much, in some particular way, whenever it suits.I was devastated when I heard of his death at such a young age- 75 I believe, fairly recently.RiP.Mr Lupu.
@@eamongriffith280 I just came from Gould's recorded version, and it's 12: 27, the live version 12: 29. Slightly slower than this, and a side note, remarkably consistent!
ああ、聴きだしたら、離れられなくなってしまう。深淵に連れていかれて・・・・ああ、どこまでも。
ルプーのすごさ、悲しみを哀しみを内包したままに、私の心をわしづかみに。 人生はかなしい。

I've unintentionally been listening to this recording in the weeks before Lupu's death... RIP
Radu Lupu était un pianiste talentueux ...
Mais quelle merveille absolue !!!
The best interpretation of this piece.
by far ...had this LP as a young man ...loved it
his touch is like black velvet. very unique interpretation.
FINAL GRANDIOSO, COM UM CRESCENDO E ACELERANDO. ÓTIMA GRAVAÇÃO!!!
powerfull, me gustó bastante, había olvidado a este músico, lo escuché en Lima hace 50 años
Unique
I really liked what Rado Lupu did at 3:10:)
magnificent magnifique
good pianist yeah
👍
Lupu surpasses Gilels, I must say!
Haha he added octave doubling in the left hand at 3:10. Risky touch for a recording ;)
Impressive performance. Rather on the slow side, but powerful and perceptive and musical. Nothing in common with Gould's travesty.
This is slow for you???
He says it's too slow but Gould takes it really fast 🙄

Glenn Gould for me in general, but nice!
Why does he play staccato (for example the arpeggios in the first variation) if Beethoven wrote legato?
It's not legato, it's leggero.
Non legato from Beethoven
