What he meant was being correct all the time shouldn't be prioritized over considering how someone might feel. Personally, this depends on the situation, however in Toast's situation, he was proving how he's right constantly that it started pushing the other person away. When you're stuck in a room with a know-it-all typa person, you can't help but get annoyed at times you know?

Knowledge is powerful, but being human should be the core purpose of that power. It's basically a power(position/authority e.g. being right all the time means you have more control and power) issue, like in our studies in social science, this is usually the case of authoritative leaders where their empathy and humanity are overshadowed by their power. It must hurt him to say that. I mean it is not easy to stay single especially knowing how much Toast cares for people.
Well, Toast you can work on that "logical" part and then there will be a chance for you to date? associate with people? I think it is good that you know where you exactly come short with relationships and partnerships. I don't think it matters to be right but surely being right all the time can grow your ego .. it is tricky to navigate? For example, even if you found someone who don't mind you being right, what says you don't get fed up with them being naive or not like you or to your level?

"it's not easy to stay single"? just because I care for people, that doesn't mean I must be a relationship-addict. we should only date if we are genuinely invested in someone, not because it's expected to chase relationships for societal pressure. it's 2021, staying single shouldn't be stigmatized.

You should look for the right person for sure, but that does not mean your body and mind don't want someone to be with. It's more of a problem with the fact that most people crave a relationship because it's linked to our most rooted instincts, not because society says we need to. You should not rush into a relationship if the person is not right, but that does not mean it is easy to be single, because for most adults it is not.

They're chasing relationships just for the sake of it, not because they have a certain crush or whatever. Love should be natural, but people force it to not stand out. I know a guy who can't stay single for more than a month, then he wonders why his relationships fail - because he jumps into new ones when he's still not over the previous one. I had a very similar problem with my ex. She would always call me out on lying and manipulation, but I never intentionally tried to do it. I never realized what I was doing and how negatively it affected our relationship. I felt we were doing great, but in reality I was acting like a total POS to her. I would never open up to anyone because i always felt like i annoyed anyone i talked to and felt like everyone secretly hated me so I tries not to ever make a lasting connection to them. I would never open up to her how I felt and I would bottle up all of my emotions and push it to the back of my mind. She was also the type to always be right. She realized it and tried working on it. When i was informed on what i was doing wrong i would work on it, but i would go back to doing it within a few weeks without realizing. And after the breakup I feel like an awful person for how I treated her. We are trying to stay friends, but we dont really talk to much anymore. All it is is her sending me tic toks and me reacting to them. I try and send her memes and videos that I know she would like, but she told me that she doesn't look at the video I send her. And after we broke up I still lived with her for a few weeks so I could move back in with my parents and she would always tell me to ask out a girl at a restaurant I go to frequently for my lunch because I confided in her that I believed that the girl might have a crush on me for stacking every discount on me even though I'm supposed to only get 15% off and I was the only one she does it to. She would do it just to make me mad she told me a few days before i moved out. I know now that i am not a good boyfriend and i honestly dont think i should be in a relationship until i can fix my problems. I made some friends that i can actually call friends at work and i am working on opening up to them, especially since I am going through a really tough time in my life (not relationship related). I talked to my ex about it because I needed to vent and she was giving me great advice and I'm going to take it if something does happen from my situation.
Idk why I'm posting this honestly. I just feel like I need to get it off my chest to stress less over it

This actually sheds some possible light on my life. I'm in a similar situation. My sister, mom, and many friends all say that I'm always right and that it's great when it's useful but it can be really annoying because it means if they ever try to go against my thoughts they're probably wrong. I've learned when to stay quiet and let people have their own victories (being considerate over being right), but it's a slow process and it's hard to watch people be wrong when you know the correct answer or the best thing to do. I don't want to live other peoples lives, but sometimes I know the best thing to do and the other person doesn't, and that makes it difficult to exist. I let them fail, I feel bad, I tell them how not to fail, I still feel bad. Looking at my past relationships, I've definitely had the 'correct over considerate' mindset a lot, and I feel bad for many of the people who I dated and had to deal with that. Worse is that I felt like I wasn't the problem because I do everything right, but in reality being right is the wrong thing to do.

I can relate a 100% because I’m also very smart & correct all the time so people find me annoying even though they later find out I was right. So it takes a lot of time, even years for people to truly trust in me but then that relation is solid af.

I'm on the spectrum so I know what it's like to lack a lot of emotions, especially in a relationship. I've learned to communicate via touch because I'm not very verbal. One squeeze means something, two squeezes means another, etc, etc, it kinda depends on where we're at and what we're doing (though two squeezes almost always defaults to "love ya!"). We're both very logical and arguments tend to be based on miscommunication and are resolved quickly. It's nice to see him acknowledge his faults and is clearly learning from it. I hope one day he finds someone he can click with, and I hope that behind the scenes he and Janet didn't end on too bad of terms.

Being mature enough to be able to step back and think things over to realize what possible faults/flaws that you've made in a relationship is always a step in the right direction to better oneself. Accepting it as it had happened and using that experience forward is always a breakthrough, at least, in my opinion.

I didn't even know they used to be together. Also, I really relate with Toast being more logical in relationships, and lacking that emotional connection. I'm too direct with my questions so that nothing can be misinterpreted, and I come off as very methodical and scripted with any relationship in general. Also, my logic can sometimes make me dismiss the validity of a person's emotions. Saying, if a person gets personally attacked by something I did that wasn't intended to be taken personally. I'll tell them "you have no reason to take it personally if you had a better understanding of the intention of the message" which is true, sure, but I'm also directly saying that that person has no right to feel, even if it's a misunderstanding. And that's just one of a plethora of issues I have

why? if the logic isn't flawd pushing for your logic opinion is the best thing for everyone. Putting emotions in logical decisions is part of the problem that makes this world be a shit hole.

@@paulgotik There's nothing wrong with thinking logically. Like, at all lol. It's when someone who values THEIR opinion over someone else's regardless if they really are right or not. Toastie just said he's right 90% of the time. The problem isn't because he's right, it's his arrogance that is what is a flaw with opinionated people. As he said, he's not boyfriend material. Why? Because it sounds like he values being right over anything else.

@@AA-bk1oe Again, people like you focus too much on seeing that as a negative - and seem to dismiss the other side of things, if he finds himself being right constantly then there is clearly a problem with the other person in terms of intelligence or emotional opinions - the other person also needs to grow as a person and knowledge wise before even arguing - there are 2 sides to being stubborn, those who are right but are too condescending and those who are wrong yet continue to argue despite lack of effort into research etc.
Based on this, he makes janet sound like a person that argues emotionally with lack of effort into the logical aspects of an argument. And while he basically says that he was too focused on correcting her, it's also exhausting if people are constantly wrong yet don't humble themselves and put more effort into learning.

@@CrimsonHeart3 The person who needs to humble themselves is Toast. People like me huh. Lmao...I'm opinionated. That's why i said what i said. What you're saying is describing someone who assumes they're right all the time. Which is very debateable. There's clearly a lack of humbleness here and likeability. Why do you think Toast is always complaining?

@@paulgotik I don’t think it’s a logic issue. I’m pretty logical person, myself, too and whenever I argue with some one, I think I’m right because I have my own way of doing things and thought process. But once the argument cools down, I consider the other’s perspective and maybe I don’t agree with their way or opinion. But I think about it Toast may be right and justified, but I think at the time, Janet’s opinions and thoughts is justified too. They just thought of things differently. Logic is important, but I feel like another thing is having a mutual respect for the other’s opinion even if you think they’re wrong. I’m not going to guess or theorize what actually went wrong in their relationship, but I do think base on Toast, one was being too logical in an argument and the other had their own opinions which she wanted Toast to understand and consider. It’s a relationship, not some computer system. So, emotions will come to play during an argument. Both sides just have to work out the issues together.

I dealt with this recently too, except it was just a conflict between friends. I dont think im smart but after asking others, they also believe I was correct, however, when I apologised, I apologised only for how I made the person felt and explained that I cannot apologise for doing the right thing. It was an interesting enlightenment in my life, that being right sometimes doesnt have a good outcome, but I know I cannot live with myself for doing something wrong even if it has a good outcome.
