    Let the piece dry over night before doing the piping. That way if you make a mistake or don't like what you did, it is easier to remove and doesn't really disturb the base frosting.

    🎂 The regular cake is my favorite since I'm not in to 'spooky' things, but you did a great job on both!

    I love this idea you did an amazing job!! One thing I learned after doing things like this and then having a light bulb moment and being like" oh yeah" I think something that would have made this a little easier would be to unhinge the boxes & take them completely apart until they were dry lol

    Trying this spackle icing on paper mache cupcakes with my students. Does it dry solid? and how long did it take to completely dry?

    • @AnchoredArtDesigns
      @AnchoredArtDesigns  10 місяців тому +1

      That sounds like fun! It does dry solid! The kind I used dried pretty quickly! I think it was dry to the touch within hours and completely cured in 24 hours! It also depends on how thick it is, but it’s pretty quick. At least it was for the kind I used! I linked it in the description! Hope that helps and hope your project is super fun!!! 💖

    Doesn't spackle cave in when you press on it ? Would silicone be better ???

    • @AnchoredArtDesigns
      @AnchoredArtDesigns  7 місяців тому +4

      That was not my experience! It’s very firm and I even accidentally dropped one of them 😅 and it was perfectly fine! I haven’t tried silicone, so I’m not sure if it would be better 🤷🏼‍♀️

      I make phone stands and decoden phonecases even though I love how the spackle looks it does cave in,I feel like spackle for these types of diys are best for stuff you won't be touching much,I use silicone for these now,the texture isn't the same as spackle but it's durable for sure

    • @AnchoredArtDesigns
      @AnchoredArtDesigns  6 місяців тому +2

      I honestly haven’t tried it on anything else, but I was really impressed with its ability to stick and its durability! I’d say it’s worth the experiment to see 😂

    Were you able to open the spooky one? Do you recommend spackling it separately from trial and error

    • @AnchoredArtDesigns
      @AnchoredArtDesigns  11 місяців тому

      It is able to open as well! The spackle holds its shape really well, but is also really flexible too! I tried to avoid the opening of the box too.

    Hi, I loved the video! How long does it take for the sparkle to dry completely and does it dry hard and crunchy?

    • @AnchoredArtDesigns
      @AnchoredArtDesigns  8 місяців тому

      Hi! Thank you so much! I’d say around 48 hours to be 100% dry (especially in the thicker areas). It dries hard, but not crunchy! I actually accidentally dropped one and it all stayed solid and did not crack or crumble at all! Hope that helps!

    Hii, some Spanish speaker can tell me what spackle means? I mean what material is it? 🥺

    • @truegemrn
      @truegemrn 9 місяців тому

      It’s found in places like home depot. It’s for patching up holes in the wall and stuff.

    • @AnchoredArtDesigns
      @AnchoredArtDesigns  9 місяців тому

      That’s a great explanation! It comes out soft, then hardens! It’s usually for filling nail holes in walls. Its name here is spackle and that isn’t the name brand, so I’m not sure how else to describe it! I hope that helps!

      ¿Sabes lo que es la tablaroca o panel de yeso, unas tablas para montar muros? Esta pasta se usa en esos muros. Búscalo así, pasta para juntas de tablaroca, o compuesto para panel de yeso. Fíjate que sea la versión de peso ligero.
      Por cierto, también hay tutoriales usando materiales caseros, que serían básicamente pegamento y yeso.
