Oh God yes. I took Mahler's 7th for MAD granted and want to see the score for it now without having to download and study it like I did for Mahler's 2nd and 3rd Symphonies.
I'm going to see this in September. Cannot wait omg!!! update: I saw it and throughout the entirety of the fourth movement, there was just a continuous stream of tears down my face. Not an exaggeration. Also loved the 3rd movement, even if the counterpoint was just to spite the critics who said he couldn't do it!!!
Just love this symphony. Outstanding! I must say, Mahler was certainly a guineas. His music is something you never get tired of listening to. At least not me. I must say, it's so sad Mahler never got to hear this. Anyways, thank you so much for uploading this magnificent recording.
@@mgorshkoff7929sorry for late answer, didn't saw your comment before came to listen it again. Here it is: 9:22 is reference to Strauss walzer Freut euch des Lebens (Enjoy life), op 340. In score video on youtube theme that you need is at 5:00

MAHLER DID NOT HAVE TO GO THAT EMOTIONAL WITH THE CHORD AT 418 (3rd movement) 56:10
Those closing bars... such an intensity, as the threads of life shear away in abject resignation and acceptance. Heartbreakingly beautiful...
Leonard Bernstein rip-off
you can hear mahler activley resisting the atonal influences that were plalguing him at the time of writing this symphony

These “Viennese” waltz episodes from the 2nd movement are just superb. Probably my favourite of all Mahler’s waltzes
