So glad I found your Channel. Thank you for giving us adult collectors a boost. Growing up, I did not get to play with dolls as much as I would have enjoyed. My family raised horses and they believed having a horse was enough. Now, I am a retired therapist, age 72. Disabled by arthritis, I live with my son for safety. He is an avid thrifter. So I accompanied him one Saturday and found a 18" AG-like doll in shabby but fixable condition for $6.95. Her long hair (a wig) was in a tremendous tangle, her vinyl was so grimy I thought she might be a doll of color. Her cloth body was suprisingly clean but her left shoulder and head were sagging. She was wearing a dirty, flannel night dress. When I found her I thought..."she's a much loved doll." She looked as though she was dragged along by her left arm, as a little girl's beloved companion. I cleaned her vinyl to a rosy shine. She has a precious face with her eyes a bit too close together. I restyled her hair into a side braid, added a satin ribbon to the end and re-stuffed her left shoulder and secured her head. Now, she is my comfort doll. I named her Precious Lizzie. I did not find a brand name or trade mark on her. I have purchased a few outfits for her from Etsy. She is a bit chunky for some of the commercial 18" doll brand name clothes. I love your clothing hauls and recommendations. Wish I could show you her picture. I'll have to work on getting her picture out. Thank you for your UA-cam channel and videos. I wished I would have started my doll journey sooner they really are quite a joy and comfort to me. I love your story how you found your beloved dolly and I am happy you saved her.
