Here's how I would have ended the film: Luther: Skipping Christmas? What a stupid idea. Nora: Maybe next year. (Blair runs out with Enrique) Blair: Mom! Dad! Enrique gave me a real good idea. Let's go on a cruise tomorrow! Why not spend Christmas in the Caribbean for once? (Luther goes mad and starts screaming and destroying Christmas decorations)
Chill out guys. This movie was adopted from the John Grisham book Skipping Christmas. They want to skip Christmas because their only daughter won't be home with them and so they can save a little money. It's not meant to be taken seriously. It's a good book and maybe you should read it so you can see the real meaning behind it. The fact that when you're in a time I need your friends will be there for you and help you out, no matter what.
I swear the Kranks seem like they are living in my town full of nosey ass people that are just off in the head. People that stare at you like your a fucking celebrity this state's motto is fitting for it's people the show me state. All in all great movie had to pause it to break from laughing so much
You don't get why people are mad. It's a film about a couple wanting to break away from a traditional holiday just for a year to save their money in this bad economy. But only to get physically harassed, pressured, stalked, and criticized, and humiliated for not taking part in the holiday. For what? For them to break down and give in to their neighbour's and paint a fake Christmas. As someone who doesn't celebrate holiday's, I'd be horrified to move into that neighbourhood.
i was looking back on past movies in the U.S. box office chart site and I stumbled upon Christmas with the Kranks, i remember watchin it Robinson's place bacolod back in 2004(:
I know there are people who loves this movie and those who says it "sucks", but some of my friends regard this movie's premise as vile and evil. These people do not have their daughter around and want to celebrate Christmas their own way, yet the neighbours are trying to stop them for selfish reasons. And this couple are the ones portrayed as bad. It sends a bad message to children, and the ideologies of the Krank's neighbours are disturbing.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who disagrees with the neighbors and their attitudes with how the Kranks are celebrating the Chirstmas holiday. So they aren't celebrating Christmas that year. BIG DEAL!! The neighboors should realize that the Krank's daughter isn't there and they don't wanna celebrate it without her. Somebody else could've held a party and maybe even barrow the Frosty thing. They took things too far. Instead of blaming the Kranks.
i swear the town in this film is a cult. they don't let someone skip christmas. it's their own personal lives they can do whatever they want but instead the whole town is possessed and wants to forcefully throw christmas at them.
who acts like this? i live in chicago, and the ward boss doesnt go around bugging people like this, let alone in the suburbs. on my street alone, probably due to the recession, only one house across from me is lit up for christmas. NOBODY else put up decoration lights. thats why i found this movie completely unrealistic.
- "Did you talk talk to Rex?" - "Who's Rex?" -"The BUTCHER!" (Obvious facial expression) - "As odd as it sounds, i didn't think of asking the butcher where the CHOCOLATE was!" LMAO..That kills me every time :)
FROM REVOLUTION STUDIOS he thought no one would notice but the yule tide is about to turn THIS HOLIDAY SEASON one man will discover that no matter how hard you try or how far you go you just can't skip Christmas TIM ALLEN JAMIE LEE CURTIS (CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS) only in theaters NOVEMBER 24TH DIRECTED BY JOE ROTH
@JustDreamOnAStar Same here! :) every year in my family we watch The Santa Clause, Miracle on 34th street, christmas with the Kranks , home alone and also The Polar Express :) They are all such feel good films :)
Reading the comments about this movie, i'm glad i was not the only one who's irritated by their neighbors. I don't get the point why they won't let them experience other things aside from their usual "Christmas celebration". Why force people to do things they don't have the heart of doing? :|
Does anyone know were the song can be found that is played during the movie around 1 hour and 6 minutes when they are decorating the house. The end title only calls it White Christmas by Duplex. But I cant find it anywhere.
This is probably the first American movie with a Ganguro/Mamba character. (Remember the girl from the tanning salon that looked like she spent her days off there? Oh yeah.)
christmas with the kranks is a cinematic masterpiece on par with the emoji movie, and destroying anything near infinity warfare or or avengers game end
plus nobody goes around selling christmas tree's door to door. they are usually sold on an empty lot by farmers who come into town for the month to sell them.
I hated the neighbours in their movie. It was like "Cheaper by the Dozen", with the kids... The detestable, selfish, bullying characters are brought across as those with the correct mindset.
Trivia question: Tim Allen isn't the only person from this movie to be on Home Improvement. Three other actors from this movie have guest starred on the show. One in 3 episode (playing a different character in each), another in 2 episode and the other in one episode. Which three are they? I won't be surprised if no one gets this, because it's a tough one.
+Kyle Oxenham According to Imdb M. Emmet Walsh was on HI twice as "Col. Fred Patterson" in two eps. - the Colonel and "Twas the Night before Chaos". If I remember correctly the character was Tim Allens father in law. Particularly in the Christmas episode he helped him do the Christmas decorations only after he learned that the neighbor he was competing with was a "Navy butt doctor" (his character was in the Army).
one of my favorite christmas movies of all time!
Most underrated christmas movie of all time
I love this movie, I dont care what anybody says. I don't know why people take this movie so seriously... it's just suppose to be a fun movie.
I swear to God, when Jamie Lee Curtis tries to buy the ham, she screams more than she did in Halloween getting chased by Michael Myers.
But not as much as in True Lies.
I feel like I just watched the entire movie already.
same
KevinBackistone Amen.
I can't believe this is turning 10 this December!! Seems like just yesterday I was at The Incredibles seeing this trailer.

wow
I like this movie but the trailer is basically the whole thing shortened into 2 minutes.
2 Christmas movies where Tim Allen falls off a roof
I probably would have disowned that daughter after going through all that crap
Back then when trailers literally revealed the whole ass plot 😂
I love the scene when he gets the botox done, and he tries to eat... it's one of the funniest things ive seen!! LOL
The music from the end is also from Home Alone which is also one of my favourite Christmas movies

Great movie gave me chills at the end.
Why did he just throw the “baby’s first Christmas” ornament.

they did not skip Christmas they were just going to celebrate it some where else

@SiRogerNi actually this movie is based on the book SKIPPING CHRISTMAS it's written on the front cover
Christmas with the Lightyears
Somewhere in my memory
I felt I just watched the whole movie with just the trailer.
I love this movie.. It's so funny! Merry Christmas everyone..
it sounds like the music from home alone, which was done by john williams, so maybe they used some of the music from home alone.

the mom reminds me SOOOOOOOOOOO much of my mom
2:00 Home Alone's theme plays
this trailer is like the entire movie hahahah! just watch this.
What if their neighbors were Jewish. This movie makes no sense. If you don't want to celebrate Christmas it's not big deal lmao
But they neightbors spend the whole movie bullying them into celebrating Christmas... their way. Horrible movie.
Mi película favorita por siempre ❤
You're heaven-sent ... a loadful of thanks!!! May blessings flow your way in abundance! ... (;
i swear the town in this film is a cult. they don't let someone skip christmas. it's their own personal lives they can do whatever they want but instead the whole town is possessed and wants to forcefully throw christmas at them.
Tim got his face sunburn and teeth frosty 😄😂
This trailer is essentially the whole movie summed up in 2 minutes.

+Kyle Oxenham I know that Dan Akroyd once appeared on HI in a cross over with "Soul Man" so there is one.
