Always My Best Friend Lyrics

The years we’ve spent together, have flown by much too fast
Memories we’ve cherished are now fading in the past
Our children have all grown and gone the wheel has turned around
Again it’s just the two of us sharing treasures that we’ve found
So take my hand and walk with me through the time that lies ahead
No need to say a single word, we know it’s all been said
And when that final page is turned and the story’s at its end
You were more than just a wife to me you were always my best friend
Plans we made together, after all were only dreams
That vanished in the light of day made of nothing so it seems
They held our life together in those times when all went wrong
And it’s such that dreams are made of and its dreams that make love strong
So take my hand and walk with me through the time that lies ahead
No need to say a single word, we know it’s all been said
And when that final page is turned and the story’s at its end
You were more than just a wife to me you were always my best friend
Now the flame is slowly fading but the warmth will still remain
Of a constant friend and lover, through the happiness and pain
With you by my side to guide me then we’ll face the passing time
As we started out so long ago when I changed your name to mine
So take my hand and walk with me through the time that lies ahead
No need to say a single word, we know it’s all been said
And when that final page is turned and the story’s at its end
You were more than just a wife to me you were always my best friend
You were more than just a wife to me you were always my best friend
