Do you want to ditch the powered campsites and embrace the free camping lifestyle?
Come inside and check out this caravan and we'll show you how upgrading to lithium gives you the freedom to adventure just about anywhere.
So, what did we start within this van?
This van had 300 Watts of solar on the roof, and two 125 AGM's down outside, and it's got the base model BMPRO 30-35 Genius in it.
So what have we done to get them ready for free camping?
We've fitted a 200 Amp B-TEC Enerdrive Lithium with space to fit a second one. The other main thing really that's made this off-grid ready is the extra two panels. So, now we've got a total of 600 Watts of solar on the roof. We also installed an Enerdrive DCDC charger.

I'm curious how you made the Genius system redundant to 240V charging and then add the Enerdrive system to take over 240V charging. Did you take the pos and neg charge cables from Enerdrive 240V charger direct to the battery input connections on the Genius?. As the batteries are positioned so far from the Genius BMS, wouldn't it make it difficult to connect the Enerdrive 240V charger to the battery terminals?

🤫 We can't give away all our wiring secrets, but we are pretty good a getting cables where other can't. 😉
We disconnect all 240v charging functions of the genius and run the correct sized cabling for the distance from the charger to the batteries. If you would like to know more about how we convert exisiting systems to lithium, we would be happy to discuss further. Feel free to give us a call on 1300 227 353.

Hi Nicky, Caravan Lithium Battery Upgrades can vary greatly in price depending on the caravan, existing battery system, products used and the desired outcomes of the customer. Upgrades can range from 5K to 20K. If you would like to know what a comparable set up would cost for your caravan, please get in touch with us directly on 1300 227 353 or info@amae.net.au.

What cable size cable would you recommend to run from BMPRO BP35ha to a 200ah btec which sits under bed and approx cable length of 8meters?

Without seeing the loads and how the system is configured we cannot accurately advise on the best cabling to use. However, in most cases would recommend a minimum of 6 B&S Twin core ran to the unit. It does depend on the application and loads required, we may recommend going bigger if the system requires it.
