    One of the best Cedar Fair parks to me. I think thrill seekers sometimes do themselves a disservice by getting “credits” for mediocre coasters instead of spending more time enjoying the amazing flat rides. The park does have a great lineup of B&M coasters.

    I rode time warp on a whim last weekend and I don't know if it was the tighter clearances due to the cold weather or the puffy clothes and hat I was wearing but it was actually... Fun? I hadn't been on it in a decade and it was like... Not painful?

    Excellent review! I was fortunate to go on some of the removed rides over the years such as Bayern's, Skyrider, and Jet Scream but I wholeheartedly admit that the experience smoothed out a lot when Cedar Fair took over and added the new coasters + crew processes. I don't have the details handy but some days the fast pass + is cheaper than others. Can pick a mild weekday and either chance it or get a fast pass + for a discounted rate.

    Another spot on review. I'm so happy I got here for the first time 3 weeks ago, I can't wait to come back and do the flats and skip the vekomas. I've been super fortunate to get to so many new parks this year, including 6 new CF parks. CW ended up as my overall #3 CF park behind CP and KD. I really love KD especially for their top 2.

    This park is absolutely insane for how big its collection is and how overall, the big Canada park is a Cedar Fair monster. But the collection could be better, definitely focusing more on quantity than quality and I think it should focus more on quality. They have 3 absolutely fantastic B&Ms but after that is one of the biggest drop offs ever, and almost every coasters here isn't actually a "good" coaster. Boomerang, Volare, SLC, bad woodies, this park needs some good modern stuff and a modern Mack launch would be fantastic.

    I’ve only been once, on US Memorial Day in 2018 and that was absolutely the right decision. I was able to ride every roller coaster and what I believe to be the only cycle of the day on sledge hammer. I was able to leave the park by 5:00 or so to make the 5+ hour drive home. Got multiple rides on the top three roller coasters at the time (leviathan, behemoth, and vortex) and rode pretty much every ‘unique’ flat ride. Highly recommend going on a US holiday during the school year.

    I haven't been here since 2000, when I was in high school (I know, aging myself there). I'm happy to see the park has improved since then, and there's more and better rides. I'll probably wait a few more years before going again, for when my son's old enough to experience some of the bigger rides. Thanks for the review!

    I like how they added Frontier Canada in 2019 because that was one of their original plans when they first built the park and they were slightly criticized foe an American owned park in Canada not having enough Canada represented within it. Maybe they should focus their detailed attention to the waterpark next and give a Canadian seaside theming of some sort like Newfoundland or Nova Scotia.

    Great advice all around! I had utilized most of those tips on my 2019 visit, which wasn't terribly busy. Rain when I arrived midday, and there were no lines at all. The rain got to be too brutal after awhile, so even I left early. 1st full day, I made sure to get all the credits done. 2nd full day, I bought fast lane, so that I could marathon the good ones and hop on the flat rides. On a June Wednesday, the price was only 65 Canadian, around $60 US after tax. Well worth it! I'm not surprised prices have gone up.

    Canada's Wonderland is really a great Cedar Fair park. I first visited in 2009, and while I loved it back then, I've been enjoying it more and more as I kept visiting. Cedar Fair has really made the park very beautiful, given it some great rides (flat rides and roller coasters), and just ensured that it lives up to its full potential. I'm glad Cedar Fair bought this park, because if Paramount continued to operate this, this park would have been a complete mess and a half. Cedar Fair investing into Canada's Wonderland as they are is amazing, and I hope they continue to invest in really good rides moving forward. Roller coasters still isn't the strongest, but their three B&Ms make up for it, and their flat ride collection has to be the best in the world.
    Crowds is DEFINITELY AN ISSUE HERE. As someone who has Canada's Wonderland as their home park, I can definitely say that this park can get crowded very easily and is very popular. I mean in 2019, Canada's Wonderland got about 3.96 million visitors. That's more than the flagship park, Cedar Point, making Canada's Wonderland the most visited seasonal Cedar Fair park, and one of the most visited parks in North America overall, which is ridiculous. Their operations I can also say is very good. Their operations are at least between a minute or a minute and a half, and sometimes faster, but most of the time, they've kept it between this time frame, at least for more of their major rides. I've waited what looked like long lines, but really, the lines move very fast, especially for their B&Ms. I don't stand in one place very long, and sometimes, I move through half the line faster than what I expected.
    In terms of their other coasters, I don't like Flight Deck, but I ride it just to have fun for how terrible it is. Time Warp just plain sucks for me. Silver Streak is actually not that bad for me, but it definitely has a rattle, but I wouldn't say it bangs my head. Their wood coasters are very rough, but that's what makes them fun for me, although Wilde Beast got a lot more retracking in the recent years, so it isn't as rough as it used to be. Dragon Fyre is one of the better Arrow Dynamics custom loopers, and maybe it's because I am taller and don't bang my head, but those transitions can be a bit jarring. Vortex, top tier Arrow Dynamics suspended coasters, which I hope S&S and Canada's Wonderland can still maintain for a long time. The Bat, again because I am taller, I don't find it too rough, except for the fact that I black out too much on this ride. Backlot Stunt Coaster, great family launch coaster, and is much more forceful than you think, although you will slide around in the car, because the transitions are pretty abrupt, but I wouldn't say rough.
    There really is no other competition in terms of amusement parks, except for like Wet n' Wild Toronto and Marineland, but let's face it, Canada's Wonderland is so dominant, that I wouldn't even consider any of those parks major threats.

    before i go on, I must nerd out as of now, backlot is the only roller coaster in Canada with a launch
    and another fun fact, canadas wonderland contains over a quarter of all Canadian roller coasters
    I went to this park this year for the first time, without fast lane I got ten roller coasters and was on five different flat rides, the park had the atmosphere of a beautiful nature park, with a mix of thrill and a tiny bit of disney like charm, I cannot tell you how much I want to go back to this park, not just to ride the rest of the rides, but to redo the ones I loved, It was my favourite park before I went and going only solidified that

    I am very happy and proud to say that Canada's Wonderland is my home park as well as one of my first employers.
    I have been visiting Wonderland every single year since 1990. That was the year I became an enthusiast. With the exception of the few years I worked at the park I have had a season pass every year since 1991.
    I still enjoy visiting the park, however, I do not get as excited as I did when I was a teenager. I also get nostalgic and a little sad because two out of five of my favourite rides (my most favourite and beloved Jet Scream, and Skyrider) as well as Orbitor were removed.
    But Canada's Wonderland has given me many memories, smiles, laughter, and learning skills that I will continue to love and support them.

    Just wanted to chime in on the cheapest/best way to experience the whole park: the
    Cost of a season pass and two nights at a cheap hotel or Airbnb near the park can be comparable or less than two days of regular admission and Fastlane+, which gets you three whole days at the park, with in and out privileges to eat at the multiple interesting ethnic restaurants located within walking distance of the gate. You will spend more time in lines, but the park is big enough that's it's nice to be able to take it slow, at least at my age. I live an hour away on public transit so it's all advice for people who aren't me 🙂

    • @CanobieCoaster

    Canada Wonderland is clearly the best amusement park in Canada, but it's not worth riding any coaster beyond their top seven, which include the 3 B&Ms; Vortex, Back Lot Stunt Coaster, Dragon Fyre and Wilde Beast. Canada Wonderland also has the world's best flat ride collection too, if you're into that kinda thing, but no flat ride at Canada Wonderland is as good as the Beast at Playland in Vancouver, which opened before it's clone in the U.S. (at least according to the last time I checked; by now there are likely even more than just one clone).
    I agree re the food: I did subway there too because it seemed to be the best option, despite the fact that there's a Subway directly east of the entrance to the park across the width of the parking lot with exactly the same food, but without a 100% markup. There's also a subway in the mall across the street from the hotel I stayed at which is the closest hotel to the park.
    I love Canada Wonderland, but for coasters overall I prefer Cedar Point, since my top 7 at Cedar Point are Steel Vengeance, Millennium Force, Gatekeeper, TTD (which doesn't count since it's defunct) Raptor, Maverick, Magnum XL-200; Rougarou
    The closest two parks I've visited (within the past 4.5 years) I can compare the quality of its best coasters to imo would have to be Six Flags Great Adventure, (assuming El Toro is operating, which it isn't, but it's not dead yet) which are El Toro; Nitro; Jersey Devil; Kingda Ka, Medusa; Green Lantern; Batman.
    The next closest park re quality of coasters I've visited (within the past 5 years) is SFMM where my favourite coasters are Twisted Colossus; X2; Riddler's revenge; Wonder Woman Flight of Courage (which I'll include because I've ridden it which I haven't but because it's at SFMM now and Ive also ridden Jersey Devil so I know what it's like); Tatsu; Viper; Full Throttle; Scream
    With these comparisons of each of the aforementioned parks's top seven coasters, it's clear that Canada Wonderland is outshone by Cedar Point; SFGA, as well as SFMM. However: Canada Wonderland beats all parks I've visited except Cedar Point for two best coasters in the park, imo, if not three. I concur that Canada Wonderland has a top heavy coaster selection and also that it's extremely crowded even during weekdays

    • @CanobieCoaster

      What helps this park compared to other top tier parks is the flat ride depth, the operations, and the presentation.

    Canada’s Wonderland is my home park, as I like about an hour south of it. I’ve been going since I was a kid, and I loved this place. I do agree they need some more great coasters to add smoothen their lineup, but I do agree that the unique collection of flats doesn’t make it seem so bad. If their next coaster is what I think it is, then this park is gonna have a Top 5 like no other in North America. Like, an Arrow Suspended Coaster in a park’s Top 5? Absolutely unheard of.
    But yes, I do agree the crowds are obnoxious. I visited there last summer as an outing for my church program, and the big three had consistently hour-long lines. But the operations do make up for it - absolutely top notch.
    Honestly, I don’t think there’s any way to split up those crowds, though. Canada’s Wonderland is the biggest theme park in Canada… and the only really “good” one. Marineland looks like a ghost town, La Ronde is constantly getting trashed on, Galaxyland closed Mindbender, and Playland is just too far away. So… Canada’s Wonderland it is.
    I can only see the crowds dropping if Marineland gets bought out by a bigger corporation - because that thing is on the chopping block. I wouldn’t want to lose Dragon Mountain - that thing is a one-of-a-kind experience. And La Ronde isn’t going anywhere. Let’s say SeaWorld comes in and saves Marineland. It has so much land that can be used, so they could build absolutely wild coasters to finally give Canada’s Wonderland a run for its money.
    We’ve seen what SeaWorld can do. If they come in and transform this place onto the Busch Gardens of the north, this’ll make Niagara Falls an ever more worthy tourist destination than it already is, and would make a decent rival park to Canada’s Wonderland - which is about an hour and a half north of Marineland.
    That’s the only way I can see the crowds being dealt with - is if another park shows up and gives Canada’s Wonderland a bone to pick with. But I still love this place, and I get excited every time I go back there, but these are just my own thoughts.

    Yea I went on a day where there was projected t storms days in advance and 90 degree weather. The result was 15 minute waits for The B&Ms. I only stayed for 6 hours and got 6 rides on Leviathan, 2 on Behemoth, and rode a bunch of other attractions as well. Saying we got lucky is an understatement!

    Canada‘s Wonderland is my home park and I’ve always noticed that the longest lines in the park are rides like the fly, thunder run, and especially wonder mountain guardian because all the little kids can ride them. Those rides are usually about a two hour wait.

      Doesn't help they have lower capacities too.

  • @Mochii_icecream

    Ok, the single riders line is almost always short, but they only put in about 1 person from the single riders lane per 3 carts. They only use it if there are empty spaces, usually very rare.
    Also, on time warp, once my feet slipped so I had to grab on for dear life as I can't reach the next steps and the forces stopped me from going back on that step.

    I actually have this place of cedar point in my rankings. Cedar point may house higher-quality coasters but as far as atmosphere, operations, and overall experience go, Canada's wonderland is the clear winner imo. Most of cps b&ms ran 1-2 trains the 2 days i was there, Valravn being the only one I saw always running three trains. The only other place the point beats cw is in food, but its not quite enough to overcome the top tier flat rides, top 4, atmosphere etc :)

    You know some people are suggesting that they should've removed flight deck instead of orbiter and you know what I can somewhat agree with that cause I was gonna go on orbiter it wasn't rough at all and even though it didn't have seatbelts it had the spaceship style carriges to keep you in place during the ride especially since it went really fast

  • @aldodaci9055

  • @aldodaci9055
    @aldodaci9055 2 роки тому

    You know I can see why some people dislike time warp those turns are pretty janky so yeah I think they should've built it more properly but I think it looks fun and the hangtime on those 2 barrel rolls is awesome especially since you have a cage protecting you

  • @aldodaci9055
    @aldodaci9055 2 роки тому

    You know I'm guessing the reason why some people think silver streak is a bit rough is because it has metal seats so maybe they could add some padding to make it more comfortable

  • @aldodaci9055
    @aldodaci9055 Рік тому

    By the way the other reason why I think the bat at canada's wonderland will be perfect as my first looping coaster is because once you drop you go through a cobra roll and that's perfect for people who've never been on a roller coaster with inversions before
