I like the idea that the system files are so long gone that the normal error screen doesn't even display any more. Literally the only issue is "anti-overheating", which could have been replaced with a "Low Power Consumption Mode" or "Forced Shutdown". Or replace the entire process with "Hardware Diagnostics" that test different parts of the console for lasting damage, which seems to have happened to some parts. Everything else is extraordinary.
I can imagine overheating killscreens happening. I can hear in my head the fans spinning out of control, or getting jammed and making gut wrenching clicking sounds. Terrifying.
0:47 umm what did the game freeze it's fine i'll just restart my PS2 i'm sure everything will be fine oh you've got to be kidding us!? Is overheating the console? Nah, I don't think so, I'm sure it's fine
This is one of the most convincing kill screen videos I’ve seen. It seemed so legitimate until the “anti-overheating” part. And thank you for not putting a jumpscare at the end. They’re getting so overused at this point.
@@CervidaeI find that the term "jumpscare" is also being used by most to describe creepy images used like a crying Mario or some unsettling screen that looks absolutely out of place, as though the console itself is trying to scare the user. It's really cliché.
My ps2 was doing this yesterday, there's a glitch to fix it. When it did this, I unplug everything and grabbed the hammer and smash the living crap out of it for a good 30 seconds then put it in ice water for about 2 hours to cool of. Then plug it back together and it should be fine.
Honestly, this does seem pretty damn realistic. In fact, this looks more like a direct capture from the PS2 itself rather than it being off of a VHS tape. But damn it! Why couldn't the player have just turned off the PS2 and let it cool down? Were they just that impatient?
@@chiptunegalaxy160 I mean, I've seen the RSOD when I tried to play a disc that was really scratched up. And I believe I tried loading a PC game onto one of my PS2s and got the RSOD
Honestly, the concept and the execution here do a really good mix at being realistic. Although I do have two questions. 1. What drove the so called "player" to keep attempting to play the game? 2. Since when does the PS2 have a anti overheating system?
The player just wants to play the game but he didnt pat the PS2 to think it's hot. But PS2 never had this Anti Overheating System, It was never invented by sony.
1. It's probably curiousness 2. I have no profession whatsoever with PS Consoles so I cannot answer this I'm not him but this is just a theory. A video theory. :troll:
the first question can be answer by simple curiosity or the same feeling of "oh no what happened to my console?" i remember this feeling but with my Wii since i was into Homebrew i used to get a lot of errors/random freezes and my first reaction was just re-start the console to see if everything was ok since there was a realistic chance of bricking the console by installing something stupid on it, the 2nd quesition can be answer by a simple no, the PS2 didn't had an anti-overheating system, in fact it was so well design that it didn't overheat "in regular conditions" that was all made up, don't worry the PS2 isn't the Xbox 360, you can't get rings of death because of overheat, you def don't have to reflow your APU to make it work again lmaooo.
This looks a bit realistic. but the thing is ps2 doesnt have anti-overheating or any other errors than ( Please insert a PlayStation Or a PlayStation 2 format disc ) as someone who has a PS2 none of these are actually there. butt the edit is cool af
idk about the ps2 but most consoles after it will usually just turn off and refuse to boot until its cooled down a little. If you're feeling crazy, you can place a towel over the console and try it for yourself and see what the results are, it likely wont be like this.
I like the idea that the system files are so long gone that the normal error screen doesn't even display any more.

this seems like such a legitimate killscreen, no jumpscares, crazy glitches, loud sounds in general, the overused sayonara bs, 666, blah blah blah...
And it doesn't turn into an anti-piracy screen.
I can imagine overheating killscreens happening. I can hear in my head the fans spinning out of control, or getting jammed and making gut wrenching clicking sounds. Terrifying.
