As much I hate to admit it, the US will definitely win it first due to the way the talent is developed. Not just from a financial standpoint but from a developmental, there’s definitely more attention in the youth compared to Mexico. At the end of the day they give the youth more chances to grow all around.

I’m sorry but the US has more potential currently, mexico isn’t winning a World Cup, they have had some great players but they are never held accountable. Mexico blames coaching for their failures. They have had some great coaches and have had golden eras and have had times where they have reached their ceiling but I don’t think they can get past the quarterfinals.
Hey man, as a US fan, it’s nice to see our team on the rise, and I hope eventually in the future we could make advance far enough and maybe win. With the skill on our team rising, and the amount of future players being possibly involved as soccer continues to grow, I could see it happening one day
The US just has a much bigger talent pool and financial ability to advance the sport. There's no way the US doesn't become a much bigger part of the conversation than Mexico.
I think Mexico has a bigger talent pool because In theUSA most top athletes do sports like American football, basketball, baseball, soccer isn’t as popular as in Mexico where it’s the #1 sport. But yeah the money is in America.

Even with all the other sports, we have the biggest talent pool to draw from and identify who would be good for the sport. if we fix our youth dev they won't leave to play another sport, because they love the sport they've been training at since they were a kid.

Golden generations come and go, but they have some young talent in Europe and smaller leagues.
Mexico has produced better talent over the years and done better in world cups, US team is considered trash in Europe, when England lost to them in 2010 the backlash was probably worse than Iceland. Mexico is considered a far more respectable team and what we’d consider are harder draw in a major tournament.

Mexico's program seems to be headed for a period of decline because their senior team is relying on several 30+ year olds and their U-20 right now is disappointing, but there's no reason to think the program won't be back, eventually.
All it takes is a few key players in a given generation to transform an entire program.

USA has been a better soccer team in the last 2 decades and performed better in the World Cups. At this point, I don't think Mexico can even be considered a serious contender. Although the baseline for talent in the US player pool is plainly getting better and better as a result of the MLS academies, the US is still at least a decade or two from being a serious contender for the World Cup. And even when that point is reached, a team needs a lot of luck.
That said, the US team now has quality players that are shockingly young. This generation's team will be a legitimate threat to advance deeply in 2026, playing at home.
And with climate change making summers more and more humid, the teams that are most accustomed to playing in those conditions are gonna enjoy a significant advantage in 2026. I fully expect a South American team to win it all, and for CONCACAF, CAF, and AFC teams to register several upsets of UEFA teams.

Most likely the US, Mexico has become complacent and soccers development stagnant for decades now theyre happy beating terrible teams from Concacaf and getting out of the group stage in the WC, whereas the growth of the sport in the US has boomed at an exponential level. Heck Mexico hasnt beaten the US in half a decade. So dont be surprised if in the next 15-20 years the US makes a WC final while the Mexican national team struggles to make it out of group stages
